We were extremely happy with the results and wouldn't hesitate to use them again! We would definitely refer them to others.

Logistically, it was a very challenging removal, which Layton's crew handled with ease. As a retired commercial construction and risk professional, I was impressed with their speed, efficiency, attention to detail, professionalism, and most importantly, their commitment to safety for their workers and clients. They follow through on their commitments, show up when they say they will, and clean up, leaving no trace they were even there. They have a certified arborist on staff and can provide expert advice on tree maintenance and proper removal methods. Their commitment to quality workmanship is evident in every way - from the highly maintained specialized equipment, rigorous use of safety equipment, workmanship, and courtesy of all workers. I agree with the other reviews that state "their reliability, attention to detail, and customer service were outstanding!" and that "5 stars may not be enough", as they routinely exceed expectations. Not only do I highly recommend them, but they are the ONLY tree service I recommend, as they are simply the best. ~ Tanya, Huntersville

Monster did a very nice job of maintaining trees on my acre lot. Many of them needed some…read moreextensive trimming and pruning, and several cypress trees in the back yard needed to be lifted up to open the space up. The results look great. Monster is a great example of the fact that not every job will go according to plan, and that responding quickly to an issue makes all the difference in the world. During the pruning of some taller trees in my side yard, a falling branch bounced and impacted the plumbing at my well head and knocked out water to my house. The crew foreman immediately came to the door and told me about the situation, we shut off the well, and his supervisor arranged for a licensed plumber to come out and fix the issue ASAP. Problems happen on jobs, and dealing with those problems quickly and professionally is the mark of a great contractor. The trees look great, the crew did an excellent job cleaning up, and the water's working just fine. I'll definitely use them again.

I would have left 0 stars if that were an option…read more Monster was supposed to remove several trash trees in my backyard, take down two large oak trees in my front yard, and grind the stumps on April 3rd. When they arrived, they spent about an hour looking at the two front trees before telling me they couldn't remove them because of a power line. The frustrating part? The power line was there when their employee originally came out to provide the quote, but they failed to account for it. They eventually removed the backyard trees and left. I followed up because the stumps hadn't been ground, despite being told the entire project would be completed that day. I was told stump grinding typically takes another two weeks to schedule and that they were working on a solution for the front trees. From there, it was weeks of me chasing them for updates. Each time, I was told they were still working on it, had a solution, or would keep me posted. They never proactively communicated. In late May, I was told Duke Energy would trim the trees around the power line so Monster could remove them. Duke came out a week or two later and did exactly that. I notified Monster, only to be told Duke hadn't taken down enough. Meanwhile, the backyard stumps still hadn't been ground. I continued following up and received repeated assurances that they "had it covered" and that I needed to be patient. By mid-July, I told them the project needed to be completed by the end of the month (the front trees removed and everything ground). At that point, the project was already 3.5 months past the original completion date. Their response? They couldn't do it. This has been an incredibly frustrating experience. Poor planning, virtually no proactive communication, missed timelines, and repeated excuses have turned what should have been a simple project into a months-long ordeal. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you need a tree service that actually follows through.
