Everyone else cancelled but we persevered. As did Tour Daufuskie and our amazing guide. We learned a lot of history, purchased a beautiful indigo scarf, and even found the only geocache left on the island. We also enjoyed the boat ride and were rewarded with dolphins, how cool is that. They allowed our 90lb dog which was very kind in the close quarters of a speedboat! There is a whole procedure of parking away from the terminal (since it is so crowded nearby) and boarding at the terminal dock. They were mostly on time and had a helpful friendly attitude. My child fell asleep on the ride so it was smooth and calming enough! My only negative was we'd have appreciated more departure options and flexibility to change times if needed (provided there is room). We had trouble finding a lot of info on things to do with kids on Daufuskie (we learned there is not a lot for them; it is more for Boomers to drink) so we would've valued being able to return sooner, but it is what it is. Just the only drawback we had with service options. But we definitely recommend to others.

The new ferry operator "Low Country Ferry" was put together and operated by a very inexperienced…read moreperson. Not sure how they were able to get this contract. But the fact they bid $375K versus the previous experienced operators ' $ 1M shows how Beaufort County picked the lowest bid versus the most qualified operator. My recommendation for anyone wanting to get to Daufuskie is use Island Head or other operators.

There was no representative of this company on island. This random person informed us that there were no 6 seaters available even though we paid for and reserved one. He told us we needed to call the company to see if we could get two 4 seaters. We couldn't get through on phone so he called for us. We did get 2 four seaters that were filthy. Fortunately one of our party had some wipes to clean the seats. On top of that one of the carts had a horn that kept on sounding for no reason. Overall terrible experience. Because we were staying overnight, we needed to have a golf cart with lights. We were given a cart for the day without lights And told to return later on, which we were happy to do. When we returned several hours later, there was still no golf cart. The attendant told us he would text us when the cart would be ready. However, he also said that he was leaving around five, so we returned around 4:30. He fitted us with a golf cart with lights, which proceeded to die about 15 minutes later. He proceeded to yell at us for using the golf cart too much that day and that we needed to save something to see the next day. When he switched us out with a functioning cart, he told us it would get us home, and that we should just go home and stay there for the rest of the day. By the way, batteries last 4 hours at least and we had used it way less than that. Which is crazy bc he gave us a cart with no battery! It was really upsetting that we got yelled at for a problem that was no fault of ours. This was terrible service. The carts were dirty and in poor condition. I want my money back. Use Mungeon carts instead.

I called in Thursday May 30 to inquire about a rental for the weekend . I spoke with Zaxby and we…read moreworked out a plan and the cart was delivered to my rental unit in Beaufort in less than 11/2 hours. The cart came clean and very well taken care of. It has to be plugged in at night so they brought the battery charger and even stopped and bought a new extension cord. The battery wasn't fully charged but charged enough to get 4 of us around until we finished for the day. I highly recommend renting your cart from Sea Island. I rented one in the past from a place downtown Beaufort a few years ago and it was junk. I had the opposite with this company. Give Zaxby a call and if possible I promise he will take very good care of you. Doing business with Sea Island was flawless!!

I would recommend Golden Coast to anyone I know. We had an issue--one that ultimately turned out to…read morebe operator error--and the staff went above and beyond to help. Inside the shop, they tested my battery charger, confirmed it was working properly, and did so without trying to sell me a new one. They even scheduled a pickup time so the cart could be checked out further. When Tim arrived to pick up the cart, I explained the problem in my garage. He took a quick look and resolved it on the spot. Despite driving out to my residence, he wouldn't accept any payment. That level of honesty and service is rare. If you have a Club Car or any other type of golf cart, I highly recommend giving this team a chance. If I ever need anything in the future, I know exactly where I'll be going.
