Stopped in to look at some Funko Pops and ended up starting our Pokémon trading journey. We've seen a lot of people trading and going to event in the area so we ended up talking with a few people inside the store and decided to buy our first pack of cards. Nothing too crazy just wanted to see what we might pull. Had no idea what we were looking for or what was cool or not but one of the workers looked over our cards and told us that there was a decent card to trade and went the extra mile and put it in a sleeve for us which made my son really excited to move forward with Pokémon card trading. Great experience and they mentioned they do have trading days on Saturday in the afternoon as well. read more

Very dodgy pricing. Cards were labeled as having one price but at the register they had a higher price. Shady. Best to avoid them. Overall scammy place, and that is NOT a feeling you want when buying cards. As mentioned elsewhere staff were very rude as well. read more

Time for me to add a review for deceiving customers on Black Friday. If you were in-person you would notice that not all boxes for one product were marked down. At the top of the shelf they had a separate pile of non-marked down product for Black Friday. I've shopped here before and usually they just pull from the top the Owner of the shop was picking a box from the cheaper/marked down set for Black Friday and was advertising a sale that was deceptive to likely get rid of bad product. I caught them doing this for packs and other products as well, when I last came in store they pulled packs from the top as it should be, no bs, no games, but nope they were taking time to pull from the middle and had multiple packs/boxes in hand to sort them from heavier to lighter or if marked down and not marked down. Be warned to not shop here on Black Friday or any other large sale because they were deceiving me when I caught that. Prismatic Surprise Boxes, Prismatic Poster boxes had two piles non-marked down and marked-down they were selling bad product yesterday and of course as I suspected nothing was in it; the stickers on the boxes likely had a label which was on top of each pile so they knew which ones to sell which absolutely insane when you are already charging 30% on top of MSRP that includes the "discount for black friday". Usually, it's 70% or even more than double MSRP. Shop at BWA Trading and Sports Cards if don't want issues like these, they are trustworthy, do grading too and provide many more services and you know product is genuine as well. read more

Ascended heroes just dropped today... Only 3 pack blisters dropped for $15. This place blatantly told me they bought the 3 pack blisters just to rip them open and sell them for $16.99 each. Very disgusting how they operate. You can tell the owner of the store doesn't have any knowledge about anything he is dealing with, just relying on his employees to basically tell him what is a smart money move. DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING ANY BUSINESS HERE!!!!! read more

I can describe this place in 2 words. Nerd Heaven. There is an INTIRE WALL just dedicated to videogames old and new and funko pops. The service is good and the prices too. They can start by marking up the SIR prices at what they should be. Charged me 2-3 dollars above what the card cost, and then when you ask to negotiate they shoot you down because they know what they're doing is wrong. Then they throw taxes on top. Prices are good for etbs but marking up SIRS leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

DO NOT BUY/SELL HERE! These guys will scam you at every turn. They marked a card with a lot of whiting as LP, I asked if they could do a deal they refused. I ended up purchasing the $200 card as it was one I was missing from a set. When I got to my card I went to take a picture and noticed a crease on the front. Hard to see at first glance as it is a textured full art. I brought the card back and showed them the damage. The guy called the owner and mentioned the crease and he knew which card he was talking about, however they said that because card had left, they will not refund only exchange. I elected to do the exchange but then they said theyll exchange but it will be at a percentage. You already scammed me by marking as LP and fighting me on condition when I pointed out the damage, now you're trying to take more from me with a lowball exchange offer. I feel bad for anyone that shops here. Their product is overpriced, conditions are wrong, and they know it, just don't care. I will be reporting to BBB. Good riddance. read more

Been coming here for years, even before they switched locations, the deals are pretty good on games and collectibles, I recently got back into TCG's, but I really enjoy browsing and buying in person for collecting. Very friendly and communicative staff, always great to swing by and see what's in stock. read more

I ventured into this location by accident after leaving a different store in the area. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of games as well as the friendliness and courtesy of the staff. I was able to find an old school game that my son had been looking for so...that was a big score. I couldn't wait to share the information with my husband and my son whom are avid gamer's. We live quite some distance from this location, but will definitely come back to the store so they can check it out as well. read more

Monster games is my favorite video game store. I have been going there for years. They have a constantly rotating selection of used video games and consoles. There is also a growing Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, and Dungeons & Dragons community growing around the store. They have tables to play and regular gaming nights. The owner is nice and his family runs the shop. read more

Over the last couple months, this place has lost my business. Now I can't speak on the prices of things other than cards in the shop like the funkos or video games other than some of them seemed a bit high but I'm not well versed enough to say. I am with cards however and Today was the final straw. In December the new one piece set came Initially at the same price as everywhere else fast forward a couple days there initial shipment of inventory they had increased the price 20 bucks or so another couple days later another 20 bucks less than a week later the box being over $200. Mind you altogether said and done with their pricing and the amount that they're purchasing they're getting them from around $65 a piece. at the same time their packs went from normal priced to almost double. Now I understand having to increase your price if you're purchasing product at market value instead of retail, but that clearly isn't the case here. Today I went back to see if they would have normal pricing for the initial release but boy was I wrong. They are now charging $220 a box. On release while other shops still only charge $115. They're 100% taking advantage of the local community by price gouging and I for one will not be giving them my business going forward. I suggest others do the same. read more

The place is super dirty. Everything is covered in dirt and dust. Prices are extremely expensive. It's just a weird dingy dump. Retro game places are getting harder to find, but this place seems to have their main focus on Magic. There are better game stores in the area. read more

I just bought a PS 2 slim from their store yesterday. When I got it home, I found out that they gave me the wrong power supply with the unit. I had to drive all the way back to the store to get the proper power supply. When I made it back home to set up the system, it would not read the disk. A little searching online tells me that the unit has an issue with the board and it requires some soldering. I called the store to complain and to arrange to get a refund, but the girl behind the counter said they do not give cash refunds. I reminded her she told me they tested the systems before they are sold. She insisted that they did. I told her obviously they do not because the system is broken. I then asked to speak to a manager. She said the manager would call me tomorrow. I said why do I have to wait until tomorrow. I just want a refund on your broken system. She then tried to put me on hold and call the manager. I heard her talking to the manager on the phone and then she comes back to me and said the manager was not available. Idiot forgot to put me on mute. I told her I heard the whole conversation. He's obviously available because I heard you talking to him. So now I am stuck with a system that does not work. It cost me $80. I like to help a small business, but this place is garbage. They sold me a broken system. What is really sad is I bring my son there all the time for Skylanders characters. I even reminded them how often I come into the store, she was unwilling to help. There are better game stores with better service out there. EDIT: After reading my negative reviews on-line the manager called me back and said absolutely they would give me a refund. It's just that the employee I spoke with was not authorized to do so. I told the manager that the employee did not convey that to me. She said store policy is "no refunds" - full stop. All this drama just to get my money back the next day. It's sad.... I actually like their store, my son likes the store, but because they don't know how to properly deal with a dissatisfied customer they've essentially ruined our relationship. Terribly Customer Service & equipment. My husband and I purchased a Sega Genesis game console and a few games. The game console ended up not working. The Clerk threw away the power cord & attempted to exchange the not working console with another not working console. We will not be back to this store. read more

Sorry for the bad experience of others, in the defense of "Monster Games" I have never seen couches for people to play video games in a VIDEO GAME STORE. Game Stop usually has you playing whatever game they want u to try and standing up. They gave me the BEST price for 3 video games and a PS4 1TB. They beat Amazon prices so that's worth something. People are friendly as heck and I seriously would recommend you trying it this place if your still skeptical (trust me, i am a VERY skeptical guy) I never comment on things like this but I had to for this one, not fair to have this 1 neg rating all because you feel is just like your typical Game Stop.
