There was salad, and soup and dessert too, but all I remember was that steak! A friend of mine is a member at the country club and said that they recently got a new chef. The clubhouse is very large, very well appointed and comfortable. Our event was a VIP reception for Miss America Teresa Scanlan, so we only had appetizers and complimentary wine. The room was spacious, with no apparant wear and tear on any of the furniture and fixtures. The staff was extrememly efficient, and the food was delicious. Don't know what their membership policies are, but for a high-end reception, I would recommend it.

Walking up to the little building you can tell it is a labor of love and it shows. The flowers are beautiful, and the place is tidy and well kept. The staff (I think the family that owns it) greet you with a smile and make sure you have everything that you need. Granted, the course is simple, (it was designed in the 50's) but you get to ring a bell and everyone cheers when you get a hole-in-one. You get a commemorative bumper sticker as a trophy! There is a chance to spin "The Prize Wheel" on the 19th hole. They still have one of the original obstacles (A little windmill, still working) and one of those penny grocery store mechanical horses that kids can ride for free! In an age when people require fire spitting robot pirates and exploding dragons to be entertained, it's nice to remember what it was like to go to a small amusement, run with pride, and enjoy a simple, outdoor activity, and company of people that you love.

Four Winds has an interesting status as both municipal course and country club, I believe. This is a great, well-kept course with trees, water and sand hazards, and hilly topography. I also love that the fairways are lined with trees, not houses!
