It was not a beautiful day but the lighthouse was still worth the visit. Lots of information and great views at the top.

The views are wonderful but the $28 bucks for a couple of seniors seemed too much for an outside lighthouse view and museum and 'no options' parking. Of course parking was free for New Yorkers so that is somewhat better.

Sadly, the lighthouse was closed during the weekday as we were too early in season. We figured the lighthouse itself would be closed and we'd still be able to get closer, but there is a large fence preventing you from walking up. The parking lot has a couple of tower viewers where you can insert $.25 to get a close-up of the lighthouse and surrounding area (the one on the left is broken). There's large parking lot with an Info center, kids playground, and picnic tables. Thankfully, the very clean restrooms were open, even though everything else was closed. Open on weekends 10:30 - 4:30 weather permitting.

This is a beautiful and serene lighthouse. Came back a third time with some friends visiting town and despite the rainy weather, we had a great time exploring the grounds. I wish the ticket had an option without the tower as it was closed due to bad weather and they weren't clear about that being the case on entry. Happy the funds go towards supporting this place but that would help with accessibility too.

I've heard about Montauk before, but when one of my Yelp friends showed me pictures I knew I had to come see it for myself! I love a good drive and this trip did not disappoint. I made it just in time to catch the most beautiful sunset and the weather was perfect. I was able to take some amazing pictures and there was plenty of parking which made everything super easy. From the lot there's a little walk through the beach area that just adds to the whole experience.Sadly the lighthouse was closed when I arrived so I'll definitely be coming back earlier next time to actually go inside. But even just seeing it from the outside and experiencing the area was worth it. Who knew there was such hidden beauty out here? I'm already planning my next trip back!

The area around the lighthouse is scenic as well, the Paumanok Path has great views of the lighthouse and the water. If you come before 8am or after 4pm, you don't have to pay $8 for parking. It's $15 to enter the lighthouse and the grounds around it. It opens at 10:30am though. You don't need to pay admission to go to the restroom or the gift shop though.

Lots of history on Long Island and the Montauk Point Lighthouse holds its own wealth of historical information. Take the climb.

It's beautiful with the blue skies and ocean back drop. There are seats around the light house. The staff were all friendly and seemed to enjoy working at this historical landmark. It was interesting to see the Native American history and keeper artifacts. We climbed the narrow stairs to the top to see the view. It was a cool experience.

We couldn't get as close bc it was closed but it wasn't too far away either!

We visited the Montauk Lighthouse after 4pm, so unfortunately the museum was already closed . On the bright side, parking was free which was a nice surprise! We brought a picnic lunch, found a spot to enjoy the view, and then walked around to take in the lighthouse and the beautiful water. Even without going inside, it was such a peaceful and refreshing experience. Definitely worth the trip--next time we'll make sure to come earlier so we can explore the museum too!

One of the reasons why Long Island is one of the greatest places. Yea it takes a while to get here, but the views are worth it. There's not much to say because you have to experience this for yourself. The lighthouse itself is accessible and if you can walk up it, I highly recommend it. A playground is stationed nearby if the kids get bored. Overall a must when going all the way to the end.

I popped out to Montauk for a quick 24 hour trip. Of course I had to visit "The End" lighthouse. As always, it is inspiring to look out and see the vast ocean and watch the waves crash on the rocks. It is the miss of winter but the amenities are still open, especially the bathrooms which were very clean. Although you can't go up to the lighthouse itself temporarily, it was a magical place

So many trails for hiking around the lighthouse. Look forward to exploring more in the future.

Montauk Point Lighthouse has a fascinating view of the Atlantic Ocean and the end point of Long Island. It's worth paying $15 USD to enter where you can explore the gift shop, museum and then climb the 100 steps in the lighthouse. The gift store is really catchy with some beautiful merchandises and book collection at affordable prices. If you purchase an item then you'll get 10% off should you decide to dine at George's lighthouse cafe. It's located about a 5 minutes walk from the lighthouse entrance. The history here is impressive and tells the story of the many lighthouse keepers and their family. Here is where the British soldiers dominated during the American Revolution war. There is this huge space with nice well groomed green grass and lots of benches to rest and enjoy the view. I see family enjoying fruits and light snacks on the ground. It's a nice place to explore if lighthouses is your thing. And I recommend going off peak season to avoid the tourist crowd.

Peaceful and a worthwhile trip through the Hamptons to the tippy-tip of Long Island. Would repeat.

It's the type of building that makes you want to give it a big hug, if only your arms were long enough Built over a hundred years ago as the village firehouse, it also did duty as a church before finally settling in as home to the Flavin Art Institute. How cute is it? Look at the address: Corwith Avenue off of Main Street. The official address is nothing but an intersection. That is seriously small town. The museum houses nine of Flavin's flourescent lighting sculptures. That's right, I did say "flourescent lighting sculptures." It's an amazing medium that Flavin playfully embraced for much of his career. By manipulating the colors and intensity of the lights, Flavin is able to extend each sculpture beyond it's direct physical presence, such that every nook and corner of the museum acquires its own mood. Because the museum is dedicated to Flavin, the works can be installed in a way that they are seen to best effect. If you know Flavin from other museums, come here to see his art taken to the next level of intensity. The museum also has a gallery that houses temporary exhibitions. When I was there, the exhibition was "Dan Flavin and the Hudson River School" and it included his drawings and paintings of the Hudson River, as well as works by artists who had influenced him during this phase of his career. It was fascinating to see, so different from the light sculptures that made him famous. If you come, plan some other activities. The museum is small and even if you linger, you'll likely be done within an hour. If nothing else, take the time to explore the small shops of downtown Bridgehampton. Bottom line: for art lovers who are in the area, the Flavin Institute should not be missed. For people already admire Flavin, it is a must-see, even if you do have to travel for a day.

Visit Date: June 25, 2021…read more I came here with my son and dad for part of his birthday celebration. We were the only ones in the museum at the time so the clerk who checked us in gave me son extra attention and showed him different things he could do upstairs. When we went down the touch tank, the person watching over and helping with the touch tank Milo was really awesome. The clerk upstairs was really awesome to but I don't remember her name. He took out a turtle that they have to keep at the nature center for my son to look at as a birthday surprise he was very attentive and nice to my son. We didn't get to hike the trails nearby although when I'm with my son the hiking is kind of limited. I want to come back one day to hike the trails here. We went outside on the deck for awhile which was nice. This is a beautiful and interesting museum worth going to.

It may be small but it is mighty! However, it is important to note that we had "THE" BEST tour guide - Sandra. Not only was she full of interesting facts & information, she clearly loves what she's doing. I would love to visit again just to hear her share her knowledge and experiences with the wild life here on Long Island. After our tour of the museum, we ventured out to the turtle house and endless trails in the preserve. We saw a baby osprey in the nearby nest as well as quite a few deer as it was dusk. Be careful of ticks and chiggers.
