We had a great time celebrating Cinco de Mayo. It was a packed house and were given free shots of tequila walking in the door!!! How cool is that! I ordered the Michigan Margarita and it was delicious! My chimichanga was very good, too! Fun spot, love the decor, and overall great spot to try if you're in the area.

Had a great lunch here! Their salsa is so good! Staff was super nice an the interior was clean l chimichangas were good and so were the fajitas. They have a huge menu and are reasonably priced.

The food was wonderful it was a very family-friendly environment nice decor and the waiters were quick and helpful they didn't mind making multiple trips when I forgot to ask for more to go boxes the chicken and steak were prepared excellent and the salsa was perfect I strongly recommend this restaurant and give them five stars as well as two thumbs up

Mojave Sampler

This place is alright. I had been eyeing it every time I'm in the area and I finally for a chance to try it. My dear friend and I treated ourselves to an extravagant lunch. The highlight of the meal, which is not to be understated, were the portion sizes. We started out with the Mojave Sampler and this could've fed both of us. We still had our entrees coming and knew we had an uphill battle if we wanted to finish (we just took leftovers home). I got the molcajete for my entree, already fighting for my life after the sampler platter, and this was another huge portion. The food was okay, flavor wise. Everything was pretty standard. Nothing blew me away, nothing was horrible. The ambiance is pretty nice, especially the patio outside. Would be a great place to get margaritas on a summer night. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Moldy chips and part of the soda dispenser in our drink. Food was mediocre at best, not very flavorful.

Delightful Sunday afternoon dinner. Our server was excellent and the food was tasty and plentiful. The ambiance is lovely. There is outdoor seating too.

Very good and friendly staff, my wife had the Mexican pizza and it was very good, I had the Mojave combo it wasn't too good I had chicken for the protein and it was so dry and no taste, I definitely would not recommend it, I used the chip salsa to try and give it some taste and moisture.

Not bad not great just ok. Why is it so hard to find a good Mexican place ? it's not like the food is difficult to make most kids can put a taco together. Chimi wasn't crunchy more like elastic and chewy. Nothing great about beans and rice, tostada chips thick and cold nothing special. It's just ok I won't go back and i wouldn't recommend it, but hey that's me

Cheese Enchiladas

Review for South Lyon location. First of all I didn't get the "Hooters" vibe some reviews claimed. Salsa was good. It's mild. Chips unremarkable. Salsa size guacamole was $9. But this is what I took away from this weird meal. The sauce on the enchiladas tasted like Ragu. It was very Italian in flavor. This is confusing to the palette because I kept feeling like I was eating ravioli or spaghetti. The flavor was so off. This is definitely not authentic Mexican food.

We went there Saturday around 3pm to avoid crowds. Pro: We liked the interior. There were lots of seating. The service was friendly. Good presentation of food. Con: The service was a bit slow though there were not many other customers. Food was a bit bland for us. We would go back again, but we would avoid peak hours. About $70 for 2 meals, 1 cocktail, and 1 beer.

Average at best. Edible but not great. Guac was sub par. Burrito was pretty dry. Good staff though.

I know, I know, there are good ones elsewhere, but it really seems like you have to go to California for the real deal. Well, those of you for whom South Lyon, Michigan is a frequent destination are in luck. Waycaster is the real deal. Of course it'll hard to find, what with the two other buildings in town, but hopefully the massive public transit system will help you out here. (Totally not making fun of the town- I live in a small town and only wish I had a tiki bar!) I tried 3 different kinds; pulled pork, pulled BBQ chicken, and angus beef. They were all excellent! So tasty and lots of flavor for such small sandwiches. The sweet potato fries were delicious! Great flavor with a touch of cinnamon sugar coating. Yum! Two meals plus a beer was about $38 plus tip. Definitely will be back soon!

Having said that, if it had come with pickles it definitely would have amped up the flavor profile of this burger and made for a better sandwich in my opinion. Possibly something to keep in min d and ask for if you go the Burger route. Aside form the burger, I ordered an Old Fashioned with Makers Mark Bourbon as the base for my cocktail. The drink was well made and quite tasty and a deal at $11 in my opinion. Aside from the burger there were an assortment of food options that I would classify as Elevated Bar food bordering on a Bistro style Menu that looked very interesting. Nice! The bar itself has a dark vibe to it to go along with the Western accents making for a nice ambiance to enjoy your drink/food. Plenty of tables running along side their massive bar and numerous TV's scattered about to allow you to watch the big game. Staff is quite friendly with good follow up throughout the meal. Overall a nice place to enjoy a well made drink and grab a bite to it. Its central location in the business district is also another huge plus if you want to make an evening of it in downtown Brighton.

From Retro Bliss to Corporate Miss - 1Up's New Management Hits Rock Bottom…read more.. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. 1Up Arcade Bar, once my go-to haven for arcade nostalgia and friendly vibes, has devolved into a shell of its former self. Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.
