I went to Great Clips to get my hair "trimmed" and they created ugly band looking things I NEVER asked for and literally took a CHUNK of my hair in the front and chopped it straight off. I don't know if they were trying to create a tapered front or what but it turned out choppy and HORRIBLE. Then, I went to Mode Salon and saw Israel. He wasn't able to add my hair back onto my head, but he was able to feather it and blend the choppiness. Now my hair just looks like it has layers. I'm so glad I went to Mode Salon and I'm so glad Israel was the one to take care of me. Love this place. Everyone's great. I came in to do something with my hair for the fall and Alex did a great job and recommended me to do a balayage. I love it. This place will be my go to for hair. 6/8/16 Back again and again Alex did an amazing job. We talked about what colors are good for balayage and I'm so glad I listened to his suggestions. Also learned a lot about how to take better care of my hair. I really love coming here. He's a great stylist and a great person to talk to while waiting 2 hours for your hair to get done. I found this salon through Yelp reviews, and I want to add my voice. They are amazing. I came to them after a bad experience with my long term salon, and I will never look back. What I love is that both Israel and Alex are great. They are super talented, and they have an amazing ethic: they want to be the best there is. They really know what they're doing. Color? Fabulous. Highlights? Oh, so wonderful. Brazilian blowout? Changed my life. I love this salon. You need an appointment because they are always booked, and it's worth it. The salon is super, duper clean (Israel's mom is always there keeping it spotless). They're both super nice. I feel like Alex actually cares that my hair looks good. He's super honest, too. I called up the salon to make an appointment and on the phone I spoke to Israel. He was very nice to me on the phone, so I proceeded to let him know that my hair shrinks on one side and I'm very very picky about my hair I can't seem to find a hairdresser. He continue to say to me that he is ready for the challenge and that he can do it. So he gave me an appointment and I went in. It wasn't okay looking salon and people were polite. Then a girl walked up to me and said come with me after I told her I was here to get my haircut by Israel. Anyway she told me to come with her and she took me straight back to the shampoo bowl I suggested to her can I please speak to Israel first so he can see my hair and I can explain to him when I'm talking about. I am a hairdresser and I like to talk to the person beforehand and do a consultation with them. But I did not get a consultation with him I had to ask for one then they proceeded to put me in a chair and he came over to talk to me as I was explaining that my one side of my hair shrinks a lot and showed him the side of my hair and explains what I wanted he said no problem. The girl took me back to the shampoo bowl and shampooed my head and that went back to the chair and sat down he proceeded to cut and I reminded him about the one side of my hair. Another one of his clients came in and he finished up with my haircut and said my assistant will blow dry your hair the girl that shampooed my hair and when she was blow drying my hair she was raking my forehead with the brush it hurt very bad I had to tell her 3 times to please stop it hurts. Needless to say when she was done he came back over did some more cutting on the side that shrinks I proceeded to say please stop it's going to go my hair is in shock right now and tomorrow that side will be shorter. He said no it looks gray blah blah blah. I paid for my haircut and I tipped because that's who I am. Needless to say the next day my hair was completely uneven the one side that trains was way shorter than the other side. I went back in today to explain to him what happened and give him good criticism to let him know what went wrong he was very much on the defense. So I proceeded to let him know how unprofessional I felt that he took me in and walked away from me twice and did not have a consultation with me beforehand that I had to ask for one and then I proceeded to tell him that he took a big chunk out of the hair behind my ear on the left side the side that shrinks he said he would fix it I said no thank you it was short enough I will just have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. So all in all it was quite an unprofessional experience for me. Being that I am a hairdresser retired and that I let him know all the things that are wrong with my hair before he touched my head and he insisted he could do it and then the unprofessionalism of someone else coming in because he had another client overwhelms me. I went here to get a balayage on my virgin hair due to the good reviews. I was devastated at how wrong they were. I have medium brown hair and was looking to go a bit blonde. Not only was the balayage not done well as far as technique, they also made my hair canary yellow. They were also very expensive $250 for the terrible dye job that I then had to go get fixed at a wonderful place Skylight Salon. I can't say enough great things about Skylight, not only did they color correct my awful balayage I got at Mode, but they only charged me $125 for the cut and color. I have now been to 2 different stylist at Skylight and they have done a great job of keeping my hair healthy and actually doing what I asked for. read more

I typically visit a stylist once and then move on, but I've been back to Mode a few times now (I only get a haircut like twice a year) and it's always a good experience. Plus, my husband has been too and his hair looks great when he does. Both Alex and Israel are talented, knowledgeable, super nice, and easy to talk to. They take the time to understand what look I want and make it happen based on what's going to work on me. They also spend time teaching me how to style my hair and educate me about how to care for it. I am so glad to have found a place where I know and trust that the stylists will do an awesome job.
