Best bar food I have ever ate. Place was rocking definitely a neighborhood bar. Myself and two family members had dinner during Happy Hour seems other people had the same idea. The bartender who took us to our table informed us that a table of 11 had just ordered food and it would take a bit to get our food Was it worth the wait? YES! I had a taco platter 2 tacos beans and rice 10 points. My daughter cheese burger with fries 10 points. My wife chilli raono with rice and beans 10 points. Love it here. Definitely a neighborhood bar. They have cheap drinks, delicious food (try the green chili), and super nice and attentive servers. This is a great location to sit back and let the locals tell you a story. Very chill setting with lots of tables for groups or seats rights up at the bar. 10 of us showed up here for lunch right smack in the middle of St. Patrick's Day weekend. They were crowded. We were greated as soon as we walked in the door, and taken to the less crowded back room. Service was good and attentive. Meals were reasonably priced. The bar has a great old school vibe to it. Well done Monaghan's. read more

It's cool this is one of the older bars in the area and certainly seems like a local dive bar. But the service wasn't great.....for us. The servers were going around to regulars but ignored us. We went to the bar, went for a simple old fashion but they didn't know how to make that. Asked for a Guinness, which was on tap, but the one bar tender didn't pour those so had to wait for the other. Also got a canned IPA, which was old. We were going to order food, as they advertised Taco Tuesday, but we didn't see anyone else with food, nor any menus and no one asked. Anyways closed out with the one employee that could run the point of sale. They seem very content to just service their regulars and are not open to new patrons. read more

This review is a double edged sword. Both good and bad. We opted to place a take out order due to a suggestion from our American Express dining program. The place is clean, in a cool area of town and very old. Rumor has it that Eisenhower and Alfred Packer both ate here. The waitress was a very attractive woman with long blonde hair. She was extremely helpful and pleasant. Almost flirty. We tipped her well for being so personable. We ordered a double cheeseburger and a beef, smothered burrito. Both were extremely tasty as simple. Why then such a low rating? Even though our food was good, the request of "no tomatoes" was ignored. When we got our meal home, we spent ten minutes picking the tomatoes out of the burrito. Which is slightly dangerous for me as I am allergic to them. Adding ingredients that are specifically asked to be left off, can be dangerous. The only person in the building, including a very full lobby and and the cooks, was the aforementioned, very pleasant, waitress/bartender. I was the only patron wearing one. Social distancing was so bad, I preferred to wait outside for my take out. This place it too small to have that many people sitting so close. read more

Just tried this place after my neighbor recommended it for burgers. where's the puke bucket. Yuck! Service was great but the food was horrible. The prices were high. I could have gotten a cheaper burger with the same quality at McDonald's. We will not be back. read more

Diane was our waitress, bartender and became our friend for the next couple of beers. The draft beers were fresh and they were ice cold. We also found out that they have an out door patio. I struck up a conversation with Jim that also works there and is a bar back. He was super nice, friendly and also confirmed a couple stories that I heard this evening. They have the original metal ceiling and still have the bullet holes in the ceiling that were made from Buffalo Bill. This place was established in 1892. It is a great local hang out so we got to meet some of the Friday night regulars. I asked him about this place and they said it was really fun and the food is really good. They offer burritos, fish and chips on Friday, wings, breakfast lunch and dinner. We also have karaoke on Fridays so I have to leave before that starts, lol. So fun, we WOULD go back. read more

Legendary dive bar I have been going to for years with my family after my sports game and just to sit outside and relax. Really great environment, friendly staff, and very well priced. All that being said do not have at the food lol. Recently was the last straw for me, order was completely wrong the burger was black and charred, and I'm pretty sure it gave me salmonella. We stopped by on St. Patrick's Day (Sunday) so our experience may be different than typical. It's an old school bar with food. Average age was a little north of 50. Kids need not apply. We had a blast. Food was decent - bar food. Service was decent. We're going back because the clientele are respectable hard working adults. This is a friendly neighborhood bar/grill. Don't expect any microbrews or really any beers outside the typical budweiser and coors. Service was decent--they had the bartender acting as both waitress and bartender, but she was very nice even though she had her hands full. We had fries and the SO had something with green chile (which is highly recommended here) and he enjoyed it. You get quite a few fries per dollar spent. Overall, decent. This is a hidden gem. Their green chili is very good (I'm picky). Their wings are to die for. We've also gone when they were having their beer & burger special. Burgers are really good, too! And you can't beat the prices. Aside from the food, the service is always great. It's usually just one bartender taking care of the whole place and patio, but they always make sure to say hi and make you feel welcome even if they are really busy. By the way, their patio is AWESOME. I saw someone else mention something about them closing early. We've been told that they will not close before 11, which so far has been true for us. But because this place is off the beaten path and it's a family bar, it's understandable if they don't always stay open until 2. If we decide to go down there after 11, we just call first. They've even kept the kitchen open for us when they knew we were headed down. Pretty awesome. Love that place! read more

We wandered in here after a game at Mullen HS. Wasn't sure if it would be "family appropriate", but were happily surprised! It's clean inside and well lit. It looked like a spot with great loyalty from regulars. It was Happy hour so 2 for 1 on the wine we ordered, bonus there! It was also Taco Tuesday, which meant $1 Beef Tacos. Honestly couldn't pass that up. The green chili is delicious, thick and spicy almost looks like queso. The wait staff was so sweet and nice. Victoria the night Bartender while I was sitting at the bar FORGOT to put in my food order. When I confronted her with said food order, she got confrontational and stated she was busy (duh happy hour) and bragged how good her drink service was?????? She then had the bouncer throw me out......I even asked the bouncer if he'd be upset if he ordered food and the person taking the order forgot to do their job and actually place the order.
