    Chicken Taco Salad with guacamole!
    Ed G.

It appeared to be a slow evening at Mojave Cantina. We were the only ones who were in the serving area. We had a great server, Brooklyn and both her and the shift manager were awesome and checked in with us a few time during our meal. We ordered what turned out to be a GIANT chicken burrito with beans and rice, and a ground beef Taco Salad! The complimentary tortilla chips were hot, crispy and oh so tasty with their awesome salsa. In the past we have enjoyed their Sunday brunch buffet. Definitely a buffet to experience. We'll definitely be back soon.

Had a great lunch here! Their salsa is so good! Staff was super nice an the interior was clean l chimichangas were good and so were the fajitas. They have a huge menu and are reasonably priced.

    Mojave Sampler

This place is alright. I had been eyeing it every time I'm in the area and I finally for a chance to try it. My dear friend and I treated ourselves to an extravagant lunch. The highlight of the meal, which is not to be understated, were the portion sizes. We started out with the Mojave Sampler and this could've fed both of us. We still had our entrees coming and knew we had an uphill battle if we wanted to finish (we just took leftovers home). I got the molcajete for my entree, already fighting for my life after the sampler platter, and this was another huge portion. The food was okay, flavor wise. Everything was pretty standard. Nothing blew me away, nothing was horrible. The ambiance is pretty nice, especially the patio outside. Would be a great place to get margaritas on a summer night. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review for South Lyon location. First of all I didn't get the "Hooters" vibe some reviews claimed. Salsa was good. It's mild. Chips unremarkable. Salsa size guacamole was $9. But this is what I took away from this weird meal. The sauce on the enchiladas tasted like Ragu. It was very Italian in flavor. This is confusing to the palette because I kept feeling like I was eating ravioli or spaghetti. The flavor was so off. This is definitely not authentic Mexican food.

Moldy chips and part of the soda dispenser in our drink. Food was mediocre at best, not very flavorful.

Delightful Sunday afternoon dinner. Our server was excellent and the food was tasty and plentiful. The ambiance is lovely. There is outdoor seating too.

Mexican pizza and in the background the Mojave combo

Very good and friendly staff, my wife had the Mexican pizza and it was very good, I had the Mojave combo it wasn't too good I had chicken for the protein and it was so dry and no taste, I definitely would not recommend it, I used the chip salsa to try and give it some taste and moisture.

Not bad not great just ok. Why is it so hard to find a good Mexican place ? it's not like the food is difficult to make most kids can put a taco together. Chimi wasn't crunchy more like elastic and chewy. Nothing great about beans and rice, tostada chips thick and cold nothing special. It's just ok I won't go back and i wouldn't recommend it, but hey that's me

Ordered takeout-cheese enchiladas. Food was very disappointing. Quality was that of a frozen dinner, at best.

Having said that, if it had come with pickles it definitely would have amped up the flavor profile of this burger and made for a better sandwich in my opinion. Possibly something to keep in min d and ask for if you go the Burger route. Aside form the burger, I ordered an Old Fashioned with Makers Mark Bourbon as the base for my cocktail. The drink was well made and quite tasty and a deal at $11 in my opinion. Aside from the burger there were an assortment of food options that I would classify as Elevated Bar food bordering on a Bistro style Menu that looked very interesting. Nice! The bar itself has a dark vibe to it to go along with the Western accents making for a nice ambiance to enjoy your drink/food. Plenty of tables running along side their massive bar and numerous TV's scattered about to allow you to watch the big game. Staff is quite friendly with good follow up throughout the meal. Overall a nice place to enjoy a well made drink and grab a bite to it. Its central location in the business district is also another huge plus if you want to make an evening of it in downtown Brighton.

From Retro Bliss to Corporate Miss - 1Up's New Management Hits Rock Bottom…read more.. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. 1Up Arcade Bar, once my go-to haven for arcade nostalgia and friendly vibes, has devolved into a shell of its former self. Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.

The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.
