I love the variety of yoga classes offered at the studio- from rest restorative classes to more active workout yoga classes. I love that they offer different services right at the studio to support you throughout your pregnancy too, such as pelvic floor physiotherapy and prenatal massages. The studio itself is beautiful and they have a friendly community. All the instructors thoughtfully plan out their classes and I am impressed every time. Decided to try out reformer pilates for the first time this year and went to Groove Barre's…read moreintroduction class. It's located on the second floor of the building and once you up the stairs you turn left for the reformer pilates, I believe there's other rooms for other classes on the right. I was greeted by the reception and had to sign a waiver form. You also have to wear pilates socks at this location during your exercises but if you don't have any, they have some for purchase at their studio. Once you walk into the room/ class you're expected to leave all your belongings like purses, wallets and phones at their cubbies since it's a no phone zone when the class is in session. Since I picked an introductory class, the instructor talked us through how to use the reformers and what to expect. During the class, I thought it'd be more useful if the instructor actually showed us how to do certain moves herself so we had a visual, rather than just talking us through the steps. As beginners, it would've been a lot more helpful. Knowing that this was a introductory class, I didn't expect to be sweating and be super sore the next day - which I wasn't. But I definitely felt some muscles being activated that I don't usually target. Overall, it was a great experience and I went back a couple more times after that. Take the introductory class as it really helped with understanding how to use the reformer and how the movements should feel.
