With a wait-wait here and a wait-wait there, your handmade to-order burger will eventually get there. One starts to wonder if they actually slaughter the cow to-order as well. In all seriousness the burgers were worth the wait, especially my bacon cheeseburger (normal sized). Extremely juicy and flavorful and without a doubt one of my favorite hamburgers in Hamburg thus far! Bonus tip: on the back of the menu they have one of the funniest things available to order -- pitchers of cosmopolitans. I guess Old MacDonald also had a daughter on his farm, but she left for the Big City.

I can't agree with this though. Their burger was alright but nothing spectacular. Their burgers are available in three sizes; small, standard (200g and about 12 euros) and another size. I cant quite recall as I got a standard. 200g is a good portion of meat. However I got the hickory bbq burger and that bbq sauce was really lacking. I blame having lived in the US and so fair to say I was disappointed in what I hoped would have been an awesome burger. Perhaps the others are better...

And, it was cooked perfectly to my medium rare request. The issue? 4! Count them--four 6 inch sprigs of fresh Rosemary on the hot plate under the steak overwhelming it with herby fumes! 1 would have sufficed! Four is enough to offend and halt an angry Water Buffalo at full waddle. Then the green beans were cooked squishy and had heavy butter. What happened to steaming so there is still a firm bite? And the steak sauce was an odd concoction of tomato cocktail sauce with onions??? For my premium steak? A horseradish Mayo with steak drippings would have been more interesting for a house steak sauce... The fries? Perfect. The 500g T bone (porterhouse actually with giant filet lobe) was a generous portion. The server crew oozed warm hospitality--bravo. The kitchen crew looked depressed. Maybe they knew that I would not enjoy my steak

I'll keep it simple and order a beer to help me decide on the meal. I chose the Hähnchenbrustfilet mit Pfefferkornsauce und rostbrot (chicken breast filet, with peppercorn sauce and oven roasted bread). It was nicely prepared and presented. Tasty meal for my last night in Hamburg.
