It was Memorial Day weekend, not the greatest weather however my family of four decided Zip Line at Monkey Business. We've Ziplined before except for the hubby however this time he decided to join us since this one compared to our last was much smaller. The young staff was professional, patient and accommodating. They went over the rules twice. Once while suiting up and at take-off. Our guide Jesse was awesome. He kept it funny and lite especially for those who were added to our group that was a little nervous. When gliding your overlooking the lake and forest...just beautiful. Even on a dreary day. For those who are first timers', this is a perfect first start at zip lining.

The perfect spot for afternoon fun with kids! We did the mini monkey course with kids ages 4, 5, and 7. I was really impressed with the course, which really allowed kids to feel like they were on a big adventure right below the high ropes and zip lines. Our guide was terrific!

This was a cool and fun place to check out and experience at deep creek. Each tier had it's own challenges which made for a good time and a slight workout. The guides were all very kind and I definitely trusted their knowledge of the course and all their support when it was needed. I definitely forsee returning for another super fun arial adventure!

What a great afternoon adventure. The course was brand new and had 3 different levels and difficulty. My daughters had a wonderful time trying all of the obstacles. The staff was very patient even with our 9 year old. The zip lines were the prefect way to end the day!!

We've been on bigger zip lines in the past, but these were still fun and we had a great time.

It was one of the best gifts I've ever received. Natalie is such a great host and helpful in explaining the process for my trip. The pilot, Chris is not only a pilot for the Pittsburg Heli, but also a trained instructor who can assist in gaining your hours for a pilots license. The hanger is so cute with rustic decorations, that I would love to book an event in the future here. It's perfect for a get together or even a small event like a birthday celebration or small wedding. Maximum guest occupancy is for 50 people. So many awesome experiences today, I can't wait to go back!

Even though the things they do make my hands sweaty, I don't want to stifle their spirit or curiosity, so we often do adventurous things that I would never do when I was a young girl. One of those things was going on a zipline canopy tour in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. You're probably thinking, "That's nothing! Ziplining is perfectly safe!" And I'm sure it is, somewhat. But sometimes, I'm still that timid little girl who is afraid to get hurt. And I try to avoid doing anything that requires me to sign a waiver, wear a helmet, be strapped in by trained personnel, be high up off the ground, etc. So, yes, I was being a good mom and taking my kids to do adventurous things, but I let them have all of the adventure while I waited safely on the ground. Kids can zipline and traverse the canopy tour by themselves as long as they weigh at least 70 pounds. They also have to be able to make it the whole two hours of the tour. When we visited, it was very cold, and even colder once you get high up in the trees. If you visit on a cold day, bring some thin gloves and a beanie! The people who do the tours are students at West Virginia University. The three students we encountered on our tour were super knowledgeable and good with kids. They made sure my kids had all of their safety gear on correctly, showed them the basics, made sure they understood how to zipline safely, showed them what to do if they got stuck in the middle of a zipline (ay, dios mio!) and checked in with them throughout the tour. I felt like safety was of the utmost importance to them, which I appreciated. The canopy tour consisted of four zip-lines, seven platforms up in the trees, an aerial bridge, aerial ladder and a rappel station to exit the course. It was a fun time! No one died or fell and became paralyzed. (I mean, what kind of paranoid sicko would even think that sort of thing?!) The only thing I would do differently is visit on a warmer day. At the end, my oldest child said he couldn't feel his fingers and he was actively shivering. So, visiting on a warm day would probably make the experience a lot more enjoyable.

Before we embarked on the ziplines, we did a small, low-to-the-ground practice course. The guides made sure we all knew their hand signals and how to brake. Then, we did three ziplines, each one a little more adventurous than the last. We ended by stepping off a 45-foot platform, with the guides lowering us down on a cable. My kids (ages 12 and 14) had a blast. My husband and I loved it too. It was a great family adventure.

The views were amazing, and the personal attention really set this apart. My husband and I came to Luray for a quiet weekend away. Katie and Jacob were our treetop guides. To say they were the best would be an understatement. Both of them were well versed in zip lining and made the experience so much fun. It was hard to be uncomfortable for long with them at the helm. Almost polar opposites - Katie was a burst of energy with an infection personality and Jacob was laid back, calming presence with an unexpected jokes that would catch you off guard. The pair made the zip lining experience that much more memorable. Highly recommended if you want a little thrill in the Luray area. If you are going in the summer, I would definitely take the earlier time slots - it gets hot up there.

There were 8 of us on a beautiful weekday afternoon in October with our guide, Andrei. First, huge shoutout to Andrei. He was funny and energetic, but he also kept an eye on me because I have a fear of heights. He would magically appear in the difficult sections and talk me through them. He was encouraging without being condescending, and he was really empathetic. I didn't feel like a burden to the group and I had an excellent time. He deserves all good things in life! What to bring- they require you to bring at least a liter of water so bring a small bag and add some snacks too. If you have a camel back or another bag with a water bladder that will be your best bet, because there are only a couple opportunities to take a water bottle out of your bag. Also, buy some sort of strap for your phone beforehand or you won't be able to take photos or videos. Is it hard? I don't think it's that physically challenging, although it might help if you have been rock climbing before, even if it's just in a gym. I think everyone found some section emotionally challenging, whether it was the head wall, the bridge, or the whole thing like me lol. It's definitely doable for the average person! There are also a couple places to get off if it's too much for you. This was incredible, amazing, fantastic- just so cool! Go, you won't regret it!
