I came in for my much needed Pedicure as I'm nearing the end of my pregnancy. It was the usual decision making process of deciding between 4 colors for my toes. Then over to the pedicure chair for the back massage and foot soak, nail trim and file, then the ocean breeze scrub and lotion applications with leg massage. I felt so pampered as I was reading my hospital birth handbook that I walked out not realizing how relaxed I was from the pedicure Lily gave me, that I practically fell asleep as my husband drove me home. I recommend any third trimester woman needs to get a pedicure at least during the 8th-9th month before she begins her sleepless newborn nights. Every mother deserves a break. read more

Great atmosphere, great customer service, reasonable prices for the services. However, I came in for the $30 "Callous Off" pedicure and I left with just as rough feet after the lotion wore off. Not any smoother than when I walked in (hate to admit that about my feet but it's for the sake of the review.) I felt like I didn't really get my money's worth. The technician was very soft spoken and didn't speak great English so I felt like she didn't understand me when I said, "don't be afraid to really scrub!" My polish looked great though! I would go back, but maybe for a manicure or if I decided to get a pedicure again I would book with someone else. read more

Visited here for the first time recently. The prices are comparable with most nail salons (non-spa) in the area. It seems very clean, and the person who did my nails (Lee) was very nice and friendly. So far so good a week later. There was just one TV and it wasn't on for about 1/2 my visit, and I wasn't offered bottled water, although there was a cooler; I drank some from the water jug.. I wish I have read Susan W.'s review before I used their service. I came here first time for a regular manicure and the male nail tech jabbed the cuticle so hard that it bleed. I said oouch once and he still kept digging deeper at the same place faster than I could say stop then I oouch again. The second time we could see my blood came out and he kept saying that it's very normal, everyone bleed at this process. I said no, this is my first time bleeding at the nail salon! Then his response was that the other nail tech I went to must did bad job and not cut the cuticles. WTH! He then rubbed my cut with cotton ball with alcohol. I started to worry about all sort of disease that I could have contacted. His response was, they are very professional, they know what they are doing and they clean every tool they use. He said, 'There won't be any SUV disease that I should be worry about'. I was like ah, did you mean 'HIV'? Enough said, I was worried sick! After I got my first layer coat on, the nail tech used his dirty long nail to clean up the smeared polish. He jabbed through the same cut again! I was like WTH! I would not return or recommend to any of my friends. Now I pray for myself to not get any fungal infection from this incident :( read more

Interesting, I'm the first to review? Its your standard nail salon. The woman who did my nails was all business and flashed a killer smile at the end, but she was stoic throughout the manicure. Front desk was very friendly on the phone and in person. They hand out water for you and have big flat screen TVs for you to watch while drying. A-OK is exactly how I'd describe it. read more

Salon was completely empty with one other customer present. There were three nail technicians there, so there was not a staffing issue. This service was on the morning, so it was not like I came in 10 minutes before closing or several customers waiting. My technician did not greet me or speak to me. She did however speak to her fellow peers. The other guest was getting a polish change and had never been there before. I was able to hear all of this because again my nail technician did not ask me if I wanted the massager or if the water was too hot or cold or how I liked my nails shaped. The other guest was completely catered to. They changed the television to her preference without regard to me. They offered her the massager, menu of prices, and flip flops to wear out. They never offered me the massager or flip flops to wear out. They then overcharged me for the service I received. The menu pricing showing a different price than I was quoted. I was able to see this because they put a menu at the check out counter. This has nothing to do with COVID and everything to do with who they prefer as a customer. They basically told me they didn't want my money without speaking to me. No worries there because I will never go back. I would recommend any nail salon over this one. read more

As I was reading the past reviews I was weary of coming to Modern Nails but since I tried them I actually enjoyed my visit! Tina did a great job with doing with my french tips and I'd definitely go back. The environment was fun and things are a lot different with the new owner. For sure I'll recommend. read more

Went in to get my shellac removed only and didn't put another on my nails. I sat down with Rose and she was ok, I asked how much & said $5. I got up to pay and they tried to charge me $10. I had a spa pedicure given by Dan. I asked how much it would cost before he started and he said $25 and up. He showed me a menu of treatments ranging from $40 - $50 and he said I should get the $50 treatment. The menu did not have the $25 price on it which was originally quoted to me. I had to find a different menu with the lower prices on it which he did not show to me. Monica gave me a manicure and she was extremely rude. I wanted the basic $14 manicure and she three times tried to push me to get a $30 gel manicure (after I three times told her no)because she claimed gel dries faster. She was abrupt and short with me. She pushed my hands frequently on the table. When she finished the manicure she just walked off and didn't even thank me for coming. She was mad that I didn't get a gel manicure. I am a regular here. Dan, Rose and the team are always courteous and ready to take walk ins. They will accomodate any requests that you may have. The TV is always on, they have bottled water. Have not experienced any poor ventilation as described below. read more

Used to love this place but last visit 12/13 left me with a fungal infection I have been doctoring for over 7 months and lost 1/2 my great toenail! Was jabbed with instrument and that was where it began so I recommend staying away as don't notice any sanitation of instruments-save yourself some grief, money and toenails! read more

I've been here twice now recently and have had really good service. Great pedi and love the SNS (organic non-gel) manicure.

My daughter, grand daughter and I came in for mani/pedi. My daughter had about 5 coats of polish put on her toes, took forever to dry.My grand daughter's manicure didn't last through the evening. I have had much better pedicures and my manicure was messed up before I ever got home. Worst manicure I have ever had, no base coat, polish was extremely uneven .The staff was very rude speaking in their own language and laughing. Had too many clients, everyone that walked in they accepted and then rushed or spent no time with the clients already there.Would never recommend. read more

I have been going to Modern Nail off and on since they opened...I am not a regular manicure person. But I decided to do acrylic/gel nails for the summer, so I stopped in. Lily did a fantastic job on my nails and she was so lovely to talk to. I learned that they are under new ownership and management and I met Calvin the new owner who is just the nicest guy!!! He was interested to know what he can do to make my experience better and more enjoyable...well I think he already did by asking me what I thought!! If you haven't been to Modern Nail, you should give them a try!! And if you haven't been back in awhile, you should give them another shot. I am a fan!!! read more

I went in to get acrilics on and was extremely disapointed. Not only did they charge me for taking off me nail polish ($5) but they also scammed me by doing a really aweful and poor job on my nails. I left the salon with all of my nails different length, when I initially wanted them short, ans they are all mised between swuare edges and squaree rounded edges, which I had initially asked for square rounded edges. I will NOT be returning. It was a waist of fourty dollars and plan on getting them fited tomorow at another salon. read more
