My daughter and I came here for dinner recently and had a very nice experience. We were greeted immediately upon entering and showed to a table. We were told to scan the QR code on the table for food and drink menus, which many restaurants are doing these days due to Covid. We each ordered a glass of wine while we perused the food menu. There are many interesting dishes to choose from! I ended up ordering a Reuben, which comes with their hand-cut chips, while my daughter chose the Kofte Kebab and added a side of chips. It didn't take long before our food arrived and everything was delicious! We both remarked that the chips were some of the best we've had on our trip! There was just one minor kerfuffle when the bill arrived and we noticed they charged us for the wrong glasses of wine but they acknowledged the issued immediately and brought us a new bill. We would definitely come back if we are ever back in Glasgow.

I love Mono so much. Apart from the fact that their menu is so good that I can never bear to choose one thing from it. Popped in for a wee pre-birthday lunch. Was in turmoil trying to decide what to get, but eventually settled for the Seitan burger with barbecue sauce, American mustard, dill pickle, onion and beef tomato served with hand cut chips. Added some 'cheese' too, just because I'm greedy. Wouldn't be a birthday lunch without some booze, so had Kraken and diet coke too. The burger was epic! The 'cheese' was awesome and the BBQ sauce just made it. I love pickles and gherkins and there was plenty in there. Wish I had space for dessert, they all sound so good. Must go back and try the Lamachan - Turkish pizza with spicy mince, roasted aubergine, onion, fresh red chillies, lime and coriander yogurt, salad and sumac. How good does that sound? Service is pretty laid back in here, but that's fine. We ordered and paid at the bar to speed things up. No big deal. Staff are pleasant too. It has a nifty beer garden at the front too, for when the sun decides to make an appearance. Inside is spacious and airy though, so not stuffy when it's warm outside. We were under 30 quid for two massive mains and two drinks, including tip. Not too shabby. BOGOF pizzas on a Monday night though, so I've heard. They're also now serving up vega pizza crunch suppers, complete with pickle. Lordy! Can't wait to go back and try that ace sounding pizza!

I last reviewed Mono four years ago and I still love the place - it's now even better than it ever was. Their genius of a chef has managed to veganise all my old fat favourites, such as burgers and doughnuts, which many a vegan would ordinarily mourn. I highly recommend visiting on a Wednesday, as you can get a beer and burger for a fiver and OH what a burger it is. This seitan burger comes in a seeded bun, with all the gherkin, ketchup and mustardy trimmings and is served diner-style in a wee plastic basket. It is, without a doubt, THE best veggie burger I have ever eaten and is the closest you'll get to the real thing (it's actually better). I was overjoyed when I discovered they had started making their own doughnuts, which are glorious. They're sugary and sinful, just like the ones I used to get at The Barras when I was wee, although I doubt these ones will do as much damage. They also brew their own soft drinks, including raspberry and rose lemonade, which goes gorgeously with gin. Absolutely everything I have ever eaten here has been sensational. Although the menu is entirely vegan, there's never that feeling that your meal is missing something and the quality of the food is outstanding. I don't know how they do it, but I hope they continue forever and ever.

Mono is a very chilled out place to head any time you fancy a drink, a browse through the record shop, food or just somewhere to sit and chat. I visited on Friday night after dinner at Brutti Compadres, and it was a nice place to wind down the night. I'm sure Mono looks different from the last time I visited, it seemed a lot lighter. Not sure if it's the big glass cupola (skylight) has been cleaned or repainted, or just the bright evenings we get in Glasgow. Anyway, it was a welcome change as I remember this place being a bit dark and dingy on occasion. There's lots of seating here so you shouldn't have a problem finding a seat. It's a very relaxed place so often tables have been rearranged and moved about. There are also couches but obviously they'll always be in hot demand. During business hours you can visit Monorail Music or Good Press (music and books respectively) which I think makes awesome use of this unusual space. I haven't eaten here in a long time, or even looked at the menu so I can't comment on that, but I do know it's vegan treats. We recently got tickets to see BIS in August so I'll make sure we try the food then. All round, a good place to go for a drink if you're in the area. There's also a nice seating area outside in Kings Court if the weather is suitable.

Favorite restaurant in Glasgow, hands down. They have an awesome selection of vegetarian and vegan options - vegan pizza (delicious), sandwiches, burritos, seitan burgers, hot dog, etc. I've had most items on the menu and love them all. AND the ICE CREAM, oh the ice cream. It is absolute heaven. Best vegan ice cream around. They have live music, allow dogs and have a big dining area so you can come with a big group or if you come earlier in the day, it seems like a good place to bring your computer and work. They have plenty of beer, wine and alcohol. If I could eat here every week, I would.

So I FINALLY checked out Mono a few weeks ago. As a vegan, it's almost shameful that it took me so long, but to my defence it's because I'm basically never in that area. I went for a late lunch on a weekday, and the place was reasonably busy but not overcrowded. The staff were super friendly and the service was quick. I also really like the open, relaxed space. It has a nice hipster feel to it, without being at all pretentious. My sister opted for the seitan burger, while I had the mac'n'cheese. The mac'n'cheese was slightly on the dry side, but it was delicious all the same, and my sister was very happy with her burger. We also had a beer each, and they seem to have quite a few nice craft beers, which is always a plus in my book. There were so many delicious-sounding things on the menu that I'm really eager to go back and try other things. I've also heard great things about their scones, so I'll have to stop by for those sometime.

It is a lovely building, they really use this place! In the restaurant is also an altenative music store ( i did buy a CD of jacques brel: ne me quitte pas, is one of my favorites song of him.), a place to relax on one of the couches, serveral plants and non of the chairs are equal. :) We did expected a relaxed place, tasty food for a small price and good drinks, services and maybe some music. The drinks are big, cheap, good an just a good deal. But we think that the chef didn't has a good day: the rice was overcooked and the sauce to heavy, spices, salty and spicy. We ask for more white rice, because we couldn't eat our meal without making it less heavy to eat. We saw on other tables that people send the nasi back to the kitchen. Some of the people who work here are polity, helpful, full of energy, others just walking around like zombies not really knowing what the customers saying and what to do. The last ones aren't helpful for a relaxed evening unfortunately.. We didn't get what we were expecting. We didn't get any good food, or good services, we waited more then 30 minute for our meals and not just 15 minutes what the waiter said. But we did get a small price, good and lovely drinks and we bought a CD with music. We won't come back for the food, it was not good enough. But we will come back for the drinks, the relaxed feeling and the music shop.

I am a committed carnivore and view any meal without meat as a waste of a meal. You could basically say I'm the female Ron Swanson, except without quite so impressive a moustache. When I agreed to meet my vegan pal for lunch, I was secretly dreading it. What was I going to be made to eat? Sweepings from the forest floor? TOFU?? You know what? I was really pleasantly surprised. I've been to Mono about 8,000 times in the past but only for drinks and the occasional bowl of chips. I faced my fears and conquered them though, in the shape of an insanely tasty seitan burger*.It was honestly one of the best things I've eaten recently, the bun and the accompaniments were all perfect. My pal had the spicy sausage pizza which also hit the spot. I was also impressed by the wide array of drinks (love any bar that stocks Fentimans) and the value - a fabulous lunch under £20 for two is a good find these days. All in all, although I remain bad to the T-Bone, I will not be quite so trepidatious next time my plant-lovin' pal suggests lunch. * it's pronounced say-TAN. Not Satan. I learned that the hard way.

When I first came to Mono many years ago, I was unaware that it was vegan bar. To be frank, as an omnivore, I didn't care. The reason is I've always found something on the menu that catered for my preferences. Today I had the falafel and tahini wrap with spicy chips. It was delicious. As I write my only dilemma is whether to have another wrap or go for the Oreo cheesecake. Life is hard, with tough choices. They also have mini discos on a Sunday (sometimes), are child friendly and have a natty little record store for burning off the post cheesecake calories. I had the cheesecake.

Mono is a classic hangout spot in Glasgow. It's a combination vegan restaurant/record store/coffee shop. Over the years I've eaten at Mono during several trips and everything has been amazing, from pizzas to veggies dogs. On our latest visit, we both ordered macaroni and cheese with garlic bread. The dishes were delicious and filling, with the whole meal being completed by pairing it with Mono's in-house brewed soft drinks. For those with allergies, the restaurant's menu is heavily marked with common allergen ingredients to keep you in-the-know.

The best vegan food in Glasgow. I love everything about Mono from its bright and open look and laid back vibe to the amazing food and homemade lemonade. Keep an eye on Mono's specials board when you go in. As good as the menu is, you'll usually find a delicious gem chalked up on the wall. After your main meal, treat yourself to the Oreo cheesecake. It's one of the best in the city.

Another Vegan joint from the same dudes who do the more recent hot spot Stereo. I couldn't be any further away from a Vegan so I was alarmed when the only thing I could eat when I first went was chips. Good chips though. The reason I go is for local alternative music, and in that respect, it is a good venue. There's also a wee music store inside which is a cute novelty. I remember seeing Moby in here a few summers ago performing a free gig. Easily one of the best days of my life. From super chilled out acoustic bliss to banging techno in Sub Club. Oooft. What a day. I expect Moby had a better munch than just chips.

There's even a microwave which you can use if you bring in your own food to eat! The kitchen bar is open during club hours too, so if you don't feel like dancing you can head on in to the kitchen and chill and/or eat and/or drink and/or play some board games at 2am!! The club is just as unique. there's parts of old furniture attached to the walls, lots of subtle nods to "The Big Lebowski" everywhere and lots of places to sit. There is a big quirky bar with all the mod cons including that lovely vintage tv playing some obscure Japanese films, of course. There's a big no frills dance area, complete with a wardrobe in the middle of the floor to dance around. There's not much in the way of flashy flashy lights, instead they have projections bouncing about the venue providing lighting changes and blasts from the pasts in the way of old footage and stuff. I've seen people stop dancing to reminisce at what they are seeing on the big projection screens. There is a nice set of standard lamps around to supply extra lighting around the tabled ares too. There is space for fowk to dance and sit and mingle with out feeling like a club, even though it kinda is.
