Money Tree is the "Quickie Mart" of banks! Its not a bank, but they do many of the same things a bank does! Cash checks, issue money orders, wire money, and do payday loans. What I love is when you buy money orders they give you free postage stamps! They also sell them too. Which is nice so I dont have to make a trip to the post office! You dont need a checking account to get a payday loan from here, just a job, and check stubs. Also no credit check. You can walk in broke and come out with cash in about 10 minutes! I can't remember exactly but I believe when you repay the loan, your paying back $20 on every $100 you borrowed. They also start you out with like a $200 limit on the loan, but after you borrow a few times and replay in a timely manner they will increase your borrowing power. If you have to extend the loan you can, but it will cost ya! Payday loans are NOT a wise thing to do, because it so expensive, but its nice to have this ace up your sleeve in case you do need some quick cash in a hurry. You never know when you will find a shoe sale and isnt it always when your broke - from the last shoe sale?? HAHAHA :) The staff at this location and the one on Clear Acre are all VERY nice, efficient, and know their jobs. They are really cool people. If you go in very much they will know your name by the 5th time you visit and for some strange human reason --- that just feels good. read more

Big time fees to transfer money I need $1,000 transferred through money tree and end up costing my client $80 to do that. 8% sings like a lot to just transfer some cash with I think next time I'll just have them send me a money order and save some money there so that I can having either one of us pay all those fees. The lady who helped me at this location was helpful and easy to work with but she could tell that I was a little put off that it was so expensive transfer money from one side of the state to the next. The location is clean and pretty easy to get in and out of parking at super easy so there is a lot to like about this money tree if you have to go in but hopefully I don't have to go back to this location because I could tell that their fees are serious! read more

I've been cashing checks here for several years now and even though I live down the street from another Moneytree I choose to go to this branch. The staff is helpful, professional and very nice. I highly recommend the Kietzke branch. KG read more

Went in to cash a Bank of America check and the teller happily took my work check and put it through the system. Once she noticed the initials on the check she asked what they stood for, in which I replied is a medical marijuana dispensary. Her demeanor changed completely from cordial to rude and abrasive. She stated that she couldn't cash the check because it was an illegal for profit business and refused to give my check and ID back until she made a copy of my personal information and voided the information she entered to cover her mistake. I asked her what the issue was as it was a Bank of America check and I never had issues before cashing the check anywhere else. She stated that "We do not associate with your kind." And I was extremely offended. After speaking with her District Manager for less than 30 seconds she returned my personal effects to me including the photocopies she made. I do not appreciate being told that a business "doesn't associate with my kind" and I for the first time in my life felt what it was like to be discriminated against due to my place of employment. Had I been a different race, this could have been a lot worse. Myself and the business I work for is the first and largest dispensary in the Truckee Meadows and employs about 100 residents. My boss and owners were aghast by the remarks made to me and apologized I had to go through this prejudice and unecessary experience. I filed a formal complaint with Moneytree and won't be returning. read more

Moneytree was good. A good experience - I went in and had a check that I needed to get cashed and that went smooth they did a good job with getting the check cashed and then I sent some money back East to the fam and some money to Houston to my friend because of the flood. Western Union was able to handle all that and fees were relatively low so that was cool wasn't expecting it to only cost $10 to send $800 so that was nice. I would say that you should try to go in the middle of the day cuz I've gone later in the afternoon and it's been really busy so if you can get there a little bit earlier you can avoid the crowd and hopefully save yourself some time. read more

Ive been going there for years and have probably cashed over a $hundred grand in the last year at this location . A heavy set female that works there seems to judge cause she always says "sorry ive chossen not to cash your check " then i go to places were ive never even been to once or even another one and they cash with no problem . So i will still go there cause the darn bank is always closed . Ill just pick which window i go to. And yes thank you to all thosother employees that let the world earn a good rep with there company. read more

I came back the next day and had everything they asked for and then they said I cannot send the money. Even though they said the day before I can send the money ey if I have the proper documents. read more

I had some money orders purchased at Wal Mart, when I wen to cash them in they told me they would not because they were older than 30 days--this was a complete shock to me as nowhere does it state this either on the m.o's or the service center--in addition the clerk was extremely rude. I was concerned I might have a hard time but Money Tree took care of me promptly and courteously, and this is where I will do my business from now on--as far as Wal Mart they are garbage, complete scumbags in every way, and I vow never to do business of any kind in any of their toilet stores again. read more
