We happened upon Monkey Dooz after looking for a spot to get our little dudes hair did. Went to a couple of salons in town and finally happened upon this place, at which point we started simply scheduling our next haircut! The place is unassuming - a normal salon to the right and a kids area to the left. As is any child's dream, they have both a police car and Lightning McQueen in which you can get your haircut! They've also got plenty of colorful stuff on the walls and a small TV so that the kids can absorb the message of a Disney movie while getting their haircut. This last time, our kids learned the value of perseverance and friendship while getting a number three on the sides! The gals here are very friendly and do great work with the kiddos. They've got one (maybe two) dedicated kids hair cutters, which makes it nice for the little guys. It's nice to have the same person cutting their hair, and somebody who is more familiar with kiddo techniques. We're going to keep coming here until they give us a reason not to, and We don't see that happening anytime soon. They're doing a great job! You owe it to the kids to let them watch some TV while getting their haircut in a police car! read more

Zebra Street Salon is on the other side of Monkey Dooz and is geared towards adults. Hilary is amazing! She is professional, quick and listens to and answers my questions. She uses a 10 minute hair color that gets me out the door fast AND it doesn't fade! I'm so glad I was referred to her. She's a sweetheart! read more

I have taken my 4 year old autistic son to get his hair cut here no other place has ever had the patience to cut his hair.

So when I heard about this place I was so excited because my two year old son hates getting haircuts he always has so I thought it would be nice to bring him here because they specialize with kids but NO I had a bad experience my son was crying the whole time this lady named raelyn cut his hair she made no effort to comfort him!! Nothing! She had a movie on called the jungle book but the new version not the cartoon one so I asked her can u put another movie on for him he likes cartoons and her exact words (it's going to take longer to put on the movie then to cut his hair) he kept crying so I asked again she changed it and he began to calm down.. will never be back I can't believe I brought my son around someone who was this rude the only reason I didn't say anything was because I did not want her to mess up my son's hair even more.. I am very disappointed and upset their are people like this that would think of doing this everyday when they can't even deal with a little 2 year old !!!!!!! read more

Nice place but unfortunately awful service which is sad because our son walked in and was in Awe. That all ended when R arrived. We arrived 25 minutes late for an appt and walked in to see if we could reschedule or wait and were told R was not there. She had gone to lunch but the other staff called her to ask if we could reschedule and we were told to wait as she was just pulling up. When she arrived we apologized and asked if we could reschedule and she pointed and said sit! That was all she said. I apologized for being late and she went to town with electric clippers on my 1 1/2 yr old son. No "hey buddy this is gonna tickle, hey lil guy look at these clippers". She just started shaving. HE FREAKED! she pretty much man handled him while I held him and tried to comfort and calm him. She never stopped her shaving to calm him or reassure him or anything! So rude we were shocked. She butcherd his hair and with out one word (except saying $16.50) she sat and slapped a first time hair cut card in the table and took my $. Obviously we were not impressed at all with the service although the name and look of the place was neat. Needless to say we will likely never again take any of our 9 kids here for hair appts. Nor would we recommend it. Sad that she valued her McDonalds drive thru more than first time clients. Her place was empty, we were not putting anyone out nor making anyone with an appt wait. My little one needed a haircut and there was only one car in the parking lot so I decided to see if they could do a quick trim job. We walked in, to see one stylist washing someone's hair in the back of the salon. She looked up for a second then just kept on chatting it up with the client without saying a word or acknowledging we had walked in. I thought it was rude not to at least say, I'll be right with you. I let it go, chalking it up to poor customer service or lack of training. I patiently waited for a good 5 minutes only to have her just keep chatting with her client and completely ignore the fact that we were standing there waiting. Finally, I'd had enough and walked out explaining to my upset toddler that I wouldn't be taking her back to that place because I wouldn't support a place that had a blatant disregard for customer service. NEVER have I ever had such poor service....or should I say no service! This is such a poor excuse for a kids salon. I will never go back, ever and will be telling all my mom friends not to support this place either. read more
