First off they have the introductory which are awesome and very helpful. Also 100% dont shave that day or have any cuts! The actual float is amazing and being a large room you won't get claustrophobic. Literally for a few minutes my mind wouldn't shut off but then I did hit something... It was extremely relaxing. 100% will do it again, at this place its great! The one thing I didn't like and why it didnt get 5/5 was I didnt see any staff the entire time I was there. I get it, we are adults and I did not actually need anyone however personally I would have preferred to see a smiling face at the front. That just a personal thing, I dunno if I feel more secure or what... Either way place is awesome and I highly recommend it!

Whoa. Feeling…read morestressed ? Who isn't. Today, I booked online for the first of three 60 minute floats at Modern Gravity. I have been wanting to float for a while, but had postponed fearing I would feel claustrophobic. Boy, was I wrong !! I had Envisioned a bottomless tub, where I would close the door casket style onto myself. NOPE, NOT EVEN CLOSE (ha!) This experience was reminiscent of a day at the spa, without the sensory overload. The Studio is modern (I know) with clean lines. The staff (owners) are calm and friendly. The float chambers at modern gravity are massive. High ceilings, wide walls. Essentially, you walk into a temperature controlled, mega-spa-bath. I controlled the environment - Lights, No lights, Chamber door open/closed. Within, seven minutes of arriving, I was floating !! Ear plugs were provided, I got naked, showered, opened the large chamber door, stepped into my bath and Voila - I was floating (Insert David Bowies, Space Odyssey) I spent the majority of my float, eye's closed, feeling safe and completely carefree. The rest of my time was spent giggling. Fun fact: Two hours after my float I feel joyous and focused. I now understand. Check them out, money well spent !

I pay a monthly fee of $40.00. I can make an appointment with very little notice. I can also request a longer float. 2 or 3 hours. Whatever I need. Everything is squeaky clean. There is an amenities alcove for your beauty needs. A chill out room for tea and reflection. Great location. Closed Tuesday.

You come in and you enter your own private room with shower, ear plugs, towels, shampoo and conditioner. Be prepared to be floating for 75 min and simply meditate and think about nothing. It's very cozy and welcoming inside and the staff were very polite and cheery which always helps when you're trying out a new place for the first time. My massage was with Kassidy and her hands worked magic. We did a 1hr relaxation massage and it flew by so fast. The room was nice and large, the lighting was perfect, so was the music. Not sure was massage oil she used on me but it smelled amazing and not like your typical peppermint oil most places use. They also accept benefits if you have them. It's very close to the Costco in Sherwood Park and has tons of parking. They follow the COVID protocols and are super clean. August 30- I had the pleasure of coming back to try out some float therapy for me and my partner and it was super cool, both a first for us. The staff did an amazing job of going over everything for us. You're placed in your own single room with your pod, no need for a bathing suit because you go in your birthday suit! You shower and rinse off before going into the pod, they have showers fully stocked with shampoo and body wash. The pod has the options of blue light, multi Color light or no light, it's filled with tons of salt so you float so be warned you will feel slippery and do not get the water on your face or in your eyes (if you do they have a fresh water bottle to spray your face off). TIPS: They will offer you Vaseline to put over any cuts so you aren't stung by the salt water but I HIGHLY recommend you apply that to armpits or any other area you may have just shaved or waxed if you know what I mean. I'd also suggest you put Vaseline on any cracks you have such as eczema. As cool as it was the salt water really irritated my eczema and made my skin itch, also suggest you get the firm ear plugs they'll offer you and not the soft ones as they fell out repeatedly. WISHES: I really wish that the water could have been a tad warm/hotter. Would also be cool if you could do 30 or 45 minute sessions- I know it's an hour so you can meditate and relax but even a 45 min session woulda sufficed. It would also be cool if you had the option to play spa music or a noise machine in your pod to wind down instead of going straight into silence (music will come on 3 minutes before you session is over to let you know you're about to finish).

The lobby has a nice relaxing atmosphere when you come in, and you are offered a pair of freshly cleaned sandles to wear. The attendant was very welcoming and explained the process, as well as offers a iPad that gives details of instructions and a bitnof what you can expect during your visit. The room you are assigned is clean with a fresh towel and ear plugs set aside for you. There is a shower to clean yourself before and after the salt water soak. The salt water soak itself is super relaxing (as long as you are not claustrophobic). It is a fairly large tub, big enough to stretch arms and legs out fully. You have control of the light in the tub, and there is an emergency button for just in case (but doubtful it would be needed). The water is super salty, so you naturally float on the surface, which makes it so you feel completely weightless. If you are into meditation, this is a great place to go for exactly that; as it blocks out all sound and light, which gives you a fully immersive experience of focusing inward. During my float I was able to focus on troubled muscles, and was actually able to relieve a fair amount of aches, just by slowly moving and rotating arms, shoulders, and legs in the water. This was such a great way to become connected to your body, and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely go back in the future.
