I write a check dated for nine days later (weekends don't count, of course). The check bounces because my check had not cleared! And I was charged $34 fee, This is the worst bank! I have been a customer for decades and the service at this branch makes me want to move to another bank entirely. Made an appointment for a routine notary service and the gentleman who "helped" me truly did not understand anything. Could not wrap his brain around the concept that 2 documents needed to be notarized for 2 separate people. Since it was the same document he kept insisting he could only notarize one. Additionally, he said he could not be a witness or allow my husband to be a witness even though the document clearly stated both were acceptable options. Had to leave and pay to hire a mobile notary. 0 stars.

Branch Manager Micheal Velasquez has has to be one of he most unprofessional managers I have ever dealt with in my 18 years of being a Loyal customer to the institution. I tried to withdraw money from a loan ( granted by them) and instead of being treated like a customer, I was spoken to and treated like a criminal in regards to my personal information not lining up. The details are long and I understand and appreciate concern but I can tell you this is not how a professional handles the situation. Instead of being a professional and giving me options to resolve the discrepancies with my information to facilitate the release of the money Micheal had no problem loosing me as a customer when I said I would close all my accounts. I said this because I felt discriminated with the way I was being treated. He never presented options in a kind manner and if anything he raised his voice and spoke to in an elevated tone ( like he was my father or something ). After 18 years of business I will be looking to take my business somewhere else or at least take most of my business to a bank that actually appreciates their customers and doest make them feel like criminals. I did tell him that its people like him why banks will die and blockchain technology will take over. I have also filled a complaint with Corporate ( something I have maybe done one other time in my life against any employee from any business ever). Wells Fargo needs to train their managers how to handle these situations in a much much much more kind a professional manner. Update : 1/30/26 I called Wells Fargo ( customer service) . They said the validity of my Identity should have never been questioned after I provided proper documentation. I provided my driver license and Debit card information. Makes me question even more If I was being discriminated against . Update : 2/1/26 I have been reached out by the Wells Fargo team to get an understanding of the situation that occurred. I also went to another branch and the branch manager was very nice and understanding ( I should have gotten her name ) she works on upper state street . Her and Christopher Cooper were so nice and apologized for the situation that occurred at the other Wells Fargo bank . From my gathering and speaking to other ppl in the company, they can't understand why things went down the way they did . I do appreciate that people in the company have taken the time to reach and see what happened. Investigation is still ongoing. I will be reversing my one star review to a 3 star review. Tho I still think they need to train their management staff to handle things differently ( at the Montecito branch )
