This was my second float, but first time here. I really enjoyed this place. It's an eclectic place with a futuristic feel. The white walls and souroundings paired with astronaut art work gives it a space odessay 2001 feel. The staff walk me through a brief orientation before we started. The float rooms are blue lite and feel very surreal. The float rooms are large bathtub like rooms with blue lights and stars on the ceiling. This time around I really relaxed, it felt serien and comfortable. I didn't get too hot this time and was in a nice trance when the music started. I took my time getting out and needed a moment to come back to reality afterward. The rooms are sound proof and super relaxing. They do offer tea afterwards. But I settled for water. I felt way more relaxed in this tank than the other one I used. I bought the 4 for $150 July deal. I was really relaxed afterwards. Excellent place to chill.

The thought of complete relaxation and letting go kinda stresses me out. So when my boyfriend surprised me with a 2 hour float session...I was nervous but curious at the same time. This would be a challenge to me. Especially, since he added the little tidbit that I would have to go nude! The place is very spa like. Waterproof sandals are available at the front entrance. Grab a pair when you take your outdoor shoes off. To add to the relaxing atmosphere, Himalayan salt lamps are displayed in the lobby and washroom area. There's a comfy sitting area to wait until your room is ready. The staff bring you to your private pool/shower room for a bit of a mini orientation. No one will see you naked. Everyone gets their own private room, complete with a float pool next to the shower. The whole room can be locked. There are wall hooks inside the shower room where you can hang your stuff. You will need to shower and use shampoo and body wash before you get into the pool. Save the conditioner for after, otherwise it'll just go straight into the pool. There are buttons on the inside wall of the pool to control the lighting. You can choose a blue star lit ceiling, a solid blue glow or a complete darkness. To my surprise I preferred the complete dark! At first I thought I would like the blue stars and the blue glow, but I found the color kind of unnatural and somewhat unsettling. I might've felt more relaxed with a yellow star lit ceiling or even a faint yellow glow to the room. But the ultimate goal is to experience sensory deprivation. It worked out that I enjoyed the darkness. Just in case, an emergency button is available inside the pool area. The staff can open the locked doors if they need to. But they advised to try to getting out of the pool first. The water isn't deep at all. You can sit in it. There's a toilet seat shaped halo thing (made of foam) to cradle your head. Use this if you need extra help keeping your head afloat. Warning: Salt will go into your ears. You can use ear plugs but then you might get distracted by the sound of your heartbeat. Whenever you open the door to the private pool, the lights go on (temporarily) in the shower area. The air is much cooler in the shower area. It seeps into the pool area when the door is open. The water in the pool isn't too hot or cold (the water temperature is 34 degrees Celsius) but the air inside the pool area seems pretty warm. While in the pool, I'd periodically open the connecting door into the shower room to cool off. You lose track of time in this kind of environment. Music comes on when your session is over. When you get out of the pool, you have to use these ear drops (made of vinegar and water). These are available in open vials (in a bowl) in the shower area. This is to prevent salt from crystallizing in your ears. Outside the private room, down the hall, there's a shared vanity area available, complete with a hair dryer, lotion and Q-tips. However, you need to bring your own comb. When you return to the outside lounge area, the staff offer you complementary tea. I had a choice mint, herbal or chamomile. I thought chamomile would be the most appropriate post float. Overall, this was a super unique experience. It was my first time to try this. I was nervous. Next time, I I'll enjoy the experience more because I'll know what to expect. This is a great place to practice relaxing and letting go!

Plus, the tank I was in didn't seem to seal right so there was light getting in, and I could hear people outside.

It's very cozy and welcoming inside and the staff were very polite and cheery which always helps when you're trying out a new place for the first time. My massage was with Kassidy and her hands worked magic. We did a 1hr relaxation massage and it flew by so fast. The room was nice and large, the lighting was perfect, so was the music. Not sure was massage oil she used on me but it smelled amazing and not like your typical peppermint oil most places use. They also accept benefits if you have them. It's very close to the Costco in Sherwood Park and has tons of parking. They follow the COVID protocols and are super clean. August 30- I had the pleasure of coming back to try out some float therapy for me and my partner and it was super cool, both a first for us. The staff did an amazing job of going over everything for us. You're placed in your own single room with your pod, no need for a bathing suit because you go in your birthday suit! You shower and rinse off before going into the pod, they have showers fully stocked with shampoo and body wash. The pod has the options of blue light, multi Color light or no light, it's filled with tons of salt so you float so be warned you will feel slippery and do not get the water on your face or in your eyes (if you do they have a fresh water bottle to spray your face off). TIPS: They will offer you Vaseline to put over any cuts so you aren't stung by the salt water but I HIGHLY recommend you apply that to armpits or any other area you may have just shaved or waxed if you know what I mean. I'd also suggest you put Vaseline on any cracks you have such as eczema. As cool as it was the salt water really irritated my eczema and made my skin itch, also suggest you get the firm ear plugs they'll offer you and not the soft ones as they fell out repeatedly. WISHES: I really wish that the water could have been a tad warm/hotter. Would also be cool if you could do 30 or 45 minute sessions- I know it's an hour so you can meditate and relax but even a 45 min session woulda sufficed. It would also be cool if you had the option to play spa music or a noise machine in your pod to wind down instead of going straight into silence (music will come on 3 minutes before you session is over to let you know you're about to finish).

The lobby has a nice relaxing atmosphere when you come in, and you are offered a pair of freshly cleaned sandles to wear. The attendant was very welcoming and explained the process, as well as offers a iPad that gives details of instructions and a bitnof what you can expect during your visit. The room you are assigned is clean with a fresh towel and ear plugs set aside for you. There is a shower to clean yourself before and after the salt water soak. The salt water soak itself is super relaxing (as long as you are not claustrophobic). It is a fairly large tub, big enough to stretch arms and legs out fully. You have control of the light in the tub, and there is an emergency button for just in case (but doubtful it would be needed). The water is super salty, so you naturally float on the surface, which makes it so you feel completely weightless. If you are into meditation, this is a great place to go for exactly that; as it blocks out all sound and light, which gives you a fully immersive experience of focusing inward. During my float I was able to focus on troubled muscles, and was actually able to relieve a fair amount of aches, just by slowly moving and rotating arms, shoulders, and legs in the water. This was such a great way to become connected to your body, and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely go back in the future.

I booked an appointment for my mother for her birthday and received an email in my inbox immediately after booking which confirmed the appointment and also noted that she may want to arrive early to take advantage of the pre/post-float meditation room. When she arrived at float-zone in advance of her appointment, no one was present at the location and the doors were locked. She knocked, but no one came to the door. She called but received no answer. When she tried to leave a message, the voicemail was full. She waited a full 50 minutes in -15 weather (from 1:05 to 1:55) for someone to show up for her appointment, and no one did. For such "self-care" focused business, Float Zone has little to no regard for the time or happiness of its clients. Beware before you book, and definitely, don't pay in advance.
