Our main concern was for our customers as we didn't want them to get bombarded with constant text messages. The InfinitVIP system allows us to control this. Additionally, the ability to track our customers activity and provide incentives to them has turned out to be a positive thing for both them and us. At the last minute, we decided to elope instead of getting married in Italy. With 6 days to plan,…read morewe used the services of officiant Brian Borgia at "Weddings in Monterey." Brian had several photographers he works with - Jacob's photographic style appealed to us and he was available to shoot a mid-week afternoon wedding. Weren't we lucky to find Perl Photography! Besides fantastic photos, he listened intently and gave us exactly the photos we had hoped for - and another 140 terrific shots! He gave us the rights to the pictures - so none of the expensive packages from other photographers. What we especially liked was his attitude - he made our "after wedding" photos a complete party. We hiked down to the beach and shot some more photos with the waves and rocks in the background. Then a couple of the waves merged into a big wave and we were standing knee deep in a wave. We were all laughing so hard! Apparently Jacob kept shooting - the wave shot is Mark's favorite!

Luckily, we had a separate wedding celebration months later, documented by a different photographer; therefore, we weren't stuck with the awkwardly posed, overly staged photos that we got from Jacob. I'm not sure Jacob is keen on listening to the actual client's desires, versus placing his vision on the project that is in-fact, not his to mold, but that of the client's. My husband and I were ridiculously disappointed in the product produced by Jacob to the point that we don't have ANY photos of our actual marriage ceremony that we can comfortably display, outside of the photos that were taken in which Jacob "ordered" us to repeat "and 'this time follow his instruction" because we didn't walk/display poses in the way he wanted us to and we deviated from his vision and did what we felt to be natural... (long and behold, only those pictures deviating FROM Jacob's instruction turned out to be the few good ones among the salvageable). In summary, If you have a vision that's anything other than overly posed/produced shots, look elsewhere.

Manny provided the microphones for our ceremony (on the groom and officiant), was the DJ for our reception, provided mic's for our Mariachi band and a mirror booth. We had a lot of specific little things we wanted to do for our wedding (lots of music cues, logistics for different points of the reception, etc.), and Emmanuel (Manny, as we called him) was very helpful. They have an online system that lets you put really specific instructions in, but even after we'd uploaded the songs we wanted, we were able to call Manny a day or two before the wedding and walk through some small changes, which everyone on the same page with what was in our head. They really made sure we felt like we could give them as much detail as possible, and it wouldn't overwhelm them - it would just make them better at accomplishing what we were looking for. But they were also REALLY good at improvising - we didn't always have a packed dance floor (due to lower attendance numbers than we expected), but the DJ would read the room and switch over to a few slow dances, and that got some more people dancing. And then once he felt there were a good number of people on their feet, he'd go back to the upbeat music we'd discussed. It was such a smart move, and a clear sign that they're really good at taking the temperature/vibe of your wedding and making it happen! Manny was our MC, and he brought a DJ and two women to run the photo booth. They were all excellent, and we got a lot of great compliments about the music and photos for the next several days."
