I'm a sucker for historic buildings, especially castles or churches, so I had to stop at Monistir de Sant Pere.
The building looks amazing. It would be even MORE amazing if they would let you go inside. To be honest, I was disappointed because I got my hopes up. We walked up to this beautiful medieval church, and what do you know? We see the doors are open. It wasn't time for mass, so surely this meant that you can go inside. Not exactly.
When you walk into the entrance you can see the inside of the door through a set of windows, just a bit of it. But there are no lights on. If you want to see the inside in clear view, then you insert €1 into the coin slot and the lights come on for 3 minutes.
To make a short story shorter, we had a quick glance without giving our money to switch on the lights. It's a shame that the place isn't available to explore inside. Such beautiful architecture, 12th century I believe, would be amazing to see closer up. But at least you get a taster, I guess. read more
