Do yourself a solid and make reservations multiple days in advance - They were able to squeeze us in on a Fri evening in their upstairs dining/bar area, which offers a redacted menu from the primary downstairs area - Despite the limited menu, we found plenty to snack on while we enjoyed a bottle of Rioja. The eats were amazing! We had: marinated olives, the cheese plate (my personal fav - A ton of options and all were delicious), potatoes with red sauce, and the lentils with cream fraiche - Plus they bring you complimentary bread. We couldn't get in last night but our plans tonight were cancelled so we gave Monte Christo a call and we're happy to get a table. We were not disappointed! The staff were fabulous - it was busy and it's a Spanish restaurant - don't expect to get in and out in an hour. Even if you do, you're wasting an enjoyable night not taking your time at this gem. Loved the meatballs, bbq chicken and crispy potatoes with cucumber sauce. We ordered the Serrano ham on grilled bread - we were getting full so we skipped the bread. The artichoke tapas was the only thing we ordered that didn't make us go "wow!". The volcano chocolate cake, though.... WOW! We were treated to an impromptu love music performance by a band that was going restaurant to restaurant. It was a fun evening. Also, priced really reasonably. read more

Excellent Spanish place!! We were so eagerly received by the staff we order close to 10 tapas plates. The waitress Ismet was lovely and suggested a great wine for our courses. Nice little tapas bar in a side street of Baden-Baden. Take the few little steps downstairs and you are right in the middle of the action. The smallish place is decorated like your usual tapas bar anywhere around the world but thankfully the food is good. It's surely recommended. For a start they've got San Miguel beer, yay! That's always a bonus. (A bottle costs 3.20 Euro, ouch! But after all it's Baden-Baden, Money City!) Their choice of tapas consist of many different things but the usual little Spanish meal would cost like Olives 3.90 Euro Guacamole & bread 5.20 Euro Manchego 3.90 Euro Chorizo 4.90 Euro Pata Negra 8.90 Euro Papas Arrugadas 3.90 Euro Also they have got a nice (daily? weekly?) varying offer written down on a blackboard. One of the highest post in Baden-Baden so it kinda set our mind to give it a try. We arrived 7.30pm and was greeted by the waitress, we were also informed that we have to vacate the table by 9pm. We ordered two Rioja (red wine) as a start and ordered some famous tapas. Ambience is good and great music. The restaurant starts to filled up from 8 onwards. We didn't need to wait for long until our food were served... The food in general was so so, not sure why it is a hit. Probably I have tried the original tapas in Spain and London where they served more authentic one. Was quite disappointed when the bill came, 96 euro for 2? I rather spend the money in nearby hotel restaurant which serves probably more standard dishes. The best dishes is the pork cheek and the rather disappointing dish is the octopus in garlic oil. I thought they could have done a more authentic one with just polpo in oil but not a over grilled stir fry with garlic, spring onion and tomatoes. We were shocked with the bill.... Anyway probably is a good place to hang out... watch out for the menu which says: sangria, strong flavor and wenig alkohol (not sure who will buy that one) :-) enjoy tapas. read more

I wend here with several friends during a bachelorette weekend. We were looking for a place with good food where we can find something for everyone, and of course, good wine! Everyone loved this place! The tapas were absolutely amazing and definitely deserve all the stars they can get! It's difficult to recommend something because everything was so delicious, you really can't pick anything wrong! Apart from this, the service was really friendly and helpful! It's not a big place, rather intimate, but nicely decorated witch makes for a nice atmosphere. If you're ever in Baden-Baden you should try it! read more
