Would you like to have breakfast in Italy or Portugal and let the bad Hamburg-weather outside?
At the exterior view you can hardly imagine: but this shop has a very pleasant atmosphere.
I am standing comfortably at one of the bar tables opposite the sideboard with a toasted Gigi-roll, filled with italian ham and cheese, and a latte macchiato and having a talk with the pleasant boss of the shop who is from Portugal.
Her husband is Italian and so there are Italian and Portuguese dishes.
You will get at 06.30 a.m. breakfast in this Italian country bakery. Croissants, Natas, apple muffins (approx. EUR 0.90), filled Gigi-roll and Ciroletta (1,70 - 2,60 EUR) with mortadella, parma ham, very delicious salami etc..
The original Giaggia coffee machine conjures good mixtures combined with fair prices (espresso 1.20, Cappu EUR 1.70) and the service is very nice and personal and it seems they know everybody for years.
At noon you can choose between a Pasta or a Meat court. (5-7 EUR)
They have also Antipasti for EUR 3.60 per dish and home-made cake and Quiche.
In summer a couple of tables stand outside. unfortunately the corner is anything but idyllic. (see the picture) read more
