In the process of starting the bike I broke the kick starter due to the high compression (caused as a result of replacing the head gasket incorrectly) This happened on camera of the shop and even with that I was charged for a new kick starter because "there is no way you could have broken it with the kick down it had to have hit on the peg" This I found funny as the kick starter and peg have been like this since I bought the bike in 2019 and that is the original kickstarter with original adjustments which I bought from Honda of Riverhead. Not only was turnaround slow, but work was lackluster at best.I truly wonder if it's more on the owner giving time constants to his mechanics for turn arounds as for a job like a valve adjustment you would expect them to at least start the bike after the work is done to check. However if it wasn't for me doing that I would have had to deal with all of this myself or god forbidden bring it back to HOR and waist more money.

The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it would be nice if the bathrooms were air conditioned. Other than that, it all was a 5 Star!

If you're fishing in the area, you'd be well advised to stop here. Even if you only pick up some duplicates, you'll get excellent advice on where they're biting, recommended tackle and, if you need it as I did, advice on technique. Also, pick up some Green Crabs and give blackfish a try!

So he sends me the invoice via text....this is what the invoice says : PARTS AND LABOR -$6,000.00!!! My son and I were rushing to get the boat in the water for some fluke fishing and figured we'd pick up some bait and we stopped in. I was surprised to see a fairly well stocked store, with tackle and boating supplies and of course, bait. Spoke with the owner for a few minutes and realized they're a full service mechanic as well. I do most of my own repairs but the boat has suffered because I've been too busy lately, and most mechanics/yards are either too busy, too expensive or both. After speaking with John, he seemed like a good enough guy so I took a chance and dropped off my boat for repair. Long story short - I had the boat back quickly, and the repair was done right for a very reasonable price. Considering anything associated with the word 'marine' typically involves a shakedown, this was a very pleasant experience. Not that I'm looking forward to doing more repairs, but I'm glad to know that there's a reasonably priced and trustworthy family run shop within driving distance should I need them.
