    Camden Spring Creek Apartments

Here is my honest review for Camden Spring Creek:…read more This apartment is my first apartment I've ever lived in and I think it's fair to review it now, considering I've been living here for more than 6 months now. I'm reviewing based on what I was looking for in an apartment, which is what I'd imagine most people do. PROS The overall exterior is great, the buildings look very inviting and the landscape is always kept up to the 9s. Currently, the buildings are being repainted to and so far they look pretty nice. Interiors are nice, lots of natural lighting and I like the black appliances. The only thing I wish I could change is the laminate countertops, but in this case, the pros outweigh the cons. I have never felt unsafe at my apartment, although while living here I have received emails about car theft, thankfully nothing has ever happened to me. Parking is not an issue for me because I have my own garage... But as for others who may not have a reserved spot, parking will probably be an issue if you arrive later in the evening. Maintenance and service requests response times are PHENOMENAL. Although I have nothing to compare to as I have never lived in an apartment before, I truly think the maintenance team is great. I can count on getting something fixed or looked at the same day I submit my request. Pricing... right now I am content with what I pay as I feel that they are overall providing a happy living environment for me. I'll be sad if my rent goes up if I want to renew my lease, because I genuinely do, so I guess I'll have to wait and see till then. I looked at 2 other complexes when apartment hunting and I honestly felt the most welcomed at Camden. I'm not kissing up here, that's not my style, so trust me when I say, this complex feels like "home". CONS Not sure if this is just my unit, or a recurring issue throughout the complex, but when hot water is used at the bathroom sink you hear a loud knocking sound in return. I've been woken up by my neighbors above me when they use hot water because the knocking sound travels down into my room. Pretty unpleasant; not sure why this is happening, but it shouldn't be happening at a complex that has a lot going for them. Lastly, the gym is teeny-tiny! If three people are at the gym at once, you feel like you are on top of each other! So all in all, the pros outweigh the cons, but my one significant con is the hot water poltergeist knocking issue... fix it and this place is 5 stars!

I want to start this by saying for the most part I loved living here. The staff is very friendly…read moreand helpful. They get maintenance requests done quickly, with the exception of my roof that frequently leaked. The other residents were okay, I don't think they screened potential residents very well as some were a bit rough for the quality of living the complex is aiming for and the community forum is mostly full of people complaining. The dog park was the only thing that was really bad here. It would randomly be locked, was not well maintained, always full of dog poop, and smells VERY strongly of dog pee. However, upon leaving the complex... that story changed dramatically. I left my apartment in good condition with some minor stains on the patio that needed painting over (as the patio was painted already, it did not seem like a big deal). Upon receiving my move out charges two weeks later, they had decided to charge me for repainting and recarpeting the entire apartment. The painting price was not a big deal and is pretty standard for most places. HOWEVER, when I left there were no stains or discoloration on the top of the carpet, so they tore it up and decided to replace it for THREE spots of discoloration on the bottom of the carpet. Even when the move out report completed stated that the carpet did not need to be replaced. Upon talking with the company regarding the charge for carpet replacement, they claimed that they were pet stains that warranted replacing the carpet. When I told them my 3 year old dog never had an accident inside, and never has in the entire time I've had her, that if there were STAINS ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CARPET, it might be from the MANY roof leaks I've had and reported they responded with "the charges are valid and will stand". Keep in mind I only lived there for 1 year. Very very unhappy and highly recommended you look elsewhere. They are nice at first but will take complete advantage of you when you leave.

We moved in from out of state just one week ago, and this has been an absolutely ridiculous…read moreexperience from day one. Our parking stickers, which are supposed to grant access to the gated garage, have never worked. Because of that, we can't even access our own apartment unless we sit and wait at the gate for another resident to come or go. There is no available street parking, so we've been left completely stranded outside of the property we're paying $4,000 a month to live in. The temporary leasing agent has been kind and doing her best, but she has no access to the systems or authority to fix anything. The property manager--the only person who can resolve the issue--has ignored every attempt to contact her, claims she's not receiving emails, and flat-out refuses to speak in person. It's unprofessional, unacceptable, and beyond frustrating. On top of that, the apartment itself was delivered in poor condition: the cabinet under the sink is broken off, the cabinets are chipped and peeling, and there are marks all over the walls and closet doors. We expected a professional, well-managed property and a smooth move-in experience. Instead, we've been ignored, locked out, and treated with zero accountability or respect.

The Lane: Don't Walk--RUN AWAY…read more I've lived at The Lane since it opened, and it's been one disappointment after another. My first unit looked used on day one: sloppy paint job, gaps in the floorboards, leaking windows when it rained, and an oven that wouldn't hold temperature. For a place branding itself as "luxury," the quality was an absolute joke. After three years, I moved to a different one-bedroom two floors up, hoping for better. Nope. I'm paying over $2,000 a month to share my apartment with roaches. And I don't mean the occasional bug you'd expect in Texas--I mean they're always there. In the last 10 days alone I've killed seven, even though I was out of town for four of those days. When I asked for help, I was actually told I could "just let it go" if I didn't want to kill it myself--after I'd already trapped it. When I finally spoke to Samantha George, the Business Operations Manager, she made me feel like I was overreacting for even being upset about roaches in my apartment. When I pointed out that my home is spotless and asked why they were still there, she dismissed it by saying "it's Texas, they're everywhere" and insisted it was a problem throughout the building--not just my unit. I've already done the pest service multiple times, which is obviously not working at all. They need to spray the entire building, not just individual units. Instead, she said there was basically nothing she could do except offer to let me sleep in the model unit. And when I asked for corporate contact information so I could escalate my concerns, she literally just Googled a generic phone number for me and claimed she "couldn't" give me anything else--not even a real contact for Howard Hughes or an email for Greystar. It's clear they don't want residents to have any way to hold them accountable. Management in general is even worse than the units. When I first moved in there was an office team who actually seemed to care. Now? Staff turnover has left us with people who don't respond to emails, don't answer the phone, and are rarely even in the office. Problems go ignored for so long that when residents finally do talk to someone, we're treated like we're the unreasonable ones for expecting basic maintenance and communication. They also canceled valet trash without any prior notice, so trash sat in the hallways for nearly a week making the building stink. Now, even though we have to haul our own trash out, we're still being charged $25 a month for absolutely nothing. And this isn't even counting the many other serious problems I don't have room to fully detail here--like the gate being consistently broken for long stretches, or the two separate break-ins we've had during my time here, including my own car being targeted. I'm only mentioning the most directly relevant issues here to show the pattern of neglect and mismanagement. Bottom line? The Lane is overpriced, poorly built, and run by people who don't give a damn about you once they have your lease. If you're considering moving here, save yourself the frustration and look literally anywhere else.
