I had a venue booked for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary... then came COVID…read more The venue cut to 50% capacity, which made it too small. I had to cancel and re-think everything. The venue needed to be large enough to accommodate distancing, catering and food service was sketchy since many places closed, local restrictions were fluid and I didn't live in the city where the event would be held. At one point, I thought we wouldn't be able to celebrate more than having a small dinner. It was discouraging. Then I found Milestone Memories and Events. I had a good feeling about Geri after our first phone call. The second call confirmed my initial impression. I needed someone with experience and good judgment that I could trust for advice. After all, large events take hundreds of decisions and bad choices can create bad experiences for all the guests. To give context, the guest list was 250 people. Given the circumstances, I estimated 100-150 would attend. The final RSVP count came in at 140. This was not a small event and we pulled it off in four months! Here are just a few highlights of my great experience with Milestone Memories: - We developed a budget, and came in under - They got to know us and designed decor and settings to match (my mom loved everything!) - Everything LOOKED AMAZING, tables, center pieces, lighting, photo backdrop, entry tables - All the logistics like how people enter, move, exit, accounting for seating, everything was great - They found the venue, catering, music and negotiated many details so I only made major decisions. I can't tell you how important that is because it can be overwhelming dealing with multiple contracts when the event is personal. - They took care of my parents and were so thoughtful of all their needs on the day of the event - Excellent communication throughout Geri and her staff are genuine, caring people and I'm so thankful we met. Don't misunderstand, she's a skilled project manager and straight forward communicator that will take care of business! What I mean is she thought of details that I could never have thought of. For example, she created a space for my parents to rest before the event and stocked it with a beautiful snack tray. She arranged a "Grand Entrance" which turned out amazing. My parents had a "first dance", and I mean they had never danced in public before, even at their wedding. This was Geri's idea and it made such an impact! This is the longest review I've written and it is still too short. What a great 4 month journey this was with Geri to create such a memorable celebration for my parents! People are still talking about it a week later. I still get emails and texts complimenting how great it was, and we have the best pictures to help us remember. Here's are a few things people are saying: "elegant", "fun", "relaxed", "beautiful", "amazing!"... My mom and dad loved everything! After working with Geri and her team for 4 months, I 100% recommend them to anyone needing a spectacular event!

The process was super simple. I found her on yelp. She hit me back probably w/in 15-20 minutes. I wanted a nice meal made for my wedding anniversary. Year 11 married for Hubby and I. I knew I wanted steak and potatoes. She came up w/the chimmichurri (which I knew I loved), zuppa tuscana and infused strawberry shortcake. She and her assistant/sous chef came over a little bit early (I was a little late ) and she was just awesome! Very warm, personable and knows what she's doing. They were ein my kitchen working their magic and the smell of mouth watering food filled the house. The soup was done first. Hubby basically melted into the chair after his first bite. Seriously! It was flavorful and light abs presented in a very simple but comfort food way. 10 out of 10! A bit later the steak, loaded potato abs brussel sprouts came out. BOOM!! Looked good as f*ck and tasted out of this world! The steak was seasoned well w/out being salty or over done. There was a slight non spicy zing from the chimichurri. Also need to note the chimmichurri tasted so fresh, and flavorful I wanted to eat just the chimnichurri w/a spoon or slather it on EVERYTHING!! I definitely ate at least have of my brussel sprouts w/this magical, fresh, herby sauce.... because it was that damn good! Eating this had me thinking up schemes... ahem plans to get Layha to stay and cook more... or everything . I can and end very much enjoy cooking... but now I feel like I can't go back to my own cooking (woman womp). Oh well. I already booked Chef Layha for New Year, my birthday and Mother's day before the meal was completed. She also made these cute and small bourbon infused strawberry shortcakes. Real strawberries. Simple delicious, and juicy flavor. NOT SOGGY at all. Not overly sweet. Flippin awesome ! She also made some rotelle nachos for my kiddos when they get out of school later. I'll be tasting that very soon. Probably right after I hit the post button . Either way Chef Layha has some real talent. She made my day as well as my husband's. Her food was impeccable. She cleaned up my kitchen after the meal and there's plenty extra food. We're going to enjoy this food the rest of this weekend. For real!! I'm so looking forward to our next meal(s) from her. I hope others catch on to her talent... but a tiny selfish side of me is hoping I get to keep her to myself. Sorry not sorry

Scambled eggs with cheese, bacon cooked to perfection with sausage, smothered potatoes and honey butter biscuits. She catered one dinner consisting of a taco bar with homemade Chipotle chicken, charro beans, homemade avocado crema with all the taco fixings ! She even made charcuterie cups and fruits cups for appetizers. Everything was fresh delicious, and nothing went to waste everybody was highy impressed by the taste and quality for the budget. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at this location. If it wasn't the only sandwich shop in town that doesn't charge stupid money for tiny / mediocre sandwiches, I'd go elsewhere. DO NOT ORDER THROUGH THE SUBWAY APP AT THIS LOCATION until you're sitting in the parking lot. Order on the app, walk inside, get in line (be prepared, bring a book to read because it'll take at least half an hour), and then walk the person making your sandwich through your order. If you do not do this, you'll end up with whatever they decide to throw on a piece of bread. I have no idea how this location hasn't had its license revoked. My guess is that'll happen soon enough. I've been here 10+ times, and every single time there's an issue (unless I go inside to walk their employees through their job). Long story short: go anywhere else. This place is just stupid inconsistent, beyond poorly managed, and just not worth your time or your dime.
