I was hoping to get an appointment that week but lucky for me they told me that they actually had time to take me in within the hour! Super happy about that!So I made my way over there. It's on Ventura so you'll expect to find some meter parking. I got a mani and pedicure. They have a large selection of polishes. OPI and lots of Essie. The owner Maya is very hands on and willing to work with customers. If you are not happy or encountered problems just bring it up right then and there . I was here on July 27th for a fill and pedicure. Not sure if it's a new owner but prices have really gone up! Shayda, I think that was her name did my fill with gel polish. She did a really nice job but didn't speak much at all. I didn't get the gal's name who did my pedicure but it was nothing special! No massage and just rubbed lotion for 30 seconds on my legs. Don't understand why it came out to 59.00 for my services. After tip 69.00. I can get a callous remover and much better pedicure for less money. It's so close to my house it's a shame. Sorry but don't think I would come back. Update, nails started lifting after 18 days, my other place could go 3 to 4 weeks before that even happens. read more

This place is right down the street from my apartment. The place is really simple. Kind of drab really compared to what I am used to. The manicure I got w/designs on two of my nails was only $15, and they did a GREAT job! I had no expectation considering how cheap it was. Do not go to this Salon if you care about proper sanitation and COVD-19 protocols. I was just there and one of the nail specialists wasn't even wearing a mask. Her customer was also walking around without a mask on. The service is indoors so there is of course no air ventilation. If they don't believe in masks I'm sure they also don't care about proper sanitation. I canceled my appointment and simply walked out. They also did not seem to care or take accountability for their lack of proper care. I give this salon a 0 star. It's because of people like that, that our numbers are not going down. read more

Got a groupon for this place and had decided to give it a try. Place is clean , chic and love the ambience. It's a small place but I like it as it's more private. Rona is my manicurist, she is amazing, she help me pick the color and the stone design, I got so much compliment on them! Parking is easy, there are plenty of street parking right infront of the salon. But it's 1 hour only, so make sure you make time to put additional money. There should be parking at the back as well, I will check it out next time and update my post! read more

The ambiance is nice, but I'm not thrilled with their skills. The staff is very friendly, however I don't think they have much experience. My nails are messy, and the manicure as a whole felt rushed. I'm always on the hunt for a cute nail salon as the place I usually go is a bit of a drive. I'm always driving up and down Ventura Blvd and I've seen this place a million times. I decided to go on yelp and look up some pictures and some reviews... The pictures looked cute and the reviews were pretty great... So with that being said I decided to give this salon a try... I guess it's true... stick to what you know... This place is horrible. HORRIBLE!!! I repeat horrible!!! First of all they reuse utensils. They use the same utensils they use on previous clients and reseal them into the same sterile packaging sleeve. On top of that this place reeks of cigarettes. You would think a salon that looked so cute on pictures on Yelp would smell so clean, so fresh and so airy but no, it smelled as if a 90-year-old woman has been smoking in this business for the past 25 years. There are certain things in a business that I can turn a blind eye to but customer service is major for me. The lady doing my nails had the worst attitude. I'm all about the energy people give me as well as vibes and her energy was so dark! I didn't even want her to work on me but what could I do I was already here.... Purchased the Groupon. Scheduled my appointment 3 days in advance because of how important it was that I get my nails done on the specific date. I was welcomed w somewhat manic attitude when I walked in on time for my 5pm appointment. "You don't have an appointment!" I showed her the messages from Maya that confirmed my appointment. Waited for 40 minutes as 2 staff worked on a single woman. 3 ladies were waiting (I arrived first).... I overheard them talking about the reviews on Yelp not being accurate and the costumer they were cheerfully working on giving them advice (For the record, i will not change my review. Please do not offer me free service). Then more discussions on being understaffed were had all the while we waited without a hint of concern. I got bad vibes from this place. I called a different nail place and requested a refund from Groupon. I'm starting to really think twice about using Groupon but they were very kind about my life experience. Parking is bad on the street. They have 2 spaces in the back... beware of the dog poop as you make your way into the salon. Best of luck to the new owner- she seemed so nice. read more

Best nail salon in the area! They remodeled the place, so it's very beautiful and cozy inside. Maya, (the owner) is very sweet and welcoming. Andrea did my nails, and she did an amazing job. Usually when I go to salons, I have to repeat myself over and over again to make sure I will get what I ask for, but with Andrea it wasn't like that at all. She understood what I need right away, and did my nails beyond my expectations!! So happy!!! Another thing to mention is, comparing to all other salons in the area, everything here is very clean and all the implements are sterilized. Literally had the worst manicure ever. I got my nails done here for my first time for prom and they were so ugly. So ugly to the point I peeled off my gel manicure the following day and had to get my nails redone the day of my prom. I had showed the lady a picture of what a I wanted, a simple white nail with a black triangle at the base and she totally messed that up. It was so sloppy, so uneven, so unprofessional. The white nail polish she used was probably old, it was so goopy, and she slabbed two coats of that on so thick that the nail polish easily dented when it touched something by accident. It's been a few months since I came here but this review is really needed. I came here with two other friends when we called they were really nice and took all 3 of us immediately. All 3 of us have gel nails and to begin with they're fairly priced. Better then most places. The mani itself was okay for me with the except that the manicurist took the nail file out of the trash can right in front of all 3 of us and attempted to use it on my hands. When I asked her to please use a new one she gave me an attitude and walked away pissed off. 1st of all if you'd like to keep your license part of the deal is hygiene lady! Don't use dirty items taken out of the trash. Worst of all I saw you digging through the trash for it! Ew!!! She did come back with a new file... I decided to just let it go, and continue with my girls day out... The pedi for all 3 of us was crazy rough. Neither one of us has bad feet so no need for it. Those pedi's lasted about 3 days as well :-/ Now to top it off a few years ago I came here to get acrylics, which they did an amazing job but never again will I set foot in this place. read more

The 3 stars is for my pedicure, the man who worked on my toes was attentive and friendly but the pedicure it's self was average. My manicure done by another women was less than satisfactory! I am sitting here picking at all of the cuticle that she somehow missed. If I were basing this on my manicure only I would only rate this place 1 star. Absolutely fabulous, talk about great care! A dynamic and wonderful team between Maya and Andrea. They are fast, efficient, kind and caring. You are greeted with a warm welcome, offers of wine, water or coffee, rose petals in the basin, large swanky pedicure chairs and most importantly a great experience and end product. I was actually present when 10/6 review (So Yum O) came in her "appointment." Albeit, it appeared there was a misunderstanding with her appointment, but she was met with courtesy, apologies and an attempt to accommodate-- her resistance to their kindness and (entitled) attitude was apparent to all the other customers and had us all looking at each other. It is unfortunate that some people approach life and situations with such negativity. The salon is under new management and staffed with 2 lovely ladies but they hustle and are looking to hire more but still do a great job. read more

Trust bad reviews! My pedi was done in about 15 minutes and the mani in 10 - very rushed. The cuticles were pushed, not removed. The worst salon. Customer service non existent. The lady with 2 inch nails does your nails, so imagine what she can offer. read more

I'm not sure how real these 5 star reviews are.. I'm not one to write bad reviews but I was really disappointed. I came here because it had good reviews on Yelp. I showed up to my appt on time (actually 1 minute early). The salon was empty except for 1 customer and 2 nail technicians. I found it odd to be so empty on a Friday since all the other salons I've been to on Fridays are slammed. Anyway, the customer/friend and the 2 nail technicians were all eating together at the station in the front and were speaking Farsi the whole time.. didn't even acknowledge that I was there. I waited about 7 minutes for them to call me over for my mani/pedi. I actually almost walked out because I felt like the customer service was the worst I had ever experienced. Once I was sat down for my service, they still continued to speak in Farsi (all three of them) and my technician probably said 2 words to me the whole time. Don't get me wrong, they weren't mean to me or anything, but it seemed like they just didn't care. The mani/pedi I got was good (what you would expect) so I was satisfied with that. However, I was getting a little impatient because it took almost 2 hours to get a normal mani/pedi (my other nail lady takes half that time and does a great job). Overall, the mani/pedi was average, the customer service was absolutely awful. I felt super uncomfortable and unwanted there. I won't be going back and don't recommend this place to anyone unless you're a friend of theirs or speak Farsi. read more

I came in here 2 days ago on the recommendation of a friend. I got a gel mani and pedi. Both were ok, however hygiene in this place is terrible. The tools seemed to be used on everyone, I'm used to sterilized tools that get used once. The inside was kind of dark and drab and not very up to date, but I can overlook that. My biggest issue however was during the course of my mani/pedi I looked to my right where a pregnant woman was getting her pedicure and saw a small baby roach crawling on the chair. That is just GROSS!! The fact that this was a baby roach indicates that there are definitely siblings and parents hanging around. They probably come out at night and crawl all over the multi use tools too!! NEVER AGAIN will I come here! read more

The place is in a generally good area and the salon is pretty. But when I went to get my nails done it wasn't that great. When I got there we had to wait because they were behind, and honestly it wasn't a big deal but when the lady called me to do my nails that when disaster struck!! First as usual they put my nails in water which was in a fancy dish. When she saw the color I picked she talked about it being to dark for her taste but nonetheless was a pretty color. When she started it, it first came out clumpy so she decided to take it off. Her excuse was that she didn't want me to go home unsatisfied (which I still did) After she finished my nails I realized that she didn't paint my whole nail the sides we not painted also pieces of the top, the nail polish was on the cuticle and the shape of my nails were not cut well. And after five days they starting to chip! Overall they are nice people and a pretty place but the job is not done well. read more

The pictures.... the service they offer etc looks nice but the overall product was low quality! I paid $60.00 for a full set and pedicure. Lets start with the set, i informed the manicurist that i wanted my nails short, also to make sure she glued the tips enough to last! She didnt make then short and One day passed and my nail tips popped up, i called them and she asked me to come in, all she did was add more glue, a couple of days later as i went to pick up my purse my nail went flying!!! I had to go to my old manicurist to fix them, when i got there she suggested i removed them in case water got into my nails! There went another 30 something bucks! Now the pedicure was alright, the girl caught my skin twice with the cuticle clippers. I have had better pedicures over all if you really are on a budget then modern nails is your best bet, but if you can spend a bit more go somewhere else! read more
