Also, they really, really like the Habs. The food: I ordered a filet mignon, which I did not get. Whatever cut of meat they served, it was not what I ordered. It came with a "tossed" salad, which consisted of iceberg lettuce and two pieces each of tomato, cucumber, carrot, and celery sitting on top. My friends ordered burgers which came completely plain and tasted like they were from M&M - nothing wrong with M&M but the restaurant prides themselves on home-made everything. Overall it was expensive and not enjoyable. I would highly recommend instead going to the Keg for steak and Five Guys for burgers (comparable prices and Much better food). Sorry Beef and Barrel, not good.

What a fantastic restaurant! A good reason to head downtown Brandon. Was a great experience!…read moreThe five of us went there tonight to celebrate a birthday. Only one person in our group was there prior, but only during lunch. I had attempted to book a reservation via their website. Received a confirmation email that they received my request, but never an actual confirmation for our reservation. We arrived at 1730, no record of our reservation, but not a big deal as we were seated in a nice big booth. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor! Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect mainly because of the location. Our server was super friendly, probably one of the best servers we have had in a long time. Drink orders were taken. Shortly after the owner Benny came to apologize to us about our reservation! Said he has been having issues with the reservatioservice. We ordered Calamari for starters. The Special (BBQChicken Breast and Ribs (1/2 rack) Classic Burger and fries Steak Sandwich (med rare) w/ Caesar salad Chicken Strips w/fries And Lamb Shank. Fantastic! The only complaint/criticism was with the Ribs and Chicken. The sauce seemed generic, as it came from a big "Kraft" jug. This place should make their sauce pop, and be remarkable! Very bland, forgettable, was kinda "meh"ish. The other meals were really good. The steak sandwich was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The burger was delicious! The lamb was above expectations! Our server offered the Birthday recipient an option of deserts, and was accepted, and chose turtle cheesecake that was devoured! Really yummy, and a nice touch from the restaurant! We will definitely return! Thanks Benny's! Fantastic! Update (12 Oct 2018) Went there tonight for an evening out with friends....absolutely fantastic! 2x Chorizo Burgers - awesome 1x CLASSIC CARBONARA - delicious 1x Prime Rib Med Rare - the best I have personally had in years! The skillets come out sizzling. My mushrooms and some of the sirloin where charred from the skillet being far too hot. My wife had a similiar experience with her onions being charred. Manager came out and spoke to us and comped several items & that was nice of him. He listened to our comments as they do seem to want to improve. IMHO they have a very, very long way to go. Bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes & coffee is about $17.00 + tax. The kids menu has two $8.00 item choices. The $3.00 coffee, sausages and the pan-fries were good. There is no "Normal" menu item of "Bacon, eggs, toast & pan-fries" listed, but possibly available à la carte for even more. Food came out fairly slowly even though it was not very busy. Will not be trying it again as the price was way too high and the quality was too low. See photo for what the $14.00 breakfast looks like (minus the two pancakes). Add coffee for a $17.00 breakfast! The feeling at our table was "Almost any other restaurant in Brandon would be considerably cheaper and better quality".
