First of all, we were on a very tight schedule and needed to get our inspection done quickly. The inspector, Josh, came in on a Sunday afternoon and did a very thorough inspection. He talked to me throughout so I always knew what he was doing and why he was doing it. He also gave me a lot of recommendations for things to make our condo more user-friendly. He answered all of my questions and explained things to me in a way that I could understand with my very limited knowledge of all things related to the construction and inner-workings of a home. We had blocked out a time for roughly four hours but because our condo was pretty small, it didn't take Josh that long. In light of this, Josh readjusted the price so I ended up paying less than I expected. He also explained other available services but was very upfront with me about them not being necessary for my particular unit in an effort to save me money and not waste any of my time. I really appreciate that this is a company who is honest and fair and not out to take advantage of people like me who are clueless when it comes to this field. Finally, Josh was super diligent in getting home and getting our report written up and submitted so that we were able to make our closing on time. Everything easy to read and the report included very clear pictures that helped us know what steps we needed to take. If we move down the road, I'll definitely call By-Lions for the Home Inspection and will be recommending them to anyone I know who is buying a house. You couldn't ask for a better company to work with!

Lyle Environmental - After Lyle Environmental removed the asbestos from the pipes.

I had some suspicious-looking tape on my furnace's ductwork that I had been told might be asbestos…read moretape. Although it was mostly intact, there were a few places where it had gotten torn and had some pieces hanging down. I contacted Lyle Environmental after reading good reviews about them online. They gave me thorough instructions on how to safely collect a sample of the tape so they could test it to determine if it was indeed asbestos tape. After I dropped off the sample they tested it and got back to me very quickly with the results: unfortunately, it was definitely asbestos tape. They described my options: removal, encapsulation, or doing nothing, and told me they could send someone to look at the ductwork and prepare a bid if I decided on either of the first two options. After I contacted Lyle and told them I'd like to have them deal with the tape, a representative came to my home and looked over the ductwork. He recommended removal of the tape where it was torn and encapsulation with a product called LagKloth where the tape was still intact. Lyle's bid for doing this work seemed quite reasonable so I made an appointment for the work to be done. The crew showed up on time the morning of the appointment, got straight to work, and completed the job within a few hours. My experience with Lyle was overwhelmingly positive. Every person I dealt with, from the office manager who took my initial call, to the person who looked at the ducts and prepared the bid, to the crew who did the asbestos remediation, was courteous, professional and conscientious. They answered all my questions and did the job for a reasonable price. They completed the lab work and got me on their schedule quickly. Moreover, several months after the work was completed, I noticed the LagKloth had become detached from the ducts in some areas. These areas are made of wood and had been painted years ago with what is most likely a lead-based paint, which Lyle thought is probably why the LagKloth had loosened from them. Lyle sent a technician out who fixed the problem at no extra cost. Lyle Environmental does good work and stands behind it--I highly recommend them!

First, I'm very happy with the actual vent cleaning service I received at my property, and office…read morestaff interaction was fine. I have a specific issue that I think any future customer should be aware of before agreeing to services. If you're going to use their services - and again, I was happy with the actual service - I strongly recommend you pay by cash or check. I had chosen to pay via credit card. Their credit card handling is ... not great. I expected the technician to use some kind of processor like a square reader, but the solution at the time was to call over to their office and read out my phone # and CVV to their office staff who would process the payment. That's not a great solution and borders on unacceptable in 2026. The office staff was not answering the phone at the time that my service was completed, so the technician told me that the office staff would reach out to me the next day, which from my perspective, no big deal. Ultimately I got in touch with the office staff and paid, via reading out my card # and cvv over the phone. Again, not great. A link to a payment website would do a lot to alleviate concerns. During this call I mentioned using an onsite reader or payment website as being far preferable to reading out a card # over the phone. Here's where things start to go very wrong. Later I spoke with the owner of the company who opened the phone call in an extremely aggressive manner, claiming that I had been mean to his staff and practically yelled at me because I was unwilling to pay by credit card. I was in fact at every point during this willing to pay by credit card. I do not want to get into a he said/they said re: whether or not I was mean to the office staff there. I definitely did unreservedly apologize on the phone to the owner for any negativity in my interaction with his staff. Whether or not I was actually mean is not important to the next point, and this is the important bit: The owner told me that "If I was so uncomfortable reading my card out over the phone, I could've written down my card # and given it to his guy". Now this, this is huuugely unacceptable. Anyone familiar with the standards around credit card number storage and transmission (PCI-DSS) should know that this is a big red flag. There are specific rules for storing credit card #s, and writing it down on an invoice and throwing it on the passenger seat while you drive to the next location is definitely NOT on the ok list. I really hope that the owner was just throwing out random ideas and that this doesn't reflect a common business practice. Certainly the technician did not offer this solution, as well he shouldn't given how problematic this is. I would also emphasize that practically by definition, this company doesn't just have your card # and cvv, they also have your full address (assuming you live at the location you got service at) and likely full legal name, so this is quite a bit worse than a company storing just your credit card #. Anyway, I myself will not be using their services again due to my extremely negative interaction with the owner. If you choose to use their service, please PLEASE use a check or cash, or at least verify that their card handling processes have improved since my date of service (March 2026).
