A friend of mine lives just across the street from this restaurant, so one Friday evening in late November 2021 we decided to get dinner here when we were too tired to go somewhere farther away. My friend was able to get us a reservation at 8:30 pm same-day. The restaurant has a classy, but not stuffy, vibe. Our server was Italian and very friendly.
They started us off with a complimentary amuse-bouche which was a lovely touch. That day it was a stuffed giant pasta shell, which was very tasty. I believe it had been baked, as the pasta shell was slightly crunchy. For mains, I ordered the eggplant penne while my friend got a risotto special of the day, which was made with speck ham. I really enjoyed my eggplant penne, which was hearty and cheesy, with a richly flavored red sauce. My friend really seemed to enjoy his risotto.
For dessert I ordered a tiramisu to go to enjoy back home. It was very classic and nicely presented, perhaps on the sweeter/less coffee taste side of the tiramisu spectrum but still it did not disappoint. The server indicated that any dessert other than ice cream could be taken to-go. The table next to us got what looked like a strawberry tiramisu that looked unique and delicious.
This was one of the nicer Italian restaurants I've been to recently, and I would love to come back to try some other pastas or their newly-introduced pizzas. For the quality of our food, I felt the prices were reasonable (14€ for my penne, 19€ for my friend's risotto). If you're in the mood for Italian food in the 14th arrondissement, this is a great option! read more
