[[HIGHLIGHT]]10 of us showed up here for lunch right smack in the middle of St. Patrick's Day weekend. They were crowded[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We were greated as soon as we walked in the door, and taken to the less crowded back room. Service was good and attentive. Meals were reasonably priced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar has a great old school vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well done Monaghan's.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful experience at this hidden gem historic (pre-prohibition!) neighborhood Irish x Mexican Pub![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Victoria and Susan are a wonderful dynamic duo that have been running the bar for as long as I can remember giving wonderful service to regulars from the neighborhood. I recommend giving this place a visit! Food is great too and they do $2 tacos on tuesdays!

Great neighborhood bar. Always feel welcome no matter what day I stop in. Their breakfast chile relleno is amazing. Green chile is flavorful and plentiful. Drinks are strong and generous. They have a special shot with a mix of pickle and spice that is tasty.

This review is a double edged sword. Both good and bad. We opted to place a take out order due to a suggestion from our American Express dining program. The place is clean, in a cool area of town and very old. Rumor has it that Eisenhower and Alfred Packer both ate here. The waitress was a very attractive woman with long blonde hair. She was extremely helpful and pleasant. Almost flirty. We tipped her well for being so personable. We ordered a double cheeseburger and a beef, smothered burrito. Both were extremely tasty as simple. Why then such a low rating? Even though our food was good, the request of "no tomatoes" was ignored. When we got our meal home, we spent ten minutes picking the tomatoes out of the burrito. Which is slightly dangerous for me as I am allergic to them. Adding ingredients that are specifically asked to be left off, can be dangerous. The only person in the building, including a very full lobby and and the cooks, was the aforementioned, very pleasant, waitress/bartender. I was the only patron wearing one. Social distancing was so bad, I preferred to wait outside for my take out. This place it too small to have that many people sitting so close.

Diane was our waitress, bartender and became our friend for the next couple of beers. The draft beers were fresh and they were ice cold. We also found out that they have an out door patio. I struck up a conversation with Jim that also works there and is a bar back. He was super nice, friendly and also confirmed a couple stories that I heard this evening. They have the original metal ceiling and still have the bullet holes in the ceiling that were made from Buffalo Bill. This place was established in 1892. It is a great local hang out so we got to meet some of the Friday night regulars. I asked him about this place and they said it was really fun and the food is really good. They offer burritos, fish and chips on Friday, wings, breakfast lunch and dinner. We also have karaoke on Fridays so I have to leave before that starts, lol. So fun, we WOULD go back.

    3 Egg Breakfast Burrito
    Colorado Burrito Bandit ..

This 2nd oldest bar in Denver was built in 1892 and visited by Dwight D. Eisenhower & Colorado's Alferd Packer who lived a few doors down. The chili is a simple Colorado classic pork green chili with red chili flakes that provides a good kick at the first bite. The burrito is 3 eggs with hash browns & bacon in every bite. The baño is a clean spacious single stall & they have 2 available. Pro tip: They have a morning happy from 8-10am everyday but Monday when happy hour is ALL. DAY. LONG.

Possibly bullet holes in the ceiling.

For brunch, the Cowboy Quiche had an incredibly flaky crust with potatoes and green chile (I added beef birria -- worth it). The chorizo breakfast tacos were also a hit. I love huckleberry and will always get it if available and this did not lead me astray. We started with crab dip which was a hit even with our baby. For the mains, my husband got the meatloaf platter and was obsessed. I had their specialty burger (a mix of beef and elk) that included arugula, goat cheese, jam and some onions - also top notch. To finish things off we got chocolate raspberry cheesecake and... Wow. Delectable. If it's not obvious, the food here is epic and I love the concept and theme. This thing is not just a burger patty. It is a beefy work of art. Juicy, rich, perfectly cooked, and clearly raised with the sole purpose of becoming the main character of my lunch. Then comes the gooey melted provolone cheese, which drapes itself over the patty like a warm edible blanket. It does not simply melt. It performs. The flame roasted green chilis bring that perfect Colorado attitude. Smoky, bold, a little spicy, and just enough fire to make you sit up straighter and respect the mountains. Then bacon shows up, because apparently this burger was not done being awesome. Crispy, salty, smoky bacon. The kind of bacon that makes you briefly forget your responsibilities. The smoked aioli deserves its own fan club. It is rich, smoky, a little spicy, and insanely good. I would put it on a shoe and probably still leave a positive review. The crisp bibb lettuce somehow manages to stay fresh and elegant while surrounded by total burger chaos. The tomatoes are fresh, the onions bring the snap, and the dill pickles come in like tiny green heroes cutting through the richness with a perfect tangy crunch. And then, just when you think the meal is over, here come the twice fried French fries. Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and clearly made by someone who understands that fries are not a side dish. They are a supporting actor trying to win an Oscar. Dip those fries into the thick, creamy house-made ranch dipping sauce and suddenly you understand why people write poetry. The Coloradan Burger at Front Range Inn is messy, beautiful, smoky, spicy, cheesy, crispy, creamy, and completely unnecessary in the best possible way. I came in hungry and left wondering if I should send a thank you card to the kitchen staff.

We had a variety of appetizers, including the wontons, the jalapeño poppers, the brussels sprouts, and the coconut shrimp and everyone was generally a fan. The wontons were a little different, not bad, just different. For lunch we had a burger. Two people had the mushroom sandwich, and had the French dip. The French dip was a little disappointing. It was pretty dry and didn't have much flavor. The mushroom sandwich definitely seemed to be the favorite at the table and the burger was pretty good. The onion rings are decent and the fries were delicious overall this is a solid meal,l. Accessibility: There's plenty of parking, and a small lip to get in the side door. There are lots of different seating options although it looks like the bar is up some stairs. The bathroom is a little bit difficult to navigate- the bathroom door was too narrow for a wheelchair to fit through and there were no grab bars inside the bathroom. The hallway to the bathroom is also very narrow.
