Been a wells Fargo Customer for the past 18 years. I dont usually write reviews but this time I cannot keep quiet. Branch Manager Micheal Velasquez has has to be one of he most unprofessional managers I have ever dealt with in my 18 years of being a Loyal customer to the institution. I tried to withdraw money from a loan ( granted by them) and instead of being treated like a customer, I was spoken to and treated like a criminal in regards to my personal information not lining up. The details are long and I understand and appreciate concern but I can tell you this is not how a professional handles the situation. Instead of being a professional and giving me options to resolve the discrepancies with my information to facilitate the release of the money Micheal had no problem loosing me as a customer when I said I would close all my accounts. I said this because I felt discriminated with the way I was being treated. He never presented options in a kind manner and if anything he raised his voice and spoke to in an elevated tone ( like he was my father or something ). After 18 years of business I will be looking to take my business somewhere else or at least take most of my business to a bank that actually appreciates their customers and doest make them feel like criminals. I did tell him that its people like him why banks will die and blockchain technology will take over. I have also filled a complaint with Corporate ( something I have maybe done one other time in my life against any employee from any business ever). Wells Fargo needs to train their managers how to handle these situations in a much much much more kind a professional manner. Update : 1/30/26 I called Wells Fargo ( customer service) . They said the validity of my Identity should have never been questioned after I provided proper documentation. I provided my driver license and Debit card information. Makes me question even more If I was being discriminated against . Update : 2/1/26 I have been reached out by the Wells Fargo team to get an understanding of the situation that occurred. I also went to another branch and the branch manager was very nice and understanding ( I should have gotten her name ) she works on upper state street . Her and Christopher Cooper were so nice and apologized for the situation that occurred at the other Wells Fargo bank . From my gathering and speaking to other ppl in the company, they can't understand why things went down the way they did . I do appreciate that people in the company have taken the time to reach and see what happened. Investigation is still ongoing. I will be reversing my one star review to a 3 star review. Tho I still think they need to train their management staff to handle things differently ( at the Montecito branch ) read more

terrible zero customer service wouldn't help me do a wire transfer told me I could do it on my phone myself and wouldn't help me at all

Closing my accounts! Have been a customer of WellsFargo for over 12 years now and based on my interactions w/ management at this location - specifically a manager named Nick I'm done with them. I have 2 accounts + mortgages both personal and commercial with wells and I'm going to go through all the time consuming steps to sever ties with this institution on all lines of business. Ive additionally reached out to Alexi Rami who is the local group branch manager for Santa Barbara but he has also failed to even acknowledge calls and emails. Done with this bank - it obviously has zero respect for even long standing customers. read more

*Disclaimer* I was walking up at 5:59/6:00pm. Still, as I was 4 feet from the door one the employees stepped up and locked the door. She could clearly see me hurrying to make it in time through the glass door but closed up anyhow. This review is not meant for Wells Fargo as an institution as I love banking with them and I understand I should have arrived earlier. However, locking a customer out as you see them approaching is poor customer service. I've been with Well's Fargo for 3 years. Any time I need to communicate with them it is a Voyage Into Hell. Most recently I was locked out of my account because I was traveling. I was on the phone stuck on hold for 45 minutes, and then it took three representatives asking me the same repeated questions for 15 minutes each to unlock my account; they repeatedly lied to me in the process, were sarcastic, and were indifferent helping me as a customer. It is my impression that most if not all big banks are awful like this, so I will be searching for a small local bank that will at least acknowledge my existence rather than treating me like an termite or an amoeba. read more

One of the most unethical and self-centered banks in the world. They will not work with clients on lower interest rates on credit cards...even for longterm clients. During the disaster they did ZERO to assist residents financially by altering products etc. So many lawsuits against them now with millions in restitution to consumers. A year ago I'd have given them one star but they seem to have improved. I no longer have to wait in long lines and they are now competent and friendly. It's a bit odd that they ask alot of social questions but that may a millennial thing. I'm there for business, not idle chit chat. I hope that isn't rude but I'm not there to talk about my weekends and boring weather patterns with them. The safe deposit box guy is solid and competent and gets me in and out in a timely manner. I will never use them again for a refinance but as a local branch, it's fine and a convenient location for montecito residents. Parking is easy and it's serene inside. read more

Wow just saw a guy trying to get a check cashed from an account holder and from what I understand he didn't have a bank account. The teller treated this poor man very poorly. I was already considering moving banks after all the customer fraud, now I'm definitely finding a new institution to do my banking with. If they can't cash a check written from their bank whah are they going to do when more important matters arise. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible! First I open a business account and then 10 days later they close it, never ever happened before in 25 years of banking AND more recently I went in to cash a check, made out to me, they verified the funds, took my id, finger printed me and before I was about to get MY money they said there was a $5 fee. I said nope, this check is a "note payable" to me and on the check it doesn't say a note payable minus a $5 fee. It is not the $5 but the principle behind it. Wells Fargo is horrible. I will never use them again and would recommend you NOT use them either. read more

Been banking with WF for many years. Never had any issues. Their website is easy to use and Bill-Pay is beyond easy. Bank both personally and with my business. All is good. The East Valley office is easily accessible and the staff very courteous. Never paid any monthly service fee on any of my accounts. Highly recommend WF to all who want an excellent banking experience. read more
