We began working with Savanna, which is a big reason why we booked the venue after meeting with her. I don't know where to begin with Macey. I understand she was newish at the time and maybe even was going through some personal issues. She was not only unresponsive and annoyed that I contacted her more than a couple of times but on top of that very rude to both myself and my family. Countless items that we agreed upon in the beginning of planning did not come through, and we were charged for two items we didn't receive on wedding day. When setting up the room, three hours before the ceremony (we hired a day of coordinator to do this) she told my aunt, "Good luck" and walked away. The cherry on top was when she called me at 0900 the day after our wedding to tell us to come and get the décor items left from the night before. We had previously agreed that we could leave the items there until 1pm. Upon arriving I had asked Macey why this needed to be done right now, her response: "well, I need to use my office don't I". Macey does not care about you or your event, she just wants your payment and quantity trumps quality. I know there are labor shortages but Applewood really does need to hire an event coordinator with at least some experience that kind of likes people or at least pretends to care

First of all - the food is amazing. The tasting experience was so fun in the planning process and we loved EVERYTHING. Our Coordinator, Sarah, was incredible and gave us a tour of their awesome facility and setup a tasting with my parents, my fiance, and me. It was so delicious and the chef that brought out the food was so fun. At our venue, blanc, we had to bring in ALL the furniture and Footers coordinated everything for us. It was a little more expensive but A MILLION PERCENT WORTH IT because the Footers team did an incredible job setting everything up, flipping it from ceremony to dinner outside, getting everything just perfect and doing it all behind the scenes. They worked seamlessly and directly with the Wedding Coordinator (Color Coated Events), the florist (Flora by Nora) and the venue (blanc) so that once we had the plan - I really didn't need to be involved in too many details. They even made the entire floor plan for the ceremony and reception - including all the cocktail tables, DJ area . . . EVERYTHING. THIS SUPPORT IN PLANNING A WEDDING IS ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. The food is incredible. We had passed apps of mac & cheese croquets, steak bites, ahi tuna and Tuscan wontons. We had a buffet with picatta potatoes, broccolini, eggplant with ricotta and prime rib. We did a small cutting cake and an EPIC dessert table with mini bites everyone loved. We had a late nigh snack of breakfast quesadillas, which everyone loved. My friends were all pulling out the extras they stashed in their purses at the bar after-party - ha! Footers even made little leftover boxes with everything labeled for us that we got at the hotel after the wedding. Yes - Footers is a little more expensive than the competition - but truly not by much (I triple bid everything and compared a TON. It was only a little bit more.) And there is a GOOD reason. Footers' team are absolute professionals and they will take such good care of you so you don't have to worry about ANYTHING with tables / decor / food on your day. Instead of worrying about anything during the wedding - I was accepting glasses of white wine and LOTS of water (it was so hot) but the attentive staff (SHOUTOUT TO AJ!!!!) Hire Footers - you will be SO THANKFUL you did.

I have a unique perspective as I have attended for the las t2 years as a guest and this year as a staff member working with them. Linda and her husband who are the owners are some of the kindest most generous people to work. They are incredibly flexible and good hearted. The venue is beautiful. The first time we went I was a little thrown off because it's not a "beautiful" area in the middle of all the buildings. Yet, somehow, there in the middle of the concrete jungle not far from the fed center, they have created this spectacular escape that makes you feel far from it all. I don't know if the spectacular, almost European felling stone interior, the stunning chandeliers and fireplace or the little pond with the water fountain, but it makes you feel as if you are far from the rest of the world. The staff is spectacular, Ashley and Kathryn helped us develop our signature drink and mixed away like Tom Cruise in cocktail as I dipped away on about 7 different drinks that they created from my " we'd like to do something maybe like a Manhattan with apple spice" description of what we wanted. They brought us pans and mirrors that we could sue for elevation for our silent auction, they had chalk markers for signs. As they started putting the table cloths that we had picked initially and I abruptly stopped them and they upped out another option and checked to assure that we had enough for tables. Wow, they bent over backwards and really had a "we are here for you" attitude. Also, THE FOOD!! I had a fried chicken with polenta and spiced apples, we also had a pork chop as an option and a butternut squash vegetarian option YUMMY! I only ate half, and then kept trying to shove it down, because it was so good! Shout out to Tabitha who was also there to help with any needs that aired and I think it was Amanda, the sous chef that helped the day of setup. Also, one of the bar tenders whose name I didn't catch rocked it- our second bar wasn't set up, so I asked him and he got to work "full bar or wine and beer" within 30 seconds he was moving tables and bottles an probably 4 minutes later, they were set up!! Janet and I were tasked with an appetizer, dates stuffed with Marcona almonds and wrapped in thick bacon. It turned out quite tasty, just saying. We made several dishes as a group of five and the chef. She taught me a few tricks and explained why she does things with preparation and cooking. The class cuisine was traditional tapas and the grand veggie chicken paella. We also made Valencian Paella with bomba rice, saffron, aioli and chicken, and Mushroom Croquettes. She also threw in a traditional potato and egg tortilla, and I was the chosen one to flip it with success. Everything turned out really tasty. Chef Maggie also took the time to discuss our experiences and changes we might have made to our recipes or cooking techniques. The class also shows that you can make a great meal in any kitchen, even an outdated industrial one. Overall a great experience, and I look forward to another class with her.
