She frequently talked over me and cut me off before I could finish my questions or receive clear answers. That kind of interaction is frustrating and not what you expect from someone running the front office of a dental practice. There was also a communication issue during the appointment. The hygienist was not informed that I was receiving orthodontic treatment, so the cleaning was started without removing the braces first, which should have been addressed beforehand. That said, the back office staff was great. The hygienist was very informative and took time to educate me on proper care and how often certain treatments should be done. The doctor and orthodontic staff were also excellent--professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Overall, the clinical care itself was solid, but the front office experience and communication need improvement, as they set the tone for the entire visit.

I have never had issues with my teeth and due to them causing nerve damage now have 2 teeth that are dying. To make it even better I find out that the guy who pulled my wisdom teeth was not an ORAL SURGON! Then they try to send me a bill for $2500+. I refused to pay it as I had to pay $4k out of pocket to fix what they messed up. So they try and take me to small claims for it. My lawyer ended up settling the case but it has Long since (about 4 years) cause damages to my teeth I'm still trying to have fixed, and let's not mention the PTSD of having to go to ANY dentist. 10/10 don't recommend if you care about your mouth, money, and long term mental health when it comes to the dentist.

I am terrified of dental clinics! Especially when its my first time visiting the clinic. However…read moreHeritage Dental has changed that sentiment for me. The staff is very attentive, courteous and professional. The clinic is clean and inviting. Their equipment is excellent and better than what I am used to seeing. I have lock jaw, very sensitive gums and a pretty small mouth which makes it very challenging for any dentist. Dr Sam and his tech (I forgot her name) were fantastic! They listened when I explained the challenges I face when getting dental work done. They were patient and allowed breaks when I could no longer keep my mouth open. Even though they worked on a few teeth I didn't feel as if they were rushing or trying to cut corners. I once had a dentist hit a nerve with the needle when numbing my gums. It was excruciating and lasted two weeks. The experience at Heritage Dental was soooo much better. I feel Dr Sam understood how nervous I was and took extra care when administering my injection. He and the tech also gently talked and soothe my nerves when I thought I would hyperventilate. Although I felt some pain it was manageable. I would recommend Heritage Dental to any and all looking for a dental clinic. They truly foster a family atmosphere.

So they proceeded to drill into my mouth with out any numbing solution.... Again I didn't know I needed this because I didn't know what to expect. They began drilling in my mouth, and I began to cry and just accept the immense pain. Then they finally noticed and asked what was wrong I told him that I could feel everything and it was hurting tremendously. The hygienist then goes I forgot to numb her mouth. Then he yells at the hygienist and then he starts injecting my gum line over and over and get upset that I didn't tell him that I was in pain.... Literally didn't know what it would feel like again and I even told him it was my first time. In my whole 23 years of life I've never had cavities until now. Anyway moving forward the original reason why I was even there was to get my wisdom teeth removed, and I prepaid for my appointment in advance, and then the doctor proceeded to tell me that he could not pull out my wisdom teeth due to the x-ray that he saw and that I would need surgery and he would refer me out mind you he had already looked at these x-rays at the last appointment we had so he could've told me that at the last appointment we had...so that was a waste of my time! So then since I took off of work so I could come to this appointment. I said well why don't we just get my fillings done instead. Boy was that a mistake... I should've just went home. This is how I got my fillings done if you would like to say that because then afterwards my bite was all off and I had pain for months!!! It was extremely painful to eat or drink anything for what felt like forever, whether it was a hot or cold food or beverage item. Now I'm trying to get the money back that I prepaid them and I've called 4 times now and they said they would send me a check and it's now January of 2025 and I have not received anything. If you care about your health and wellbeing do not come here!!

I called in to schedule an appointment in the mid-May, and I told them very clearly I have Tricare dental and asked them if they accept Tricare. They said yes they do accept Tricare and then set up my appointment on June 22. I showed up and checked in, then the front desk asked me to pay $100 copay, I told them Tricare covers 100% on the annual exam and x-ray and cleaning twice a year. Then they told me oh we are NOT in the Tricare network and you need to pay a copay $100! WHAT!!! WHY DID NOT TELL ME ON THE PHONE WHEN I CALLED THE FIRST TIME???!!!! I said then I do not want to proceed with the appointment and about to walk out, the manager saw that I was about to leave, she said oh I can just bill your insurance and waive the copay, since you are already here, I do not want to turn you away. We will just do the x-ray and you can take the images to another dental which is in the network. I accepted and proceeded with the x-ray. I was SO WRONG!! I really really should have left! Later of the day I found another dentist on Tricare Dental Program website and called them and told them what happened earlier today. I was told that: 1) they would need to do their own full mouth X-ray and not accepting what other dentist has done due to liability 2) Tricare only covers full mouth x-ray once every year, I would need to pay out of pocket for the second one. This place wants to make money so bad that they totally abused my insurance coverage! They knew clearly I had Tricare and they could not do any cleaning or needed treatment for me! Even they waived the $100 copay but they submitted $$$ claim to my insurance! Yeah, they got paid from insurance! Now I have to pay for another X-ray out of pocket! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMING PLACE!!!

I left a message Thursday evening. I got a call back first thing Friday morning and was able to be seen that day. Dr. Eck and his team made me feel comfortable and not shamed for my lack of dental care over the years. (Strahler was the previous owner, and before that, Penshorn to clear up confusion in how it may be listed on Google, and Dr. Penshorn still works there ). They assisted me through the process of applying for Care Credit and Alphaeon so I could pay for my services, emailing the links to make it quick and easy. I chose to get a full set of x-rays done (but I had the option to do a limited exam for only my problem tooth if I preferred or had limited funds). I'll be coming back in one week to get my temporary crown & deep cleaning, and 4 weeks later I'll get my permanent crown, which is porcelain, not silver, so I can still have a confident smile. They are all very personable, friendly, welcoming, and real. Every person. I have complete confidence in this team and the dentist to give me the best care. The office is clean and inviting. They offer complimentary products to brush your teeth in the lobby bathroom before your appointment (if you so wish) so you don't feel embarrassed coming in after lunch. I was surprised to see non-GMO snacks and healthy sugar-free drink options (with stevia! Not aspartame or sucralose- I LOVE Zevia drinks!). I'm so glad I found them! They are a God-send.

I was in a frustrating situation with my current dentist. All summer they laid out a plan for my…read moredental case which included two deep cleanings, a few crowns and fillings. As frustrating as i was at myself, i put hope into them to let me know everything that was going on with my mouth in order for them and myself to do the necessary work to get my mouth in a healthy state. I go all summer 2026 taking off from work, getting cleanings, etc. Then one day after i got my cleaning, i chewed down on the left side of my mouth, and it felt i went into the twilight zone. It was the most excruciating pain ive felt. I no longer can chew/eat on my left side because it felt like zings every time. So, i told my dentist and they scheduled me for some fillings. I walked in letting them know the pain. The front desk wanted me to pay first for two fillings on my left side. In my mind, i felt it was more than just two fillings that would elevate the pain. So, when i go to the back to speak to the hygienist, he was super incompetent and literally wanted me to show him the tooth that was bothering me. I'm like don't you have my chart in front of you!? It's not just a tooth, it's two teeth on my left side. So they do exams again and my dentist comes in telling me i need a root canal! I was like "A root canal!" I said "why didn't you tell me that at the beginning of the summer bc i didn't see that in my original exams" she tells me "well we didn't see it in your exams" I'm so frustrated and confused at the low technology they have and incompetence they lack. So, they recommend me to an Endo who is out of my network. I then take it upon myself to find Aspen Dental who not only has an Endo who is within my network, but I can also find a dentist here. I read reviews on Aspen, and i was nervous at first bc there were a lot of mix reviews. However, the women at the front including Ashley and Evelyn were soooooo welcoming and made me feel comfortable. As a black woman, i actually felt heard bc sometimes in the medical environments we're pushed aside for our pain. Dr. Haagan was thorough with me, told me what they saw and turns out i actually need 3 root canals. My last dentist office never told me this so i was glad Aspen Dental just let me know in detail EVERYTHING instead of half the story of my mouth. So, Ashley gave me a dental plan and I'm happy to start the process of getting my moth fix so i can eat in peace again and not feel like I'm going to another dimension
