I am actually a recently "old" employee of the Inn. I have worked there on and off since 2002. I am not a big fan of marriage (and the State of California won't let people like me get "married") but if I were to get married, the Inn would be a wonderful place. There are 3 reasons to consider the Monte Verde Inn as a place to get married. First of all, (a) The grounds are beautiful, (b) It's all included, and (c) the staff are there to serve you and your guests. I have worked at the Inn through 2 different owners, but the groundsperson remains the same. A lot of effort (and money) go in to maintaining and keeping immaculate the gardens of the Inn. It is breath-taking and gorgeous. Take a tour on their website (monteverdeinn.net) or visit in person to see what I am talking about. Weddings are a lot of work. Any new couple who has started the road down planning wedding can easily understand this. The second reason to get married here is because everything is taken care of. The cake, the flowers, the food, the ceremony cite, the wedding coordinator, the reception, and many more little "things" that will help it all go smoothly. When you're getting married, taking the pressure off is exactly what you need. The final reason, and the reason I am semi-partial too, is the fact that the staff is ready to help you with WHATEVER you need. There is the saying that sh*t happens, and quite honestly, it does. Not only will the staff take care of it, but they'll make it better. Simple as that. You really have nothing to worry about. From the chef to the dishwasher, everyone understands that this is your special day. The staff are a "background" but an integral part of making is all go smoothly. I cannot say enough about the Inn. While most jobs you work turn you against them, the Monte Verde Inn is not the case for me. The beauty, the all inclusiveness/worry-free atmosphere and the staff are simply my reason one should consider this venue. There are not enough words to describe how amazing this venue is. My husband and I got engaged and immediately started looking at outdoor venues in the area. Monte Verde Inn was the first venue we looked at, and I can tell you, there was no need to look at others. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted by Megan who knew exactly who we were, asked how our drive from Roseville was, and even went so far as to ask if we needed some water for the tour because it was so warm outside. The year of planning with the Monte Verde Inn was nothing short of perfect and EASY. Yes, easy. I know that is not a word many brides use, but Kelly and her staff made it just that. They were quick to respond to emails, answer any questions, as silly as they may have been, and even went so far as to send us friendly reminders about dates, deadlines, etc. because they knew how overwhelming managing all the vendors can be. Every request I had, Kelly and her team made it happen. They never told us "No" and they always reassured us that what we were asking was normal and that we were not crazy (as I often felt that way) The day went off without a hitch, and if there was one, they never let me know about it. My girls and I arrived at noon and Lindsey was out front waiting for us and escorted us up to the Bridal Suite where champagne was waiting for us and some cheese and crackers. We touched up makeup, got dressed, and began photos. The entire time before the ceremony, they were sure to offer us water, soda, and even allowed my friend to bring us some Subway so that we had something to eat since dinner was a few hours away. The ceremony was perfect and started exactly at 4pm SHARP. There was no time wasted. The dinner and food was amazing. I received and still do get comments about how amazing the food was. Everything from the appetizers during cocktail hour (which they have a server bring around to you while you are taking pictures and they leave you some at your seat at the head table) to the main course, and even the bread. Nothing was below 5 star quality. The servers never allowed our glasses to get below half way, and they were sure to grab my glass if someone asked me for a picture and they saw I was holding something that might spill on my dress. Every staff member was polite and friendly to our guests. They made it seem like they weren't even working, but just people there to help celebrate and make our day perfect. I will add that if you are looking for a fun alternative to the traditional wedding cake, Kelly makes amazing Cake Push Up Pops. They were the hit of the wedding. I think more people commented on those than my dress The ceremony was perfect, dinner was amazing, and the atmosphere for dancing, was to die for. There are not enough positive adjectives that I can use to describe this venue to everyone. I stumbled upon the Monte Verde Inn several years ago when I was helping a friend plan her wedding. Thankfully for me, her guest list boasted 300+ which was too large for MV. I had never been to the Venue before, but I just knew in my heart this was where I wanted to get married! My mom and I took a drive up over Mother's Day weekend in 2012 just to "check it out". My boy friend at the time hadn't proposed but we had been talking about it and I had hoped it was only a matter of time! The gardens were breath taking. I was hopeful to have a May wedding as well so seeing it first hand, almost a year in advance gave both my Mom and I good idea of what to expect for flower blooms. The house itself is very well manicured. Very timeless, and vintage. Exactly what I was wanting for my big day! When my bf proposed in July of 2012, we had only been engaged for about 24 hours when I called and spoke to Kelly who is the owner and coordinator at MV. She is very pleasant on the phone, and was extremely patient with me as I continued to call and email, even before getting engaged to ensure "our day" was available. Kelly and her team worked their magic on our day. Everything was perfect. The food was outstanding, the cake was delicious, and every detail was exactly how I had invisioned. My husband and I just celebrated our first anniversary and with tradition, we saved and kept the top tier of our wedding cake in the freezer and dove into it on our first anniversary celebration. I was shocked by how great the flavor had held. The cake itself still looked as pretty as it did a year ago. It wasn't dry or horrid, which I had heard stories from others about trying their cake a year later! I rank Kelly and MVI a 10 out of 10! I can not thank Tina and all her professional staff enough for making my wedding day absolutely PERFECT! Everything was just the way I imagined it would be, from the food and cake flavors, to the decor, to the customer service for our guest. They were so easy to work with! I never once had to stress about my wedding because they literally took care of EVERYTHING from providing the cake, open bar, center piece flowers with candles, gift table decor, cake table decor... To lining the bridal party up and telling us when to walk down the aisle. And anything I wanted extra, they set up and teared everything down. I wanted to do a follow up on my last review. My husband and I finally got married last month. We had the perfect day. It was a high of 72 and the venue looked amazing! The lawn has been extended from the side so it looks even bigger than before. On rehearsal day Alicia did a great job at making sure everyone know what their role was and put up with our families humor. As soon as I arrived at the rehearsal all my stress and worries went away. I knew the day was finally here and felt relaxed that the staff was going to take care of us. The day of the wedding everything went so smooth. The get ready rooms for the bride and groom were spacious enough to have the wedding party and family to get prepared. A friend of mine hired a day of coordinator and she said they felt rushed to get through all their events and weren't able to completely enjoy their wedding. This definitely wasn't the case for us. Alicia would check in with us to see if we needed our glass filled, a gentle reminder that the time is coming to thank our guests, and anything else we needed she was there and ready. She coordinated with the DJ and photographer so everyone was on the same page and the whole wedding went smoothly. I received many compliments on the food, the venue, and the cake. (You guys my hubs accidentally split my toe open during pictures before the ceremony and she got all the blood out of my dress in like 5 min. she is actually amazing hahah). She actually spoke to you like a normal person and didnt sugar coat anything! As the bride everyone is afraid to tell you "No" or give you any bad news but Kelly gave it to me straight. The day before my wedding she was watching the weather, she pulled me and my new husband aside and gave us the plan B. We had planned for an outside ceremony and reception but that wasnt looking like it was going to happen. She knew how bad we wanted to get married outside under her beautiful arbor and great big redwood trees that she held out hope and still set up for an outside ceremony. We knew an outside reception was out of the picture due to the rain that was forecast-ed. Luckily the rain stopped for the ceremony and we even got some sun that peaked out. It lasted until the dinner was served so thank you weather and thank you Kelly and the Monte Verde Inn team for making everything go smoothly. Now we planned for an outside reception but let me tell you that reception inside was amazing! We were all warm and the inn was set up beautifully! All the flowers from the ceremony outside were brought in and filled the Inn with color and life. The lighten was romantic and Kelly and her team set up the tables perfectly. I got married at the Monte Verde Inn at the end of March. The venue really begins long before you reach the Inn, on the drive through the evergreen mountains above the American River. It's a spectacular entrance. The Inn itself is absolutely gorgeous, but in a very real, country way, without the overblown feel of reality-tv-style weddings you sometimes see. They have an outdoor site where most receptions and nearly all ceremonies take place, and an indoor ballroom that I just adored, with all the crown molding, mantelpieces, huge wood-paned windows, and arched niches even the most architecturally-enthusiastic bride could want. The whole Inn is just so beautiful, not only photogenic but stunning in real life. I was supposed to have my ceremony outdoors and receptions indoors, but on the day of my wedding there was a big storm, with pounding rain and gales of wind, the whole bit. I am not one bit sorry this happened, as the ceremony in the ballroom was breathtaking, so much more gorgeous than I ever could have expected. Because of the rain, the ceremony, dinner, and dancing all happened in the ballroom, (there was also dinner in a glassed-in sunporch and bay-window adorned room connected to the ballroom) so we needed three different configurations for one room; the staff was flawless in their quick set-up and take-down. This is a nearly full-service venue, meaning they provide many flower arrangements and decorations, tables and chairs, linens and china, the food, and the cake, which was great for me as a full-time graduate student in the Bay Area. My mom says people went on and on and on about the food, and Kelly--she runs the place--baked a custom-designed cake inspired by hatboxes for me (check the pictures). The only thing we had to rent was extra chiavari chairs, because they only have about 72 and then they use white folding chairs, which are also nice but I didn't want guests to feel like B-listers with different chairs. If you want everything outdoors, you'll only want the white folding ones anyway because they go much better than chiavari in a garden setting. My brother is engaged and looking at venues now, and he feels like most of them don't compare. Apparently, most places do not have a changing/getting ready area for the groom. The Monte Verde has two huge suites--both very photogenic--for bride and groom. It is also really nice to have an indoor option you really like in case of rain--trust me, I know! read more

Red curtains, a peacock wedding cake, a horse for a baraat (we had a fusion east meets west wedding), mini-pies for favors, incorporating indian food into the menu...and so much more. Kelly & team take their jobs very seriously and with passion. The day of our wedding - it showed! Service was immaculate, organized and on time. Our guests marveled at the beautiful venue, service and ambiance with the romantic twinkle lights. We kept hearing it was the most beautiful, organized, magical & fun wedding that our guests have ever attended. They also raved about the food and how delicious it was. Came here as a guest for a wedding in November and the place is very charming and quaint. Pros: Very elegant and classic looking. Friendly staff, great food and a nice foothill location not too far out of Roseville/Sacramento. Cons: It's a small indoor venue, so if you have more than 100 guests during the winter, there isn't a lot of room inside. And there is not a hotel close by so if guests are drinking, a shuttle or a DD are a definite need at the end of the night. Overall, as a guest I really liked the Chinese chicken salad appetizer and the intimate feel of the ballroom. read more

My daughter's wedding took place there on September 1, 2018 and it was the most amazing day ever. It began in October of 2017, when we drove into the Monte Verde Inn and met with Lexi for the first time. We knew instantly that "this was it." Lexi is the event coordinator and is absolutely the best in the business - a true professional. From the first time we met, until we drove away at the conclusion of the wedding, she was there by our side to assist us with every detail, large or small. The venue could not be more beautiful. The grounds are breathtaking by themselves, but when "wedding day ready" it takes on a life of it's own. Lexi, Ali and the entire staff take care of everything the day of the wedding, so all the bride and groom have to do is show up and enjoy the moment. We had guests at the wedding from as far away as Connecticut, New York, Texas and South Dakota and everyone was in agreement that this was one of the most beautiful, most organized, most memorable weddings they had ever attended. I realize they hold countless weddings throughout the year, but Lexi made us feel like my daughter's was the only one. It was definitely the wedding she had always dreamed of. I simply cannot say enough about this place and even if I could my inability to articulate through writing would cause the review to fall short. Monte Verde Inn does weddings and is a B&B although I'm not clear whether they are a B&B independently of the wedding ceremonies or if the two are exclusive of each other. My wife decided that this would be the place that we would get married, she could not have picked a better place! The woman that runs the place, Kellie (unsure of spelling) is fantastic! Her personality seemed a bit dry and to the point during the planning stages but after seeing the outcome I realized that it was just her professionalism and experience that initially came across this way. She knows what she is doing and I had no clue! The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the food was fantastic! I never expected to hear so many people openly rave about Mushroom Risotto but it was certainly justified. The food is handled on site by the organizers husband who is a professionally trained chef and a fine one at that. I could go on and on about the detail but if you are looking for a great place to get married then you must put this on your list of places to try. If I could do my wedding over again, which I wish so badly that I could, I would have held my wedding at Monte Verde. I met with the owners the same day I went to the another venue in the same area to check it out, and the only reason I chose the other place was because of the ceremony site and the extra rooms for housing guests. After my experience at other venue in the area which has been an absolute nightmare, I want to give credit where credit is due. The area doesn't have much to choose from, but if you are dead set on having in the sierra foothills go with this place. They owners are wonderful, the place is gorgeous and it is SO much cleaner and prettier! I don't regret much in life, but this decision I made I do. I was married May 7th at the Monte Verde and the wedding couldn't have been more perfect! Kelly and the whole Monte Verde staff went out of their way to make everything run smoothly and keep me calm. From the first meeting with Kelly I was highly impressed with her professional attitude and willingness to help with whatever we needed. She provided us with a list of vendors they work with in the area and was honest about which of them she's gotten the best reviews on and we ended up using quite a few of her recommendations. The wedding day was perfect!! Kelly was right there all the time to keep everything on track and make sure we had what we needed. She even had her assistant Megan run to the bridal suite to get something for me when I had forgotten it. The food and service were absolutely amazing, the venue is beautiful, I still get compliments and have my guests telling me they have never been to such a perfect (and fun) wedding. I could not have asked for more. The real topper would be at the end of the night one of my bridesmaids, who was just a little drunk, stubbed her toe so bad it was bleeding. Kelly didn't hesitate, she grabbed some gloves, antiseptic, a band-aid and fixed up my friend's toe. That's a lot more than I would do for a total stranger. My husband and I heard about Monte Verde Inn through word-of-mouth, and decided to check it out for ourselves after researching numerous Napa Valley and Bay Area venues that were lovely, but completely out of our price range. We scheduled our visit a week before a site visit to a Napa venue, and about 5 minutes after our arrival, we knew we had to cancel the next week's appointment: our hearts were set on the Monte Verde Inn. We toured the grounds in the dead of winter, but the property was every bit as charming then as we knew it would be for our June wedding. We loved the ceremony space tucked under the redwood grove, and I daydreamed about dancing under those twinkle lights for the entire 20 months of our engagement. The property was full of prime photo opportunities, from the red barn to the little foot bridge to the patch of vineyards. The interior of the manor house was what really had me hooked: the ballroom was light and airy and quietly stunning, and would have made for a perfect plan b had it rained on our wedding day (as it happened, we used the space for our first encounter photos, and the room became a gorgeous backdrop for our most emotional moments of the day). And the bridal suite! And the grooms suite! They were completely perfect! Tons of room for all my ladies and moms to spread out our crap and have a party, but the lacey, light-filled bedroom made for beautiful bridal portraits. And the fact that we were able to spend the entire morning in the same space as the ceremony meant we could scratch off the need for a limo--hooray! With the help of Kelly Dalisa's masterful designer's eye and no-nonsense managerial mind, our wedding proved to be just as magical--and carefree--as we had hoped. MVI handled all the decor, and after a bit of input from us (which was all perfectly executed), our job was finished about 5 months out. Wedding planning stress? None here. The food, prepared with love on-site by Kelly's husband Doug, deserves its own paragraph: it was incredible. SF Food Snobs will be right at home here, as this is not typical wedding fare. Flavorful chicken, amazing prime rib, crazy portions, and tasty, tempting hors d'oeuvres. And the best part? After the necessary, but excruciating, 30 minutes of family photos during cocktail hour, my new husband and I were greeted to our own silver platter overflowing with hot hors d'oeuvres. Talk about a warm welcome: It's the details, people. And let's not forget the cake: Kelly bakes them all on site, and they are not only gorgeous, they are delicious. I've been staring at the box in our freezer containing our top tier, and I'm counting down the days until we can thaw it and enjoy it on our anniversary. Yum. We can't recommend the Monte Verde Inn highly enough to prospective couples. The setting, with its flowers, trees, twinkle lights, and the attention and care provided by Kelly, Doug and their team, ensured that the most special day of our lives was also the most memorable. WOW is all we can say about this venue. I was about to give up on the venue search and thank god I found this venue. We are big outdoors people and this venue was gorgeous with big trees but still oh so elegant. They have their preferred vendors. Martha our florist was spectacular. A lot of things are already included in the package so that was extremely helpful. We had 0 help from other family or coordinators other than Lexi so MVI helped keep it super simple!!! Speaking of coordinators, we don't even have the words for how AMAZING Lexi is. She is extremely organized, and As the biggest control freak ever I felt 100000% comfortable leaving everything in her control. She made the day run SEAMLESSLY . I truly appreciate that the coordinators work hard to make us a priority day of wedding and they make sure everyone knows it! :) from things as small as going to get us drinks from the bar so we didn't have to leave the dance floor, to putting my vans sneakers on when the heels became too much. We do not have enough good things to say about our experience planning and implementing our August 2016 wedding with the Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill, California. To be honest, our decision to even tour MVI stemmed mostly from seeing their delicious menu options on their website. Our tour was the Monday before Christmas and Tina, the lead wedding coordinator and really the face of the Monte Verde Inn, greeted us outside in the pouring, freezing rain. Even in the storm you could feel Tina's warmth, and we couldn't help but fall in love with the venue. It's so beautiful and has a little bit of something for everyone, including the Inn itself, the garden, vineyard, fountain, and red barn. From the moment we decided to sign the contract until our departure the morning after the wedding, everything was smooth and easy. We never second guessed our decision to have our wedding there, even when we learned that the business had been sold to another owner shortly after we booked with them. You couldn't tell the difference. Tina always communicated clearly and patiently, and the vendors they contract with are top notch. And even though Tina was too sick to work on our actual wedding day, we completely trusted the staff - especially Tina's assistant, Lexi - to make sure the day was amazing. The Open House was a good thing to attend before our planning appointment because it really helped us narrow down our food choices (there are so many). Needless to say, it really paid off on the wedding day: so many of our guests stated that their meal (spring greens with raspberry vinaigrette, prime rib, stuffed chicken, asparagus with pancetta, fingerling potatoes, and mushroom risotto) was the best wedding meal they ever had - and it was served buffet style! Part of booking with MVI means that your linens, utensils, chairs and tables, wedding cake and decorative floral (except the arch and personal flowers) is included with your main package. This means you have fewer vendors to seek out independently, which is awesome and reduces the planning stress big time! Cathy with Gimmie Cake Too (cake baker) did such a great job. We enjoyed our cake tasting and trusted her explicitly, and the staff at MVI said they had never seen cake disappear so quickly! Martha with Blooms by Martha (decorative floral) really listened to our vision and brought it to life. Our friends couldn't stop taking pictures of the floral arrangements! We also used MVI's preferred DJ, Joe Kalamaras (SJ's DJ) and boy, was that a smart choice! We LOVE Joe. We also chose one of MVI's recommended photographers, Jessica Roman (Jessica Roman Photography), and that beautiful and wonderful woman became this bride's saving grace. Talk about a wedding dream team!!! We strongly recommend Monte Verde Inn as your Gold Country wedding venue, especially if you are a couple wanting your special day to be beautiful, stress free, and memorable. My wife and I had our wedding at Monte Verde Inn in August 2017. Funny enough we found the venue through Yelp and as a joke we said we would check it out but once we got there we immediately fell in love with the venue. Our first visit was a rainy and gloomy day in January but nonetheless it couldn't take away from how beautiful everything was. We met with the coordinator, walked the grounds, talked about available dates, took a pamphlet and left. MVI is the perfect place if you want the backyard homey feel to your wedding. Its got lots of greens, big trees, flowers, a barn in the back, vines - perfect for anyone who loves the out doors and can appreciate nature. Before we even got home we knew we had to lock down a date and quick. At the time Tina was our coordinator and she walked us through everything. Tina was very understanding and easy to work with, she walked us through every part of the planning process leading up to the day of our wedding. We met with her once to sign the contract and talked about everything that would be provided and everything that we would have to provide or if we wanted to bring anything else in. At this point we felt very confident about how things were shaping up. Our 2nd meeting was to pick the linens, decorations, food, deserts, wines, talk about vendors and so on. It seemed like nothing could go wrong. Then we got news that made us worry, the one person who made us feel relaxed and added to the excitement of us having our wedding at MVI had suddenly left, worry started to creep up. I called and set up another meeting with our new coordinator - Lexi. Initially we were very worried and wanted to go over everything again to make sure nothing had changed and that nothing extra that we had worked out with Tina was going to change in the transition. As we started to go over the wedding day again with Lexi it because clear that we were in good hands. We had another meeting with Lexi to bring in our own decorations and see just how they would flow with the center pieces and dinnerware. Lexi was very helpful and accommodating. Always answered emails and phone calls, never once did I feel like I couldn't ask her even the silliest questions. Fast forward to our wedding day, everything was exactly how we had planned it. Tables arranged how we wanted, DJ was ready, coffee bar was set up, flipbook was ready, appetizers, flowers were incredible, perfect weather, not a single complaint! And if there were any issues, we wouldn't know about them and that is one of the best feelings you can have on your wedding day. In all honestly all credit for that goes to Lexi. She took care of everything, she even surprised us with a little time to ourselves to allow us to soak in the moment, our big day, and to this day my wife and I think about and cherish that small moment to ourselves. Monte Verde Inn is a spectacular venue. My husband and I, fell in love with the place, and couldn't have asked for a better place to get married. It is is serene, great weather, beautiful grounds, and amazing staff. We had a smallish wedding, with about 50 close family and friends. The wedding was a great success, thanks to the staff at Monte Verde Inn, especially Lexi. Lexi was very attentive to details, and understanding of our needs. The wedding day can be very busy and stressful, but Lexi took charge and kept everyone on task. She watched out for us, and our needs and coordinated everything, and everyone perfectly. Having an onsite wedding coordinator, like Lexi, at an all inclusive venue is the best decision we made. Alexis is calm and collected, but takes charge and get things done when needed. She has many years of experience, and was always ready with an answer or solution when needed. We had many little unique details at my wedding, and it was executed as we had wished. We had an absolutely amazing experience getting married at Monte Verde in May. The venue is beautiful and in the spring everything is blooming and adds to the beauty of the venue. We did both our ceremony and reception outside and we loved it. Food is included in the package as well as the cake and reception flowers. When we signed our contract with the inn, they had a different coordinator. About 10 months before our wedding, we were informed that the coordinator would now be Lexi. Initially, we were nervous but Lexi made the transition seamless. She was a big part of the reason that our wedding was so wonderful. She helped us so much leading up to the wedding and answered all our questions. Her and her assistant Ali helped make sure our wedding day went smoothly. They checked on us throughout the night, made sure we were fine with the timing, and made sure we were having fun! I photographed a Wedding there in August. It is amazing. The rooms are big and full of light and the grounds surrounding it are Beautiful. I have to say that it is one of my favorite places to Photograph a Wedding. Everyone is so nice, food is great. As i was there as a vendor and being there all day i saw it all. Everyone smiling and asking if they could get me anything. When we arrived they showed me around the grounds first hand and then later on acted like we were guest not a working identity. I wish I could think of a better word to describe how much I enjoyed working with them and how proud my husband and I were to get married at Monte Verde Inn. Kelly left us with a detailed packet of what we should have prepared for our planning meeting, and we were set to go from there! Our planning meeting was amazing. This was when we truly felt the pleasure of working with a one-stop-shop. In one meeting, we worked personally with Kelly to select our linens, napkin fold, cake flavor/decor, appetizers, entrees and centerpieces. Wow! We walked away from the meeting feeling truly accomplished and we were able to focus on the fine details, knowing Kelly had everything else covered! She truly helped us make a vision come to life. From there, we were in touch via email and I would run ideas by her. Kelly was always very prompt at responding and providing welcomed guidance. Kelly is a true professional and she was the perfect leader for our rehearsal and wedding day. As we walked on the property for our rehearsal, we were greeted with a warm hug and smile. She was always so excited to see us! Before we left for our rehearsal dinner, she confirmed that we all felt confident and she also collected all of the other fine details for the wedding. She was on it! I slept soundly the night before the wedding, not worried about one thing. When we arrived on the wedding day, we were again greeted with the warmest hugs, smiles, and finest service. As soon as us gals got into the (gorgeous/amazing) bridal suite, a staff member was asking if we would like champagne. From that moment on, Kelly and her team guided us through the most amazing day! She and her staff were extremely attentive and professional. Every base was covered, so Matt and I could truly live in the moment of our wedding day. All the details came to life even more beautifully then I could have imagined when we originally planned them. We were even surprised to see the detail she put into our candy bar, utilizing Matt's and my common bond of soccer (see photo for reference). Too cute! In addition, a fabulous member of the Monte Verde Inn staff, Megan, stayed along my side throughout the wedding and was helping me fluff my dress for photos, touch up my lip gloss, bustle my dress, provide me with a spare pair of shoes to dance the night away and before I could even say I was thirsty, she was there with a glass of water and champagne. Talk about service... Matt and I stayed at the Monte Verde Inn the evening of the wedding, and as we walked into our suite, there was champagne on ice waiting for us. It was the perfect way to end the evening! Pure perfection. We slept beautifully and were excited to meet with our family in the morning, as they were coming back to Monte Verde Inn to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast and share stories from the amazing wedding. Kelly and her staff hosted a beautiful breakfast and it was a wonderful way to wrap-up an incredible event. Before leaving, the Monte Verde Inn staff helped us carry some of our bags as Matt and I walked to our car. They were truly there to help, from the beginning to the end. When you get married at Monte Verde Inn, you are truly working with the best of the best. And not only are they the best at what they do, but they are truly caring people who want your day to be the best for you. We have received so many compliments on our wedding day, as everyone truly appreciated the fine details and gorgeous day. My husband and I got married at Monte Verde Inn on August 23, 2015! My husband is in the military and we had to plan the wedding in a short amount of time while he was home on leave. When I was searching for venues Monte Verde Inn came up in my search several times, the reviews were great and I fell in love with all of the pictures! So, we made our appointment to see the venue and meet with Kelly and Tina. We were so excited but I was a bit worried that the time crunch would be an issue(we only had 8 weeks to plan everything). From the moment I walked into Monte Verde Inn, Kelly and Tina were nothing but sweet and supportive. Not having my fiancé, at the time, here to help me with everything was difficult but Kelly and her team made it so easy and made me feel like a true bride even when I felt like a crazy mess! The staff was so helpful! My photographer even complimented them. She had an idea for a picture and needed a few tables moved right in the middle of them setting up, and the staff was more than happy to help! During appetizers, my grandfather wanted some grapes and although that was not part of the appetizers, the staff was more than happy to get him some! During pictures I was getting really warm, so Kelly came out with a frozen wash cloth and held it on my back for a few minutes so I could cool off and get back to pictures. The staff at Monte Verde went above and beyond to show that they care, even in the smallest of ways! My wedding day was an absolute breeze. I was able to sit back and enjoy every aspect of the night, because there was a staff member at our side whenever we needed them. The venue was beautiful (as always), the food was delicious, and everyone had a great time! Two weeks later and I still continue to get compliments on what a great wedding it was! MVI gave us the best day ever. Everything was absolutely perfect! Lexi is the mastermind behind it all and she ensures everything runs smoothly and she really thinks of everything down to the smallest of details. She is very easy to communicate with and was honestly there every step of the way, including the entire day/night of our wedding. We live out of state so the fact that they take care of most everything helped immensely. The venue is beautiful and intimate. We got married at the end of August and my biggest concern was the heat. It was a warm day, but by the time it was the ceremony, it had really cooled down and was not bad at all. We still can't stop talking about the day and we are so glad we chose MVI! As a Wedding Vendor with more than 20 years experience I look for other businesses that are professional and care about their reputation. I mention this as Monte Verde Inn is top notch in their approach and often times locations do whatever is easiest for them not what is right for the event to be a success. For me success is determined by the client via pre meetings to get organized. Not all events have to be dance parties as often guests just want to connect in other ways. So when looking through reviews by guests as opposed to clients one should remember that the client (Bride/Groom) often have made decisions that the location know of but not everyone else. I know lots of times people want to "help" by keeping Bride/Groom out of the loop if something bad happens on their day but the opposite is true. Bad things can be kept from becoming horrible by quick action and often telling a member of the bridal party who then needs to relay the information accurately to Bride/Groom can fail. Especially if they explain the solution wrong. Were it my Event I would want to be aware of every aspect. Sadly most events do not hire Coordinators anymore so people like myself or owners of Monte Verde need to wear that hat as well. Not so bad considering that we will be judged by the events success. Me more so than the location as often DJs get blames for problems beyond their control or decisions made by others. In conclusion my main point is Monte Verde Inn has been more than flexible with me several times in my attempts to create perfect events for clients. I recommend them without hesitation and wish to point out I am not being paid for this comment nor on a special list of recommended vendors. read more

In my years as a member of Yelp, I think I've only posted one other review. This is to say that I won't post something unless I feel strongly about it, whether positively or negatively (and probably that I am not a very helpful member of Yelp :-/). My best friends got married at the Monte Verde Inn last week. I should say upfront that the wedding was beautiful, the property and the Inn are gorgeous and well taken care of and we didn't have any obvious problems during the ceremony. However I wouldn't say that everything went off without a hitch, as it should have. The bride and groom, the rest of the bridal party and myself all arrived earlier in the week for the rehearsal. I should preface this by saying we're a younger group, all in our early twenties, but by no means children, as is evidenced by the several thousands of dollars in cash my friends paid to have their wedding there in the first place. Additionally, when we left the Inn at the end of the wedding, not a single thing was broken, out of place, damaged, what have you. Everything was exactly as we'd found it (thanks, in no small part, to the bride, who went through the rooms and picked up every towel and made every bed and threw out all of the trash before we left). But from the moment we stepped foot in the Inn, we were infantilized, treated as if we couldn't be trusted, yelled at to "pay attention" during rehearsal, reminded to shut doors and not get too loud and all of those other things young adults, such as ourselves, are apparently wont to do. None of us are children, none of us are immature enough to not understand how to conduct ourselves in a public environment, let alone one that's like someone else's home, but we were treated as such from the beginning, which I found to be incredibly disrespectful and immediately off-putting. As the Maid-of-Honor in the party, I also wanted it to be my responsibility to make sure neither the bride nor the groom had to worry about any minute details leading up to their ceremony. I went up to the owner of the Inn as soon as we arrived, introduced myself and asked her to please let me know if there were any issues, instead of taking them to the couple. Of the issues that did arise (and the owner had a few, considering what an irresponsible group she found us to be), she did not come to me once. Every single time she had a problem, she went to either the bride or the groom, leaving them overwhelmed and stressed out. And all of this was just the beginning - when some bridesmaids were entering the Inn with their own luggage, they were asked to open the door for the owner, instead of the other way around; when my heel broke immediately following the ceremony, I was told to just go put on some flip-flops; when the head table for the Best Man and Groomsmen began sinking into the grass, forcing the guys to hold it up with their knees, and a brick proved incapable of holding it up, they were told, "Oh well, we tried." Again I will say that the wedding was beautiful - it's a gorgeous location and the cake (which was made by the owner) was perfect. But the service was horrible. The bridal party was treated disrespectfully, and when someone is paying you upwards of $10,000 to host their wedding, excellent customer service is an integral part of the package. I would recommend anyone keep that in mind before deciding to have their wedding here. read more

We had such a wonderful experience with my daughter's October wedding. From start to finish, my daughter was pleased with the communication with the coordinators. They have this down to a science. We were so well cared for and led through the ceremony with precision. We were informed when to do it, where to do it and how to do everything. The food service was excellent and tasty. The dressing room is spacious and has all the necessary provisions for getting ready. ((large sitting area, separate space for hair and make-up, bathrooms). I'm sure the staff were exhausted by the end of our evening but were still so helpful with some special requests (some first aid, providing a phone to call a taxi) The venue is beautiful and the upstairs accommodations are perfect for the wedding party to stay overnight. As Mother of the Bride, I had absolutely no complaints and was so grateful to Monte Verde Inn for helping us with a stress free and special day to remember. read more

I attended a family wedding at the Monte Verde Inn. I attended a rehearsal and then the wedding the next day. The wedding coordinator-manager seemed professional, but a bit brusque. Since I had volunteered to videotape the ceremony, I asked The coordinator, Kelley, about optimal multiple-camera placement after the rehearsal. She kind of blew me off and told me to ask her the following day when the chairs were set up. Uh, okay. The ceremony and reception was held outdoors for 140, which I think is close to the maximum number they could comfortably hold. The lighting appeared nice for photographs. In early July, it was hot, but by the early evening, when dinner started, the dining area was largely in the shade. The staff was professional. While the location is attractive, it is not drop-dead amazing. The wedding ceremony site doubles for the dance floor. The concrete bricked floor is not ideal for dancing, but it is workable. I had chicken for dinner (see photo). It was adequate, nothing special. My wife had the steak, which was better, with a tasty sauce on it. The wedding cake, which I was told was ordered from the location, was disappointing. The white cake tasted adequate, but was again nothing special. The chocolate cake was dry and boring. It wasn't the kind of delicious cake I have come to expect at weddings. Reading all the five star reviews raised my expectations for the place. Maybe it is a good value and that is the source of the enthusiasm. read more

Everything from its incredible outdoor space, to the amazing vendors/staff, to the unforgettable food, will be the talk of our family and friends for years to come! The most valuable part of the Monte Verde Inn is the wedding coordinator herself- Lexi. Despite our million and one questions and changes, Lexi was always available and flexible and willing to accommodate our desires. Throughout the entire process, we admired Lexi's ability to be honest and realistic at all times. We never felt pressured into anything and appreciated her ability to navigate us towards practical dos and don'ts. On the day of the wedding she truly was the only reason why everything ran smooth! My husband and I never stressed because we knew Lexi would handle it all- and she absolutely did! Thank you Lexi and all the Monte Verde Inn staff for helping us achieve our dream wedding!! Since Sunday Will (my now husband) and I have been trying to decide how one describes the Monte Verde Inn. We never could come up with a simple description so here goes my lengthy description. I am in my mid 30's and one of the last of my friends to get married. I have watched all the pitfalls and problems they all faced. Kelly makes sure early on that you do not fall into those traps and every detail is handled. They thought of everything. Some have mentioned Kelly's "exactness" (as I would call it); this is a GOOD thing. You want someone who actually knows what they are doing and is not willing to settle for anything less. Throughout the day Kelly and crew kept keeping up with everything. I never had to worry about what was happening, I just needed to get pretty (which is all a bride should do on her wedding day) Oh and I loved the fact we had a waiter bringing us food and drinks FIRST!!!!!! The cake was awesome, food awesome, venue so well kept and only getting nicer (we noticed lots of improvements over the year we have been planning) Oh and your are silly to not go with their "A" team. Make it easy on yourself and hire all their preffered vendors. They are connected via walkie talkie to each other. They know what is going to happen next (and Barry from Ford Family kept me clean well fed and always had a drink in hand) I could go on for hours about the "extras" I never asked for that were given. If it was an option I would have given 4 1/2 stars:) I got married at Monte Verde in August 2009. Overall the experience was very good. We found them on the Knot and they were the first and only placed we looked! We are from the Bay Area so to find a venue that took care of so many details all from one place was amazing. Here is a quick breakdown of the place: -The grounds/Inn: Beautiful and our guests thought the place was incredible. Also, it looks FABULOUS in pictures -Price: Super reasonable -Organization from Co-ordinator (Kelly & Assistant Katie): Great -Food: Out of this world! I kept hearing this was the best wedding food ever. -Cake: Absolutely delicious. Kelly makes all of the cakes and it was a crowd pleaser. -Alcohol: Good, but it was a down fall that they do not serve hard liquor only beer, wine and such. -Hospitaltiy: The serving staff was really nice on the wedding day and Katie the Assistant was super great and helpful. The owner Kelly is a tough cookie. She is super organized and thorough. During the planning process she made me a bit nervous because she is super dry and can be very serious. Her cool demeanor was unnerving because it had me worried about how she might be on the day of the wedding and how that could affect me. I will say she really came "alive" the day of the wedding. She was the most friendly she had been the whole time, ran a VERY smooth ship and me and my husband were very suprised/relieved! -Open House: Gives you a great opportunity to meet all of their recommended vendors and taste the food etc...an experience that will get you really excited about the big day.
