From the moment I walked in I had a great dining experience - the staff, the drinks, and especially the food! I like to order the specialty dish, in this case the Molcajete. It came out with that delightful sizzling sound with steam coming off the top. I had the small Molcajete since I was by myself. There was more than enough food, and I took the rest back to my room. The charro beans were the best I've had. The flour tortillas were really good also. The red and green salsas that came the the chips were both legit. The red is very hot, but really good. The chips were a toss up because I was an early customer, I think was given a mix of fresh and day old chips. I wasn't feeling my inner Karen so I didn't say anything. I didn't want them filling me up before the Molcajete anyway. Overall, Amazing! I highly recommend. read more

First time I came was a few months ago, when they were still at the other location. Today I returned with some friends in their new place. Better located on Veterans Blvd. in the view of many that drive by. The parking is a big improvement as the restaurant is too. A spacious dining area and a separate area with a bar. They are still getting 2 other rooms ready, but this move is a big upgrade for sure. The food is delicious, and the service by Alexis superb. I had a great time again here. Before we left we received a quick tour of the part that is still under construction. Wish them all the best with this move. read more

After the hike in Seminole Canyon we found this place to eat our tiredness away. The service was really great (not overwhelming) and the staff who helped us were just so light to talked. She helped us to figure out what is good on the menu as this was our first time. The restaurant was neat and organized. It wasn't busy time when we visited. The food was so good from chips and guacamole (where it hit the spot of taste and texture), the molcajete (solo) it was so good, filled with meats with the sides of rice and tortilla, then the flautas. Since we really enjoyed it we ordered a to go of their Enchiladas and it was really delicious. They have interesting drinks but we have 3hrs drive ahead of us but we truly enjoyed the service and food here. read more

I searched through the yelp reviews as I usually do and found this place. Food: unlike any Mexican food I've tasted. I am sure how to describe it. I have eaten so much Mexican so this is something to be said. I am assuming it is more authentic version on Mexican food since I am from Virginia. The waitress said they use authentic Mexican spices. Would not recommend the salsa. I asked if he was spicy and was told no. I asked for a chip to try before I committed. It burned my mouth. So if you do not eat spicy food would not recommend!!! Service: amazing, very attentive Ambiance: typical Mexican place. Parking limited. I would go back. read more

The service was great! Our waitress was attentive- it did take a while to get our food though. The food was not good. The chicken for the quesadillas was unseasoned and tasted like it wasn't good anymore. The sauce for the enchiladas tasted like water. read more

I think they could've done a better job with the decor. The men's restroom definitely need a cleaning water leak on the floor. The food was good. The waitress seemed very Inexperienced could've been the age. I will probably not go back. read more

A 3 star place in my opinion. We appreciated the fast, friendly lunch service. The chips and salsa (which are not complimentary) were delicious and I have no regrets about ordering them. We ordered off the breakfast menu (migas and the divided plate). I was a bit disappointed. They were just okay and I felt a bit pricey at $9.99. We were driving through so I don't have anything in Del Rio to compare them to for what that's worth. read more

I waited over 40 minutes for my food while everyone around me got theirs. The service was slow and no one checked in or explained the delay. Really disappointing experience -- wouldn't recommend. read more

Absolute no! save yourself the trip. The restaurant has no vibe at all, it looks so bare, hardly any decor. The service could be better, waitress hardly went to check on our table and when we asked for the tab as dead as it was that day, they still managed to get my total wrong and overcharged, as far as the food I have had soo much better. I truthfully have no interest in ever going back! If you know good food, this restaurant is not the place for you! do not recommend at all. read more

A place that looks like it could have potential but unfortunately that was not the case today. I had the guisado plate and it was less than average in taste and presentation. Instead of a gravy consistency it had a soupy consistency. The hole dish lacked any type of herbal flavoring that is typical to a good Mexican guisado. My friend had a fall apart torta all pastor. I call it that because the bread literally falls apart as you try to eat it. The torta was very small considering the price tag. Food also took almost 30 minutes to be served. Chips and salsa are not complimentary. Two girls began vacuuming next to our table as we began to eat. Needless to say the dust and the disturbance was free. This is sub par Mexican food and over priced for the quality and service received. read more

Visited this place while looking for a new place to eat in Del Río. Looked on Yelp and saw this place so decided to give it a try. Overall, the food was really good and would definitely visit again. The one setback here was that if I wouldn't have made mention of it, I would have been charged for everything. I ordered the consolada and it only came with 1 small corn tortilla and 1 flour tortilla. When I asked for another I was told it would be a charge. Then when I asked for rice and beans, which I thought a $18.00 plate would come with, it didn't and they told me they were going to charge me. Nonetheless when I got the register, the lady didn't charge me which I was glad to hear. So will certainly recommend this place for the good food and flavor and overall good service. read more

Lunch buffet had fish tacos, gordidas, ckn flautas, caldo, beans, cantaloupe, cake, pork chops, rice, and some cooked chopped beef. It was good, but it would be excellent if the food was warm. Service was good, ambiance was good, clean. read more

Went in the evening for the first time...found the menu confusing as it headlined "LUNCH". Had to ask if those choices were available at night.. Sat in the bar area. Ordered an enchilada plate and the food came out cold. Asked for it to be reheated. Came back lukewarm, but beans still cold. Thoughts of food poisoning going thru my mind for being off temp...waitress was very kind and did not charge for soft drinks, but will not be back. read more

I've been 3 times in the last 2 weeks and each time it was good. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. The flour tortilla shells taste soooo good. I had the mini Molcajetes my first visit and it was amazing. I forgot what my coworker had but the pic is below. One time I had carne asada fries and churros with my son and we ate it up. The carne asada fries with the verde sauce is so good. Now I can't wait to try the loaded churros. Ok for the one thing I didn't like the lemonade tasted a little watered down but was ok. read more

Food was very good/excellent and the $15 buffet was unbeatable. Waitress attentive and the buffet was varied and numerous choices. I had Chiles Reilenos (stuffed and fried pepper), crispy tacos, menudo, refried beans and rice, but there were probably 15 more different items. My wife ordered off the menu and had very good beef chalupas. Total bill was $38 plus tip. Not bad these days read more

We've been wanting to try this place for a while now. Every time we come to Del Rio this restaurant is always packed! Which it's a good sign. We finally tried it last night and glad we did! Staff was awesome. Our waitress Marisol explained the menu and was very kind to the fact my husband and FIL do not eat pork. They were very accommodating which we truly appreciate. My MIL requested a margarita that was not on the menu and Nikki the bartender came over afterwards to see if my MIL liked it... her mix request made for a new drink on the menu. When I say we really enjoyed this visit I couldn't wait to brag on this place! The food was AMAZING! Definitely get a molcajete! Ohhh if you like Fideo it's a hit.. way better than mine! First of all our waiter was excellent, but none of us in our group got his name. A tall, slim, young man in his early 20s??? Anyway, he was courteous, prompt, but not overbearing. Thank you!!! All the food was fresh and delicious, especially the pico and made that day salsa. Ice cold mugs for the Cheladas and beers and great salty dogs with fresh slices of grapefruit. The manager/owner came by to check on us and mentioned she had to run to the store as they were out of grapefruit. That was a great gesture and made us even more appreciative of the great meal and experience. The only downer is that we're from the Houston area and there is no telling when we'll be back in Del Rio. Thanks again!!! read more

First - the waitstaff are fantastic! They are friendly and smile easily and often! From the chips, salsas and guacamole appetizers to the variety of entrees we savored - the food hit the mark. Oh my goodness...yummmmm! Everything here was beyond delicious! From the chips and salsa to the piña colada and of course our entrees so tasty! Ordered the Torre de Camarones and I can't even properly explain how fantastic it was. The avocado perfectly balanced out the chile from the pico and acidity from the lime. Didn't have to add any salt or chile to make this perfect. My only complaint is that my stomach didn't have more capacity to hold an additional order. Kicking myself because I didn't take a picture of it all before I tore into it. Los Molcajetes is ABSOLUTELY a destination for me now purely for the torre de camarones! read more

I actually liked this place. The food was good and the plates are put together nicely. They have a lot of variety of foods hence the long menu. The music was kinda loud, but they turned it down eventually. They take feedback well and very friendly and nice. We will come here again. The table that we sat was a little dirty but they cleaned it with Lysol after. I think it's just a matter of wiping the tables as soon as they are cleared. I liked the environment and the vibes. They were playing good songs including Kumbia Kings. Also heard they have Live music. read more

What a great find. We haven't eaten here before. We stopped in for lunch as we drove around looking for someplace new. When you first walk in, you feel like you've stepped into a restaurant in the heart of Mexico. The colors, music and atmosphere are exactly like the restaurants I've visited south of the border. Our server was a very pleasant young girl. She was very attentive and friendly. The entire staff seemed friendly and enjoyed being there. The food was authentic Mexican food and very delicious. Food was ok. Service needs work! Had to wait a very long time for everything. Overall alright experience.

The wait was quite absurd but I'll cut them some slack for lunch rush. I ordered a fajita and my main issuer sandwich as not the food but the waitress said sorry for the wait and brought us some chips and salsa. When she brought the checks she had the audacity to say who should I charge for the chips and salsa? I'm like $5 for something no one ordered. Like wow read more

I know they have just opened there new place of business, and the interior is fantastic. The waitress are great but the male waiters leave something to be desired, waited 20 minutes for just the drink order, no ice was available unless you ordered mixed drinks, 25 minutes for just chips and salsa, (that's after our warm tea and water showed up, and 45 minutes after that our food order showed up. Enchiladas were cold, and some one needs to teach the cook how to make a proper chicken fried steak, (one of our guests was allergic to the spices in spainish food) ordered it with mashed potatoes did not show up till the end of the meal. complained the manager nothing was done. Then a forced 20% tip charge was added to the bill, before we had a chance to approve. I would not recommend or ever go back again to this spot, however there original location, staff and food are great and i think they need to just keep that going. This is a poor attempt at triing to be something there not yet. Steve M. read more
