Yes, ammo and gun accessories are sometimes more expensive here than at Walmart or Scheels--it's not a Big Box store, hence it will be more expensive on some items. So those comments obviously came from a moron. It is a locally owned shop and the service at Mitchell Supply is 10 fold better than you'll generally get at Scheels or Walmart. If you're a Walmart shopper--go to Walmart. I, for one, shop at locally owed businesses and don't want to have to listen to your idiotic drivel when I am shopping. I also read one of the reviews that said this shop is geared towards "assault rifles". Just another moronic statement. The person that made that statement is obviously uninformed where guns are concerned and should probably take a class or two from a qualified firearms instructor--which can also be accomplished at Mitchell Supply. The shop is geared toward modern sporting rifles, such as the ArmaLite Rifle 15 (AR-15) but also sells other guns. The term "assault rifle" is applied to rifles that can accomplish selective fire between semi-automatic (one shot per trigger squeeze) AND fully automatic SELECTION (squeeze and hold the trigger to empty the magazine AUTOMATICALLY). That being said, challenge yourself to go to Mitchell Supply and buy a fully-automatic rifle. Once you've done that, you'll find the shop can probably help you out after you have processed all of your legal paperwork with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and paid the government's imposed fees for the entire affair in accordance with the National Firearms Act (NFA). Yes, you CAN purchase a fully-automatic rifle in the United States once the government has said it's okay--but that is NOT the target market of this shop. Before you buy any gun from any store, first inform yourself or hire someone to inform you. Do some research and confirm the research. (Maybe take a class on how to do viable research.) Otherwise, when you make stupid statements, whether on Yelp or other online venue where we can all read your reviews FOREVER, or when we can overhear you making boastful and equally stupid statements in real-time at Walmart or Scheels or even Mitchell Supply--expect to be challenged by someone that actually has done the research, has actual real world experience within this area of expertise, and is actually sick and tired of hearing the completely obtuse ramblings of utter morons that learn everything they know (about seemingly everything, not just guns) from Hollywood insiders and leftist television news networks which have ALSO FAILED in the research department at ALL aspects of subject matter. I can guarantee that any locally owned business will appreciate your business. I can also guarantee that no one at Walmart or Scheels has the same level of knowledge in their individual departments as you'll find at most locally owned specialty shops and people who purchase similar items at Walmart and Scheels have decided that big box stores are the way to go, until it's too late to recognize that eventually there's no competition. Once that day arrives, business people call that a monopoly and business people also know monopolies bring exorbitant prices. Good luck, socialists pig! As for the comment regarding the political climate at Mitchell Supply, it just goes to show that the person that wrote the comment believes other people are not entitled to an opinion. Well, that's too bad. Whoever you are, you have solidified your opinion by making stupid statements. If you decide to revisit Mitchell Supply, please consider wearing your sign.
