As a long time client for 8 years, who has been personally asked this year to give a "testimony" for the website...I am sad to say, Wellness on Whyte has become toxic and unprofessional. I am no longer recommending them. They use to be different, and have changed... Bullying, defaming character, playing games, lying... not a way to keep your business alive by allowing staff to treat people with frequent relational aggression, etc without addressing professionalism. Reason #1 to avoid Wellness: If a spa is not toxic, Practitioners should not be constantly bullying clients into getting less services by devaluing their pain and disabilities. WOW staff are taking their personal problems out on their clients. It's actually been difficult to adjust to being treated professionally at other businesses/clinics... being respected, listened to, and valued feels odd... that's how toxic Wellness has become. I've felt such relief since I've stopped supporting WOW... you actually get treated well at other businesses/clinics! "No, I still need weekly treatment, means no, I still need weekly treatment." Clients should not have to say this over and over. As my physiotherapist remarked, clients should not have to validate their chronic pain to you, it's your job to listen. Initially, I gave them a chance to remedy it, however, in the end, I can't trust a place of business with my pain that supported this unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour from an RMT. When I was not well enough one week to get specific feedback to the massage therapist right away, I was told she no longer wanted to work with me. After 8 years of trusting someone, it was a shock. I broke the silence about unprofessionalism, and was fired as a client for it. Unsettling. Reason #2 to avoid Wellness: As another example, the STAFF centred care has become out of control... Products should not be taken off the shelf so you can't buy them and placed back out later. I started buying online so the staff could not lie to me about how much was left of a particular facial product... it's truly unprofessional. Wellness on Whyte has become unprofessional and has come away from client centred care. It's sad. One of the causes may be that the practitioners themselves use the products and services of Wellness, which is already a very small business. Wellness has limited appointments! When the practitioners see you booking services in advance, they become upset. The business model is flawed: It is another reason why it's become toxic. You can't have practitioners pressuring clients to cancel other appointments they genuinely want and need because they themselves want the services/ are horse trading with other practitioners in Wellness. If Wellness was not allowing their practitioners to "horse trade" services etc within the company, then there wouldn't be practitioners competing with clients for appointment spots. Again, highly unprofessional. Reason #3 to avoid Wellness: The more money you spend here, the more jealous the staff becomes and the meaner they get. It's bad business to let your staff bully your best clients. The LESS money you spend here, the MORE they will respect you. A clinic where the staff get a mean attitude when you give them more business, is not a place to be. In conclusion, I never thought after years of supporting this business that they would shift in such an unprofessional direction. They even somehow got my review removed from another platform, which is why I had to post on Yelp, where they cannot manipulate my review. Interesting how they do business here.... I wouldn't trust them with your credit card either, as they will charge you for half your appointment cost, even when you had unavoidable sickness or emergencies. They will waive the cost one time, and not again. The new polices allow them to rip you off, and it will cost you even if you don't get a reminder they were supposed to send. It's truly shocking how much the money matters most here, and yet on the other hand, the more money you spend, the more they treat you mean out of jealousy. Very unprofessional. My advice? Spend your money somewhere they actually want you to! LOL read more

This was my first time here and I was very impressed. I called very short notice and was able to snag an appt with an RMT. I didn't know if this was a good sign or bad sign. The receptionist on the phone was warm and welcoming and answered all of my questions about parking and billing. I booked just over an hour in advance and thought I would stop for a drink on the way there and it would give me time to fill out my paperwork online. I couldn't access the paperwork via a link in the email, so figured I would just show up early to have it covered. When I arrived, there was lots of parking which pleased me greatly. I tend to not try some businesses based on access to parking, and maybe I am missing out! But it is something I look for at a business option. It's on the third floor and there is an elevator or stairs. I took the stairs which are beautiful. It's a very cool building with all it's "wellness" stored in house. From a health food market, to massage, psychologists, etc It took me a bit longer to check in, as my paperwork had to be done, and I was a bit nervous that it may cut into my appt time as other reviews has mentioned this, but it didn't. We did start late, but of course she ran late with the massage giving the time paid for of session. Noted and appreciated! I had Jessica as a masseuse and she was warm and excellent at her service. Her accent is adorable. I had a full body relaxation massage and will be back for sure. Honestly, why aren't we all doing this for ourselves more often if affordable. FABULOUS. This is the best place in YEG for acupuncture and massage. The vibes of the space are very relaxing and the customer service is excellent. I have been seeing Sandra for acupuncture for about a year and a half now. She is wonderful! Very attentive, explains everything she is doing and is always willing to mix it up. I am so happy to have a regular acupuncturist that I can rely on and develop a great relationship! Recently I also tried a massage, as I was having some strains in my back. Jessica was my massage therapist and she was lovely. The massage includes aromatherapy, deep tissue and cupping. I am excited to explore other treatments at Wellness on Whyte! I love the set up here. Every time you come in and leave they offer you a glass of water. I think its a small detail but such a nice touch. The staff are great and the decor is very relaxing. Now I have come three times and seen three different therapists. The first two committed the sin of cutting the session too short. I was very careful all three times to arrive minimum 15 minutes early. I was frustrated that I was left waiting until 3-5 after my appointment time. I am really careful to respect peoples time and not be late...I would expect the same courtesy. The first two appts my massage was 8 minutes short the first time and 4 minutes short the second time. I just don't understand why people do that when providing a healing service. I will say the third visit not only was the therapist great, but he went OVER time. He gave me an extra 5 minutes. It was a nice change from what I was used to. Note to therapists: use a timer if you must. but don't cut sessions short. We notice. read more

I'm a first time customer but will likely be a repeat one now. Location is good, parking is not a big issue in this area of whyte ave. This company is up with the times & you can fill out the intake form online before your appointment to speed things up. Excellent communication with rescheduling & they send email confirmation as well as email receipts. Jennifer was the best masseuse I've ever had. She knew more about my past history with muscle problems just through working on my muscle tensions. Excellent pressure & technique unlike other places I've been to. She was able to clearly explain things to me in detail such as the fascia Cupping method & warning about bruising, etc. Really knowledgable & friendly (which doesn't surprise me since all their staffs' credentials & certificates are displayed in the waiting area). Appreciate her gauging my pain tolerance & how she asked permission for procedures or using potent oils. By the way, the oils they use smell lovely. The minute you walk in here you will feel the serenity. We are always greeted by the warm and beautiful smiles of the ladies at the front counter. I've been seeing Dr. Sabrina Sillins here and she is wonderful. I cannot begin how grateful I am to have found her. Her eastern treatment techniques and her vast knowledge in traditional medicine is another 5 start review for next time! :) The rooms have the proper ambience... the mood and lighting and even the scent adds up to having a lighter heart. I've been seeing Geha for acupuncture and shiatsu massage for about a year now. She's amazing. Seeing her is about full mind and body health. She helps with nutrition advice, exercise advice, and general health and well being. She truly cares about her patients. I find that I can connect with her and feel at ease in a way I have never been able to before with other massage therapists or acupuncturists. I love my appointments with her and look forward to each one. The place offers much more than just massage and acupuncture. There are many other therapists and estheticians there offering facials, body wraps, flower essences, aromatherapy, Ayurveda, and reflexology. I started seeing Sabrina Sillins and I can't say enough great things about her :) She is the most warm and calm person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I started seeing her after I tried the conventional (Western) way of trying to conceive with many frustrations, many different medications, many doctors, and one failed pregnancy. With no more success after going on the fertility medications again then feeling overweight, depressed and in pain! With many side effects, I didn't realize until later I decided to stop all medications. I started researching natural ways of using herbs and other methods to get pregnant, I did get pregnant once on vitamins and tea I researched and tried, however, it was short lived. I then decided to add acupuncture the equation, I searched for fertility acupuncturist and Sabrina's name came up. I have been seeing her since Summer 2014, I can say my lower back pain has greatly decreased. I did have had another pregnancy that lasted a bit longer, I know my cycles are much more regular and less painful. I feel more empowered about my health and fertility and have learned a lot. I feel much healthier, and every time I leave I feel phenomenal! I have also seen Lorraine as well, she is great too :) I will be seeing both as their availability is limited. The atmosphere is so calming as soon as you walk in, which I enjoy as I am one of those people who is a tad loud and a bit chatty! So it is nice to just relax and feel serene! read more

I decided to give sugaring one more shot at Wellness on Whyte, I have been back 3 times now and don't plan on stopping any time soon ! I've had 3 different ladies do my sugaring for me and they were all excellent, very thorough and very professional. There is a very nice and clean atmosphere and all the staff is very welcoming! The massage therapist I saw did great work on my body, however I felt as though she was too quick to give me advice when she hadn't thoroughly asked me questions about my health. I suffer from chronic pain, and know a lot about my body. It is far from perfect, but I also really don't appreciate being asked questions like "Have you been in a car crash?" and what my diet was before my health conditions even came up in conversation. Luckily, she was initially paired with Sabrina. Sabrina's caring nature established a great relationship with my wife, but her concern and friendship has gone beyond what one would expect. Her skill and ability with acupuncture is top notch, but it is that attention to my wife's concerns and her willingness to help with our stressful situation that has made our experience with Wellness on Whyte so pleasurable. One goes for this kind of treatment seeking a physical remedy, but Sabrina's manner and empathetic nature has added so much more. I know in my heart that working with Sabrina has helped my wife in ways beyond what she was hoping for when we first started going to Wellness. Today was my first time at Wellness on Whyte. It was terrific. Firstly just to let you know I parked in the underground parkade and the prices are very reasonable. The spa is located on the 3rd floor of a very large building. I entered the very serene and calming atmosphere of this spa and was welcomed by a receptionist. I had to fill out a bit of information about myself and was offer some lovely flavored water. Then was asked to sit and wait for my appointment. My appointment was for a sugaring and it was was to be my very first in my life. I was terribly nervous. I booked it with Leslie Senger. Leslie greeted me and took me into the room where the procedure was to happen. She asked me a few questions and made me feel very comfortable about the entire procedure. I was in for my legs, bikini and underarms but instead of the underarms I decided on the lip and chin. Leslie left the room, had me get ready and wait for her to return. She did a superb job I believe. She is very meticulous and treated me with the utmost of respect. Very well trained and even made suggestions for me for the future. When she was finished I changed and payed at the receptionist. They all treat you very well here. Definitely felt pampered even whilst getting all the hairs sugared off of me. I'm sure I will go back here again. I highly recommend this spa as well as Leslie for sugaring.
