The games were much simpler back then, and there certainly wasn't a restaurant and bar attached to the arcade, but there's still something nostalgic about walking into a place like this. I've been to this particular location several times, and I come primarily for the games and the overall experience. I'm not posting pictures of the food with this review because, honestly, I view the food here more as typical sports-bar fare than a restaurant experience. As far as the food goes, this is where my rating drops. I've tried several of the entrées over the years, and unfortunately, I've been consistently disappointed. The appetizers and smaller bites are more in line with what I expect from a place like this, and I'm perfectly fine with that. But when I'm paying restaurant prices, I still expect a certain level of quality, flavor, cleanliness and care in what is being served. For me, the entrées simply haven't delivered that consistently. The atmosphere, however, is a different story. It's loud, busy and high-energy, with kids, teenagers and adults everywhere. But that's also part of what makes Dave & Buster's what it is. You're coming here for entertainment, not a quiet dinner. There's a definite sports-bar vibe, with plenty of seating and wall-to-wall HDTVs showing football, hockey, basketball and baseball. The staff I've encountered have always been friendly, especially considering the number of people coming through and the energy of the environment. And then there are the games, which are still my favorite part. I enjoy playing here, and I think the rechargeable game cards are reasonably priced. There's something about having a drink, grabbing a few small bites and then walking around playing games that keeps the experience fun. So, would I come here specifically for a high-quality meal? No. My food experiences haven't earned that recommendation. Would I come here for the games, sports-bar atmosphere, friendly staff, nostalgia and overall entertainment? Absolutely. For me, Dave & Buster's is an entertainment destination first and a restaurant second. Set your expectations accordingly, and you'll probably have a much better experience. It was very casual and a ton of fun and you could tell that the people that both worked there and visited are huge fans of pinball and games in general. There are very old machines all the way up to very new machines. I very much enjoyed playing the games that really spoke to the pop culture era that I grew up in. I really liked the Austin Powers, Lord of the rings, Simpsons, and Family Guy pinball machines. Even though it's not necessarily pricey, (I enjoyed myself for 45 minutes to an hour on about $20) your money can go very quickly, especially if the machines eat your money, you aren't good at pinball, and the fact that a lot of games are a dollar per play. A few machines did eat my money and though I didn't get all of my money back, an employee saw that I was struggling and came and gave me free play which was very kind. We sat in aisle 15, row E, seats 9 and 10. The tickets were about $55 each. They were about three roes back from the visitor bench. To see all of the action from these guys who make from $200 to $500 per game, play football because they want to play and win. They have such passion. We purchased one hot dog, two popcorns, a coke snd adult beverage. It was only $33. I have been to hundreds of events snd this id inexpensive. The employees were kind, nee their jobs and so very helpful. If you don't know football, it is still s fun family outing.

And when I got closer to the date for the concert, I was told that VIP already included a fast pass since the VIP line is a different line at a different starting point than regular tickets. So that was a bit of a money waste. The inside was nice and air-conditioned, at least. But coming inside I only learned that there was a separate VIP ticket/membership to go upstairs? And another bowling VIP membership if you wanted to be near the bowling lanes. I was not informed of any of this when buying the tickets at all. Also, I was told in my email that if I parked at the Linq parking lot, my parking fee would be waived. However, when I asked the office at the bowl, they told me since they are under new management, it might not work and I would still need to pay. That should have been told in the email so I could have found better parking if I was going to pay anyway. But after I did pay the parking ticket when I was leaving the parking lot, the gate was open for people to just leave without paying, and the machine didn't accept the ticket anyway. So I just wasted more money on the parking ticket because the machine told me that I had to. The venue itself is small and nice, but the lack of info when buying for a first-timer is sad to see. I enjoy the concert for the band itself, but I would not go back here unless it was someone I really wanted to see in person.

They have different packages from one general admission ticket to adding arcade points, redemption tickets, a hot dog with a soda purchase, etc. We got in line. Got on the ride and had a blast. It's a squeeze to maneuver into the seats, but once in I felt secure. And I loved that the straps over the shoulder were just that straps... Far too often I am banging my head at other amusement parks with the over the shoulder bars they have. Not for this one. You were secured with the straps and lap bar. The speed, drops, loopty loop, were all the best. Like I said, "I LOVED IT!" Give it a try. They absolutely don't allow ANY loose items on the rollercoaster. There are lockers right before you get to the coaster line/Employee checkpoint, to the right. It's only $1. There was no line for the coaster even though there was a long line to purchase tickets. They also are strict on height. If you have difficulty finding the coaster... Go inside new York, new York... Follow the signs and once you see an Italian restaurant you will go up the stairs. You will see a painting of the coaster and name of it on the wall in the top corner above the stairs. Don't go to far or the guys trying to sell timeshares will harass you lol. They got us all turned around before we actually found the coaster.

Luckily, there are lockers nearby for around $1, so storing your belongings is quick, easy, and inexpensive. We visited on a Friday night and purposely waited until it was dark so we could enjoy the views of the Las Vegas Strip while riding. We had purchased our tickets online ahead of time, which I highly recommend because it allowed us to skip the ticket line. Once inside New York-New York, the coaster was easy to find, and we only waited about 30 minutes to ride. As a plus-size woman, I was happy to find that I fit comfortably on the ride, which is always something I appreciate knowing before visiting an amusement attraction. It was over 100°F outside the night we rode, so flying through the loops, twists, and huge drops while getting blasted with warm desert air made for a pretty wild experience! I'll admit, I was a little terrified--the drops are much bigger than I expected, and I rode a good portion of it with my eyes closed. The ride itself is fairly short, but it's packed with excitement from start to finish. My teenager absolutely loved it, and even though it scared me a bit, I'm really glad we did it. If you're visiting Las Vegas with kids or teens, I'd definitely recommend adding the Big Apple Coaster to your itinerary.
