This place is so COOL! They have all these nifty novelties but they're actually USEFUL novelties. They also have a lot of funny and unique cards, candles, and books. Great place for buying your boyfriend (or girlfriend) a hilarious gift. I could spend hours in there just playing around. I had no idea what was in this store. It's located in Cary Town and is one of the places you should just stop by with your friends because it's a fun place to be if you're a kid or an adult (mainly things adults would appreciate and kids most likely won't understand...but it's a PG type store though so no worries...take your kids!). I wasn't planning on buying anything but I'm definitely going back when I'm looking for a few unique and hilarious items to beef up a birthday gift. I actually wanted to buy the tool kit that looks like a grenade for my military boyfriend. They have something for EVERYONE guaranteed! NEGATIVES I couldn't find the prices on anything! This shop never fails to have awesome smart ass cards for every occasion. They also have lots of interesting and unusual, sometimes too cute by half, gifts. The card section could be an art museum for the time I spend perusing it. It has lots of fun random items as well. Some items are a little pricy but others are a good deal and the cards (the main attraction) are comparably priced if not cheaper than Target (my go to store). I love the quirky things they have. I have always managed to find something i "have to have" when i venture in. If you havn't been be prepared to see some unique items. The prices range, you can find affordable things and extra special must haves that are a little more pricey. This is the perfect gift shop/card store! You could find something for anyone on your list and the selection of cards is great. I could spend hours searching around the stores. There are funny books, housewares, stationary, mustache bandaids, adorable/interesting candles, assorted soaps/lotions....seriously you will be able to find a gift for anyone. A few people have said that it's a little pricier, but it's a gift boutique. I would say the prices are right in line with what you would pay at a hallmark r other gift store. An added bonus for me is shopping here you actually support a local business instead of sending your money off to some faceless corporation, but that's just me. Happy shopping! read more

Awesome staff, super friendly! Clean, well organized, excellent selection of gifts, cards, housewares, etc in a wide variety of subject matter--literally something for everybody. A great place if you want to look for unique gifts, gift wrapping paper, and cards. Similar to a Papyrus, but they also sell stuff that you would find at Urban Outfitters. If you're a hipster type or if you want to go that extra step for that special someone, this place is a fantastic place to come if you want to stand out. read more

Definitely full of crazy stuff you won't find any other place in Carytown, except maybe World of Mirth. That said it is more of a $$$ than a $$ place...But, some of the perfectly inappropriate cards are just worth the extra $1-2; for me. The staff is full of adept conversationalists! read more

First of all, the staff are wonderful. Laid back, hip, friendly with a sense of humor. And no, they didn't pay me to say that! It's the truth. There is a small gay community in Richmond and some of the clientele and inventory are geared for them. There is a little adult content, although it is not overt. If this offends you...get over it! The gifts, while unique and tasteful, are yes a tad overpriced for my wallet. I enjoy the vibe and get great ideas from them, but rarely buy. I go for the beautiful and unique wrapping paper and cards. They make even the humblest offering a little more special. Hallmark is okay for Gramma, but I like something with a little more flair for my friends! Mongrel is the only store in this area (that I am aware of) with this type of merchandise. And that's why I go. They're open till about 6 in the evening. read more
