My initial call was straightforward--the receptionist told me the earliest available appointment for a cleaning was May 7th, which I was perfectly fine with. However, when I called back, (we got disconnected) I was given completely different information by another staff member. I was offered an appointment for the very next day, but with the caveat that a cleaning would not be guaranteed. I was told I would first need X-rays and a full evaluation, and only after that would they determine what type of cleaning I "might" need. I made it clear that I was simply looking for a standard cleaning. I've had extensive recent dental work, including veneers, and I'm very familiar with my dental health. I also work with a cosmetic dentist I trust, so this wasn't a case of neglect or uncertainty on my end. What really raised a red flag for me was being told that even if I waited for the later appointment (May 7th), there was still no guarantee I would actually receive a cleaning during that visit. That's highly unusual. In my experience, both locally and elsewhere, a routine cleaning appointment is just that--scheduled, straightforward, and completed in one visit without unnecessary hurdles. The inconsistency between staff members, combined with the lack of clarity around something as basic as a cleaning, made the process feel unnecessarily complicated. It also gave the impression that the visit could turn into something more than what was initially requested, which felt more like a setup for potential upselling than a patient-centered approach. For patients who simply want a predictable and efficient routine cleaning, this may not be the right fit. Personally, I prefer a dental office that respects both my time and the purpose of my visit.

I was disappointed by some of the answers to my questions, so I recognize it was not an easy call for her - but it was her use of the word "honey", and it's accompanied tone of voice, that lost my business. I am finding every option to leave reviews so the dental practice management can address this. Had this not occurred, I would have made an appointment after grumbling a little about redoing x-rays and other administrative items - and I have $5-$10k of dental work that needs to be performed. Most of the time it's a great experience, which is weird to say about a dentist office. However ive had quite a few unusual experiences with the office people over time. The most recent Holly, I think her name was, was very snappy and passive aggressive about answering simple questions and seemed very anxious to get off of the phone.Literally while I was thinking about how to respond she eagerly says "good luck bye". it's small things like that which will rub you the wrong way, especially when you spend thousands of dollars at this place. It's one thing to be nice, it's a complete other to be fake nice especially when you are only answering a few questions from a regular customer. But yes from my personal experience- once you get past the staff it's a good experience.

The first Implant specialist that I consulted saw my scans and said he couldn't do the surgery. He said "there's only one guy who can do this, this is a job for Kumar". I later learned that my first doctor had studied under Dr. Kumar, and he is in fact incredibly talented. Six months ago he told me this practice was his passion. Now, after months of complicated treatment, I have a full set of Zirconium teeth and permanent implants. Doctor Kumar is very dedicated and professional. His staff is pleasant and efficient. I won't deceive you, it is a difficult process, and requires huge amounts of patience, and trust, but it is worth it. I have none of the problems or inconvenience that come with dentures, and my ability to eat well, and speak well has been restored. I cannot thank Dr. Kumar and his staff enough for what they have done for me. I would recommend this practice to anyone with advanced dental problems.

So without a second opinion I agreed to a new crown. Her dental assistant talked me into a mouthguard which was ineffective for its purpose. Moreover, it caused damage to my existing dental work. The mouthguard was made of hard ridged material which is not recommended for people who have restorative dental work aka crowns and fillings. The pressure causes the bonding and cement to weaken and crack. Hence, I lost a crown and a filling. Dr. Prill refused to take responsibility for the damage caused by her inappropriate night guard, nor would she replace the night guard which did not fulfill its intended purpose. I am now facing thousands of dollars more of dental work discomfort, and time consuming appointments. When it comes to dental ethics, there is a term called malfeasance. This is when a doctor does more harm than good. I intend to file a complaint with the FLORIDA board of Dentistry. Here are some complaints made be other patients of Dr. Prill's.
