You'd barely know it was there, as it is dwarfed by the Portola Hotel, and almost blends in with the adjacent parking garage. But don't overlook this strategically placed branch nor the helpful folks who work there. Pricilla and her boss the branch manager helped me out of a sticky situation. There is a genuine quality about these folks I think you will appreciate. I sure did. As for my experience afterwards, awful and embarrassing. The manager had me get in line again, and I get this young white woman, thin, about 5'10" (she might have been wearing heels?). Anyways, I explained quietly that I had surgery, and I was sent the ATM card as disability, and I just wanted to cash it out since I bank elsewhere. My card was a bit warped from the sun. She starts talking loudly about, along the lines, "it's a state card, [she] can't issue [me] another one." So loudly, the lady next to me being helped by the other teller that I liked, turns, and looks at me up and down. I'm mortified. I overcompensate by saying, I don't need another card since disability was sent just for surgery. She took my card to cash it out, and returns it saying the machine won't take it. I take her word for it, and go to my bank. I ask him if he can cash it out for me (not knowing if they take "state cards"), and on the second swipe, the card goes through, and he transfers the money into my account. No problems. This is why I bank where I do... to be treated with a false sense of subtle superiority is not my cup of tea. Thank goodness I don't live on government benefits, but the tellers unwillingness to keep matters private, and her unwillingness to even try to make the machine work, saddens me for those who are. I'm always running in here last minute since I cannot find my debit card and can't make deposits or withdrawals from the ATM. It's been missing since the day before I left for Vegas (thank goodness or I would have cleared my account playing poker) and that was like 4 weeks ago!!! I know I can close my debit card account and open another one to get a new card but I'm adamant that it is in my car or one of my purses. First I was in the…read moremarket for a loan so I thought I would give NFCU a go since I recently paid off a personal loan of substance and thought that my track record would speak for itself.....Wrong! first of all I got a pre-approval that under normal circumstances would not generate a hard INQ until the loan is finalized, but not the case with navy fed, hard INQ right off the bat. Secondly I ended up purchasing a vehicle that was a couple of years old, but was new, but as far as Navy Fed was concerned it was used because it wasn't a current model year. The interest rate that was quoted for the pre-approval was a little over 5% which was the new vehicle rate. After it was all said and done the rate was increased to over 9% as it was considered a loan for a used vehicle. The problem I have is that none of this was articulated to me at any time during the entire process so that I can make a decision weather or not to accept the terms.

The inept, incompetent customer service phone reps in the Mortgage Department here will cost you hours of your time on the phone correcting their mistakes and driving to the nearest branch to make mortgage payments that are mishandled over the phone. You also get emails threatening late payment penalties & fees after their employees mishandle your checking account number. Bank here if you want your finances messed with and time wasted.
