The man who manages this dry cleaner is the rudest person on the planet. I brought in a very nice…read more$1,200 Fortuny tablecloth for cleaning. It had some blueberry juice stains that had been sitting for a while, and in all honesty, I did not expect them to come out. I was mostly looking for the tablecloth to be pressed. Well, not only was it not pressed, it had also lost its shimmery quality entirely. When I asked why it looked so different and was still so wrinkled, the man immediately became confrontational. "I told you it was going to be hard," he said. I told him I understood that removing the stains would be hard. That's not the same as ruining the fabric and failing to press it. He began arguing about what he had and hadn't promised, then took it to the back to try to get the wrinkles out. He tried for about twenty seconds, came back, and said he couldn't do it. He became so agitated and angry that it made me genuinely uncomfortable. As I walked toward the door with my tablecloth, he said under his breath, "Get out." I turned right around and went back in. I asked if he really just said "get out" to me. A customer for years. Someone who was disappointed but understanding that there are limitations to the service he can provide. His terrible attitude made the whole situation worse. Not only will I never go back, I advise everyone to avoid this place. This man is plain mean, rude, and ugly-spirited. It's unfortunate that he is so miserable doing what he does that he doesn't even care about losing customers. North Main Street Cleaners is not a community oriented business, they do not care about you or their work. Avoid it at all cost. The dry cleaner at King Kullen at Bridgehampton is great. Go there instead.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They are incredibly rude-…read moreparticularly to women - and do very shoddy work (they have ruined several shirts and dresses of mine). They also have the audacity to *refuse* service if the owner (who always seems to be the only person there) decides your order is too complicated...or not worth the hassle. Or maybe he just doesn't like you for some reason. It's the singularly worst cleaner I've ever used, anywhere - including the Hamptons, where I have lived for years. Terrible service, rude, misogynistic and nasty owner, just avoid.

She is very detail oriented in her work so give yourself at least a couple of months lead time. And I know she is very busy, but I never felt rushed when going to see her, which is important for one of the biggest events of your life!

NYC Brides beware. She made the week leading up to my wedding so unnecessarily stressful and almost…read moreruined my dress for my wedding day (thankfully It was saved by an emergency appointment with a different seamstress two days before my Wedding) I'm truly shocked that Selene somehow has rave reviews, if you look at yelp and look at the 1 and 2 star reviews, you will see some similar experiences. My wedding was June 27th. She had my dress since April 30th initially she scheduled me for two alterations and then the pick up on June 21st final fitting was supposed to be May 30th. Everything seemed to be going fine until on May 30th the dress seemed to fit well overall just needed a few final touches near the chest (turns out It fit because It was still pinned, I didn't notice initially, I had to go back to pictures and realized this after the fact) because she said on the 30th It needed some more alterations to get the chest area right, she scheduled me for a 3rd final fitting on June 13th. When I'm walking out my door to go to her on June 13th, she calls to tell me she needs to leave as she has a medical Emergency, okay feel better I say, call Me next week to reschedule. When I don't hear from her by Wednesday the 18th, I call her and she says "I'm dealing with this medical issue right now what do you need is there a deadline?" Wild question to ask given the fact that she should have down that my wedding was the following week.. I politely remind her that my wedding is the 27th and I was leaving the 26th so I really needed It by this weekend. She agreed to see me earlier on in the day on the 21st this was I can pick It up that evening if any additional alterations are needed (by the way I later found out that her medical emergency was that she got two teeth pulled as per her report on the next fitting day) Okay this is where things really get out of control. I go in on the 21st and I am SWIMMING in my dress (this is when I didn't realize until after the fact that this is because the last fitting I had on the 30th the dress only fit because It was pinned AKA she did 0 work) she goes "OH MY GOD you lost so much weight WOW what have you been doing you lost several dress sizes, I need to do more alterations, this is too much work to do in a day, I'll work with you but you have to work with me you have to come back to pick up Monday night" I left scratching my head, I really did not think I lost weight at all let alone 2-3 dress sizes in two weeks but she had me convinced that my hot yoga I've been doing made my dress no longer fit, until my friend and I examined the pic from the last fitting. Once I realized she just straight up lied because she didn't do work and instead used my weight as an excuse, I started panicking. My MOH agreed to go with me Monday, we had a game plan.. go in, really hope the dress is done do my Fitting wait until dress is in bag in hand and then call her out. But then It didn't fit. Yes the alterations on the side were finally done but the chest area remained very loose. I think it's important to add, I'm a C cup, very average breast size there's really no reason to have trouble with this if you're a professional seamstress. Anyway, she says to me "yup like I've said since the beginning, this dress still won't fit your chest right, I will have to add straps, it's very normal, tons of brides do It " mind you, this is now 4 days before my wedding and no she never once mentioned straps to me until this appointment. I said absolutely not, you're not touching my dress another second. She responds "well I know weddings can be stressful but I have mentioned straps since the very beginning (she didn't) and it's not my fault you lost all this weight" that's when I decided to call her out on knowing she was lying then she started screaming at me in her shop like truly screaming at a bride 4 days before her wedding when she messed up this brides wedding dress.. It was a nightmare. Her mom comes out from the back room and assures me she can fix It in under an hour and I can watch. My MOH and I sit there awkwardly as her mom stitches the breast area a little more and makes It a little better It was doable I guess with like fabric tape if I wore It as is. Selene comes back after her mom fixes It to do the 'final fitting' and to show my MOH the terrible bustle she did. During this time she tells me.. don't walk backwards you will trip. Selene at the end goes "you made me nervous before can we hug It out?" It was truly the weirdest situation I honestly just wanted to get out of there so I just Said OK and played nice at the end, I wanted to remove myself from any more conflict and stress. She didn't charge me the final payment due to "misunderstandings" according to her, but her deposit was half so I still paid her $390 and I'm pissed about It.

HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE - NEVER BRING ANYTHING YOU CARE ABOUT TO HALLAK CLEANERS!!!!…read more I brought my satin Armani evening dress to Hallak. The dress was over $5,000 and this was the first time it was dry cleaned. They didn't protect the zipper pull and the paint was completely ruined on the zipper pull as rubbed off. Then, I called to speak with Leah who informed me that my dress wasn't ruined even though the zipper looked terrible and the zipper could just be re-painted to match the green dress. I called Armani in NY and in Milan to try to replace the piece, as well as Bergdorf Goodman but it was unfortunately not possible. When I called Leah to tell her to ask her how they were going to handle it, she said Mr. Hallak wanted to see the dress so I dropped it off. Armani said "DO NOT PAINT THE ZIPPER" as you may further ruin the dress and the paint could rub off on the dress. I told this to Leah and was very explicit that I was bringing the dress back only for Mr. Hallak to look at it but I DID NOT authorize them to try to fix it. When I didn't hear back after 5 days from Mr. Hallak, I called again and was told by Leah that Mr. Hallak "didn't want to call me but was taking care of it." I reiterated that they were not authorized to paint the zipper and that Mr. Hallak should call me before touching my dress. I didn't hear back for another few days only to receive an email from Leah that the zipper had been painted and was being returned to me. The zipper was painted but they got paint on my dress and then damaged the fabric in a second spot - probably trying to rub the paint off of it. I am so upset and disgusted with this situation. DO NOT EVER USE THEM FOR ANYTHING AS THEY HAVE NO CARE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS. GO TO JEEVES OR YOUR LOCAL CLEANER AS YOU WILL GET A BETTER OUTCOME. Comments below are empty as Mr. Hallak has my cell and my email. I have asked several times for a phone call and now over Yelp wants to appear as if he wants to communicate. Leah specifically tried to brow beat me with the hope I would go away. They are radio silent but for on yelp.
