This store is definitely one of the nicest granite and stone shops in the Tampa Bay area. It is run by a woman, Franzi, who knows exactly what she is doing - and as she is the buyer for most of the slabs, she is very knowledgeable about them. Their warehouse is clean and huge, with more granite options and selections than I ever could have imagined. It is all very organized and neat, with slabs clearly marked as to what price range they fall into. Unlike other stores, you walk around on your own, and make notations as to what you like, although the personnel are more than willing to offer suggestions, too. Their website is amazing also, with a complete list of what is currently in stock. I love that they have multiples of almost every granite slab, all carefully numbered so you can be certain to get two slabs, if necessary, with similar colors and patterns. We recently remodeled our kitchen. We purchased the Marble countertop from Mont Krest Stone. The installer processed and started to install a similar but incorrect countertop. We stopped him. He was polite and investigated more into the mix up. It turns out that Mont Krest places a sticker on the slabs to identify the color and the customer. When the installer returned to his shop on a saturday, He discovered the error was on his part and not Mont Krest. This was invaluable to avoid a bad situation. Great Work Guys. The sales woman was not helpful or kind last weekend and I let it go. Today when I'm there to select my slab because I'm obviously giving them my business her behavior was pretentious and belittling, so I left. Disheartening when you are excited about a remodel and someone tries to strip that moment away from you with so little disregard for the person, let alone I'm the customer. read more

Renovating a kitchen, even though not an entire renovation is scary. You can do your homework and think you're ready to tackle the project, but if you select the wrong products, it could be an epic failure. This is where Mont Krest Stone comes into the picture! My friend and I went to look for quartz for the countertops. Hint: take someone whose opinion and taste are in alignment with yours....makes the process much smoother! Anyhow, Debbie and I went to two stone businesses and were amazed at the selection we could peruse. If you aren't good at making decisions, hire a decorator! We were able to ignore the bad and the ugly as we were seeking out the good. Mont Krest Stone personnel are on point as soon as you step inside. A warm greeting, sign in so they know who they are dealing with and then a brief description of the pros and cons of the varying stones they carry. This was somewhat boring as I had done my homework and THEN... escorted into the vast warehouse with rows and rows of stone slabs. Our hostess gave us a mini grocery cart to carry my kitchen drawer and floor sample to match, plus a clipboard where we could list the name, location and purpose of the stones we liked. It was the best!!!! We both zeroed in on the same two stones and wanting to see if they would work together, they kindly hoisted one stone and brought it over so we could see how incredible they worked together!!!! My friend then found some innovative material to use to renovate her bathrooms so the day was a total win/win!!!! We were so impressed with the entire experience that I now look forward to the renovation!!!!!!! read more

This place is gorgeous and selection is massive! What a great experience my husband and I had working with Shannon!She is very knowledgable and seems to have a really passion about what he does. Shanon was also less concerned about closing a sale and more concerned about how it would look in our kitchen and wanted to ensure we would love the slab! She gave us an idea to come back and bring in a cabinet door and our flooring sample in order to get a feel for what it would look like prior to selecting the slab. She had some great advice on colors and the patterns and even where the seams will be less visible in our particular kitchen. These people were very helpful while I was looking for granite for my kitchen they had many selections and checked with me frequently to see if I had found anything I wanted. There's show room and warehouse was well lit and I was able to easily read the types of granite and stone that was available and the woman said if I took pictures she would immediately know which granites they were. The material sold to us was nice. However, there is definitely something wrong with the arrangement Mont Krest (MK) had with our fabricator/installer. MK wouldn't tell us the price of the material. They said, "You can only get a quote from "your" fabricator/installer." STOP and go elsewhere if any supplier tells you that. We couldn't shop around because the material we chose was not available anywhere else. We had no idea what was about to happen. We needed 1.5 slabs to do my 59 sq ft kitchen countertop. After spending $9000 for the Kitchen (one sink with lowest cost straight eased edge) I expected that the remaining 1/2 slab was mine. I wanted to do my bathroom, too. Oh no, not your material says the installer. The installer claims HE paid for the remaining 1/2 slab. Really, the installer absorbed the material cost? He claims that our $9000 only covered the 59 sq ft we needed. That adds up to $152.00 per foot material and labor. He also claims that a truck backed into our 1/2 slab crushing it and is now no longer available. I believe I was tricked by the installer BC Granite and Mont Krest. Stoneworks ended up installing our bathroom perfectly. They received a shipment of the same stone we used. I asked Stoneworks for a simple non binding estimate, 59 sq ft, one sink and flat eased edge without seeing my finished kitchen. "About $6,000 complete". Afterward, when I questioned the the Mont Krest representative. It was obvious that she was protecting the installer as she couldn't elaborate on the subject. Buyer beware. read more
