We have had a few visits at Montgomery pediatric dentistry and I could not be more pleased. Every one of the staff members is so kind, welcoming, and gentle. It can be intimidating for a little kid, heck, adults even, to have their teeth cleaned. But they really do a great job at putting kids at ease. The office is very clean and efficiently run as well. Their token treat system for kids after their visits is a lot of fun and the kids really enjoy picking something special after a job well done! The dentist at this office recommended that my daughter have a tooth extraction due to some abnormalities that showed up on her X-Ray. After getting a few second opinions, we decided to schedule the procedure. I am thoroughly impressed with this office and how they prepped us for the visit, calling us the day before and letting us know what to expect. On the day of the visit, all care providers were so excellent with my daughter providing a calming and enjoyable experience as she watched her favorite tv show and using child friendly language to explain what was being done. My daughter remained calm and happy throughout the process. As a parent, this process was smooth and I felt that my child was in good hands during this procedure. The follow up was great and they provided a prize for my child at the end of the visit. She was very happy and is not afraid to go back! read more

Pro: The environment was very child-friendly. My teenager loved it and enjoyed watching anime shows that were projected onto the ceiling while she was being treated lying on the dental chair. The staff was friendly too. Cons: First, I am sorry to say that the cleaning job wasn't good--at least according to my teen's orthodontist's evaluation. I ended up taking her to an out-of-network place recommended by the orthodontist for a second cleaning. Second, I recently switched to another dentist, and found that Montgomery Pediatric Dentistry charged 50% more than this new dentist for the routine X-ray and cleaning. Because of the limitation of my teen's insurance plan, we pay the full amount even though both are within the network. The cost difference between the two places amount to $100, prompting me to leave this review. Now I realize the ticket price for that anime show was probably $100... Follow-up: I received bills from my new dentist and was able to compare prices of the same procedures. I am astonished by the difference, which is even bigger than I imagined. I am listing Montgomery's charge first, followed by my new dentist's. - Comprehensive oral evaluation: $129 versus $61 - 4 Bitewing x-rays: $91 versus $45 - Prophylaxis-adult (i.e., dental cleaning): $128 (and it went up to $134 for my teen's 2nd cleaning in six months) versus $82 - Two surface posterior resin (for filling a cavity): $328 versus $174 (A casual internet search told me that "Tooth-colored composite resin fillings can cost $90-$250 for one or more surfaces" so $328 is quite off the chart. Eww!) We also applied sealant at Montgomery, which cost $83 for each teeth. Again, internet research says "Dental sealants...This painless procedure can be $30 to $60 per tooth, although some insurance or discount plans can reduce that cost." BTW, two of the teeth that had sealant applied developed cavity in less than two years and I have just had them filled. I didn't realize there can be such drastic difference in pricing for exactly the same procedure in the same town. The price probably only affects people who don't have good insurance like us, but at any rate I picked my new dentist randomly and am glad I did it. read more

Love this place! Dr. Shah was amazing with my filling today. Very gentle and warned me with everything she was about to do. Made me feel comfortable and overall a skilled hygienist. Dr. Ciano is absolutely amazing! Her calming yet fun personality had my 2 year old actually enjoying his trip to the dentist! She took her time, sang, and engaged my son the entire time! As parents we also had plenty of questions which she happily answered. In addition to this wonderful dentist, the whole staff makes you feel welcomed as soon as you walk in. And for the kids soooo much to keep them entertained while waiting! Overall I would highly recommend this practice to anyone searching for a Pediatric Dentist for their child. I highly recommend Montgomery Pediatric dentistry! The doctors and dental hygienists there are fantastic, so comforting, gentle with our young daughter. They give the first visit (under 2 years old) for free. You can tell they all really enjoy their job and love their patients. Best Pediatric Dentist that I have found! Caring / patient and their office is clean and beautiful. iPads and toys for the waiting room and refreshments for parents and kids. Allergen free is a plus for the children with allergies! Treasure tokens for the children at the end of their visit. You will not be disappointed! They really care about the children and are very good with nervous kids ( and parents). I highly recommended and can not praise them enough. The appointment was not great considering that our previous dentist was amazing. Dr. Ciano was just OK with our child: she ran out of patience quickly and almost resorted to a gentle force that I wasn't comfortable with. I suggested my daughter, who was crying by that time from nervousness, sit on my lap. Honestly, Dr. Ciano seemed nice at the onset if a bit high strung. My daughter didn't bite, hit, swat at, kick, or anything; she was just scared and needed more patience than Dr Ciano was able to give. The doctor then gripped at me and my husband for not brushing her teeth in the same manner so she would be used to such treatment; sorry, but having a gloved, masked stranger stick foreign objects in your mouth while losing their patience with your crying is not something my children are used to. And my daughter has been visiting the dentist since 6 months of age, and this was not one of the better appointments. read more
