We caught an early morning ferry to Capri from Molo Beverello, Naples' main ferry and hydrofoil terminal. Located in the heart of the city, it's directly across from Castel Nuovo and Piazza Municipio, with the Municipio Metro Station (Line 1) just outside.
The port is large, but we had no trouble finding our boarding pier/dock(?). We arrived at new terminal building, which has air conditioning, seating, restrooms, and a food options. One interesting feature is the archaeological remains that is prominently displayed--part of a historic Bourbon-era pier uncovered during construction of the terminal.
Boarding looked chaotic at first because of the large crowd, but the line moved quickly and everyone made it onto the ferry without any issues. Just have your tickets ready before reaching the gate.
Whether you're heading to Capri, Ischia, Procida, or Sorrento, Molo Beverello is an efficient and well-organized departure point. It made for a smooth start to our day trip. read more
