Update: I received a call back from the office within an hour of posting this and was able to get…read moremy labs scheduled! I appreciate the issue being addressed so quickly and wanted to update my note accordingly. Thank you! ---------------------------------- This review is not for Dr Paredez, who is honestly a wonderful doctor - but for his office. It is literally impossible to get in touch with anyone there. I've tried calling multiple times throughout the day, waited on hold for 15+ minutes only for someone to pick up the phone and immediately hang up. I've tried leaving a message both on the phone and on their site - no response most of the time, occasionally a call back (roughly 1 out of 5-6 times). I was told the office would contact me to schedule labs but of course, nobody did, so now I am just waiting indefinitely. I rarely post Yelp reviews, but am so frustrated with the quality of care here that I have to look for alternatives and hope that enough such reviews will get the attention of the doctor and perhaps something will change eventually. I plan to look for alternate care- not because of the doctor (who is, again, wonderful) but because there is just no way to ever get in touch with anyone in this office.

I got a telehealth appt for him to look at my records - and he said it was clear why my doctor had made the recommendation she did (even if in other circumstances, people normally need to come in for a colonoscopy). Great that he explained it so well and saved me having to get a procedure! And my husband had a very easy experience here with his. Also, he sets his office up so that many times, nobody is available during office hours to answer a call and they don't call you back for hours even when you have left a message that you are in dire pain. I let him know about this and he said he doesn't agree with me and is not going to change anything or say anything to Romaine. I wish I would not have wasted months waiting for a colonoscopy to be treated in this unfair way.

Dr. Kamyar diagnosed me with fistulizing Crohn's disease and been with every single step of the way. While it can be tough to get on his schedule, he is beyond worth it. When the wait grows long, it's because he cares about his patients and gives each patient the time that they need. The burden of the wait is well worth the time he takes to listen to his patients. He is an excellent physician!!! Such a kind man with a great sense of humor! I'll be devastated when he retires but will never be able to say thank you for the help and support of Dr. Kamyar and his staff. While he is practicing, you couldn't pay me to see another GI.

The wait time was average for a new patient I would say. I talked with Reddy at length about my digestive problems and pain I was having. He gave me an examination and said he wanted me to have both an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Both would be performed on the same day which is good. After the exam we were taken into a room to watch a video on what to expect for the procedure. Then after that they had me sign some forms and told me they would call when they got the okay from the insurance referral. All went smoothly and I couldn't have been happier.

I write many reviews on this, that, and the other thing. I always try to keep things in…read moreperspective when I review people or a place. If you are reading this, you are probably in need of a medical professional. I mean, nobody reads these for fun right? Six months ago I was taken to the ER . At 11 pm nurses came into my room to tell me I was going downstairs for emergency surgery and they would contact my wife. When I woke up next morning I had a hole in me as big as a coffee cup saucer. I also had colostomy bag attached to my waist. The surgeon that did the surgery on me, from what I understand now, probably saved my life. When the surgeon came in the next morning, he told me how close I was. He also assured me the colostomy bag "WOULD BE" reversable after the gapping hole closed up. After the hole closed, my home care WONDERFUL nurse Diane, began reaching out to the doctor. The same doctor WHO: rescued me that night from sepsis. Attached the Colostomy bag. And then assured me "IF," a reversal could be done," HE" would be the guy to do it. CRICKETS. NOTHING. Dianes calls. My wife calls. MY CALLS. No call back. When we gave up on that doctor we went to a couple other docs who did exact same reversal. Things got real very quik. One doctor would not call us back and two other doctors selling gloom and doom that went along with the "DIFFICULTY'' of my procedure. My wife and I were afraid I'D have to live with this thing for the rest of OUR lives. Then we heard of Doc Schultzel. We heard about the robotic surgery he did. We had to try. When we met him, it was amazing. Finally !! someone was optimistic. He wouldn't make any guarantees but for our conversation it was clear this was gonna be our guy. The other doctors focused on how bad my situation was. DocSchultzel focused on the positive. We really believe the other Drs a little overwhelmed with what was left for them to workwith. Not Dr Shultzel. I probably don't need to say how amazing of a doctor he is., All you have to do is read his reviews ! What's just as important is his supporting cast starting with Emily!
