    Apple pie, almost gone lol

Best Pie !!! As close to your moms homemade as you can get. Apple today baked at home, spice perfect, crust flaky and flavourful. Pass on the crap from the grocery store and do yourself and your family a favour, get a pie from Molly's. I've had a her hand pies and pies lots of flavours to date and they won't disappoint. Bought a frozen apple pie, directions were perfect and pie was so delicious! Thank you Molly! For the amazing baked goods and even my extra 10 pounds.

The remains of a wonderful meal

After reading the yelp reviews we decided to stop and grab some late breakfast on our way home. We weren't disappointed. The girls each had a crepe meal that came with a slice of bacon and a nice piece of lemon cranberry loaf and a huge orange slice. Mom and I had the big boy breakfast and it was awesome. Perfectly done. Not greasy in the slightest. The sausage (usual a boring meatube) was super flavourful and something worth trying even if you aren't a huge breakfast sausage fan. Baked beans were perfect. Dad actually went with the lunch sandwich special which was a Cuban beef. It looked yummy but since he wouldn't share I can only assume it was good since he wolfed it down. Paired with a very hearty beef barley soup which he also proclaimed to be superb. If you want a great meal in Minden then I couldn't recommend better!

spicy ketchup, maple syrup, vanilla flavoured sauce (for crepe)

Always a treat to stop here. Breakfast or lunch. Buy their Prepared frozen meals & desserts to impress! Once we got Moroccan chicken skewers & saffron rice that we brought camping! The buffalo chicken Mac & Cheese is a favourite side dish; flavourful without being too rich. Molly's Bistro is a perfect enroute stop to your cottage getaways if you are pressed for time but want to eat well!

A small, locally owned and operated bakery that caters to folks who need gluten free desserts - which isn't me but I'm always game to try! The selection of goods made it hard to choose just one, but I ended up getting a blueberry oatmeal muffin. Fresh, flavourful and filling!! As with many gluten free bakery items they can be a little on the sticky side but I enjoyed it just the same. The lady who served me was very kind and welcoming. Appreciative of the service and in fact before handing me the debit machine to pay, she skipped the tip option for me which I thought was very respectful. For anyone with gluten intolerance or anyone who loves their baked treats I would recommend you check out this place on your next visit to Orillia.

They did have plenty of bagels when we popped in later in the afternoon. They also keep items coming, so I'm sure you'll score something delicious! Stopped in with my mom on a Saturday and were warmly welcomed. I had stopped in a few weeks back for a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving that was delicious which is why I had to go back! On this occasion, we decided to try their flat bread and soup for a mid afternoon lunch - both were so flavourful. We both agreed we would order that again for sure. It was the perfect comfort meal on a cooler fall day. We also got some sweet treats to take with us. There was still plenty to select from. We opted for a date square, apple butter square, raspberry cheesecake square and kitchen sink cookies - They all disappeared before I remembered to take a photo - oops! :) Let me say, the date square was jam packed with dates! Everything had the right level of sweetness and tasted so good. I will definitely be back! They have so much more to try! Oh and they also offer a special brunch menu on Sundays. Highly recommend stopping in. You'll be supporting local and I'm certain you'll find a sweet/savoury treat or two!

A lovely experience: cute store front and inside. Lots of choices of goods: savory and sweet, and they all look good which is a good first impression. Then you taste them and it verifies that they not only look good but are well made and taste delicious. They had pasteis de nata (Portuguese custard tarts), and they were very good (still not as good as the ones you eat in Portugal). They have a wide selection of butter tarts and they are well made and tasty. Their giant merengues are what a merengue should be: crunchy on the outside with a chewy center. They have a nice selection of quiches: individual size and regular size. They also sell their quiches frozen. We tasted a couple of their quiches and they were outstanding. Their caramel squares are something we have never had before and they were out of this world.

So, looking for another option we droves to Maynooth and found Sun Run. It was very busy! There was seating indoors as well as outdoors. With it being a rather chilly morning, we got lucky and snagged one of the tables as another party was leaving. You place your order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you. They have many baked goods like homemade Pop Tarts, Cupcakes and Honey Crullers. But they also have breakfast and lunch sandwich options. The 3 others in my party got breakfast sandwiches, and I got a sandwich from the lunchtime menu. I opted for the grilled cheese. I'm so glad it did- it was great! The bread was baked in house and you could really taste the quality. Then where was 2 types of cheddar with thinly sliced apples ham and some honey. It was delicious and wasn't too greasy or decadent. Everyone else at my table raved about their sandwiches too, including my sister-in-law who got the buckwheat gluten-free option and loved it so much, she made an inquiry as to if she could buy some of the bread to take home. While they don't sell the loaves, it says a lot that she was moved enough to even ask. Overall a great experience here. Sun Run saved the morning- there's a total lack of breakfast restaurants open on Sunday in these parts, so we were really happy to not only get a meal, but impressed by how delicious it was!

A lemon cookie, a chocolate goodie and on a separate occassion, one of their chickpea burgers, their iced tea and a slice of carrot cake. Busy little breakfast spot and very popular as a pass through cafe on the way up to or coming from Algonquin Park. One of the only places to get some good food in this tiny town (the other, the Hostel!) Came here for the first time several weeks ago and I had to splurge and try a variety of their items. Staff is friendly, helpful and adorable. The space is bright and welcoming. They have local art too on the walls. The chickpea burger, I requested it be made with a lot of mustard on the bun and they delivered. It was awesome because when the young man handed it to me he said, "chickpea burger with lots a mustard". This made me smile. I also gave a slender kanteen to have the iced tea placed in. To save on plastic. They filled it right up for me, which I wasn't expecting at all. ABOVE AND BEYOND service. The iced tea is a house blend and is very tasty and refreshing. The chickpea burger was well made and satisfying. Driving back to the city I preserved the carrot cake slice and had it upon my arrival. SO GOOD. I would have loved some walnuts in there, yet I know others prefer no nuts. The price is incredibly affordable and well worth it. For the first set of goodies I paid jus under 8 bucks and for the chickpea burger, the carrot cake and iced tea came to jus over $17. Coming from Toronto an order like that would likely be closer to $25. I would highly recommend this place. The first time I saw a key lime dessert I really desired to try it the second time. Yet they didn't have it when I returned. This place is worth stopping. Maynooth is very charming so while you wait for your food you can have a look see at the other shops on that strip of their "downtown". Very busy on the weekends and closed Mondays and Tuesdays. If you see something that appeals to you. Get it! Support the local community. You'll be happy you did. I am craving that key lime treat and now I need to wait.... will definitely return again.
