OMG! What a fantastic place! It is so hard for me to give a 5 star review because not many places…read moreof this caliber seem worthy of it. They seem almost held to a higher standard in my mind because of what they are. They are opulent fine dining and so they should just be perfect right? If there are Tesla's, Ferrari, and Aston Martin's everywhere you should just expect perfection right? I understand that as an American I am used to a different kind of service, I guess... Fast acknowledgement and really attentive is what I would call it when out dining in a $$$$ restaurant. On our visit's it wasn't that they were slow or uncaring, just different... We never really had a "server" that I could identify as "our server". We had a team of people that seemed to all have a different role in our service. One brought water and drinks, another brought menu's, another took our order, and yet another served our food when it was ready. When he delivered my food he said something inaudible and I agreed. I can only assume that meant dress my dish for me. He removed the bones from my Lamb Shoulder and plated it for me. He seemed to be the professional food presentation guy as I watched him serve several people around us various dishes. He had the precision of a surgeon when serving the fish dishes cooked in rock salt. On to the food! This is where this place stood out! They brought out a nice crispy vegetable appetizer when they served the bread. (The Naan bread was amazing BTW) We had the Tiger Prawn Cocktail to start and wow is all I can say. Big giant Prawns in a layered cocktail type sauce. I have no idea what the sauce was but wow. I could have eaten 4 of these dishes and just left. It was that good. We also tried the Tandoori Chicken Wing Lollipops on another (lunch) visit and they were good but nothing like the Prawns. My wife ordered the Surf and Turf (Filet and Lobster). It was served with fresh veggies. The Lobster was pulled from the tail and served atop the Filet. She seemed to really enjoy it and commented about how good it was. I was totally distracted by my own food. On to my Lamb Shoulder! This is one of the best pieces of meat I have ever had. It was tender, juicy, full of flavor, and well... amazing! It was served with a Red Wine sauce, and Chimuchurri sauce, and the best damn Béarnaise sauce I have ever had. I reluctantly added the Béarnaise sauce to the Lamb not want to detract anything from the meat but as I tasted it I could not help but keep adding more and more to my plate. It was sooo good! I ate every single bite of it and didn't even care that I was about to explode from gluttony. My Wife couldn't finish her steak so I tried a bite of hers; it wasn't even in the same ballpark as the Lamb. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't nearly as divine as my Lamb. As I stated earlier, the service was strange and almost kept me from giving 5 stars. We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged for drinks and another 10 for the check. Everything in between drove the 5 star review home!

Food was extremely jestic... service was good but extremely overpriced, i'm good off it.read more

This was the best restaurant we went to during our stay in Marbella. It was so good, we came back…read moretwice. First, the service was exceptional. They went above and beyond to check all allergens. They were incredibly kind, efficient, and accommodating. The food was delicious. First the bread, perfectly fermented sourdough with creamy sheep butter. For starters, we tried the sweetbreads (simple, buttery, flavorful) and the chicken thigh skewer (very tender with crispy skin). Next the burger. Wow!! The pretzel bun with the cheese and sauce and high quality meat... best burger I've ever had. Meats: pork, so good but a small portion. The whole chicken was exceptional. Sides--highly recommend the onions. Delicious! We also tried creamed spinach, asparagus, and piquillo peppers--all good. Dessert was the best part of the meal! The torta di rose was like the best version of a fluffy, buttery, cinnamon roll without the cinnamon. And the rum baba--wowwwww. Cocktails-- we tried a deliciously refreshing peach cocktail. Overall, it seems like you can't go wrong here. It was all wonderful!!!

Hake is a popular Spanish fish and this was cooked to perfection with the flesh flaking off perfectly 15. Steak Capers Tartare http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#dNpT8NjDAuVhSaOrHc-I7g The steak tartare contained such good quality beef and it tasted so wonderful that the lack of cooking didn't matter. There was also the matter of the hollow potato crisp topping it to distract you - how did they do that? 16. Moorish Sweetbread http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#EPeUdK6Znc-gbhHen8uTpQ Another dish to remind you that you're in Spain with its use of local ingredients with a nod to inluences from just across the Straits of Gibraltar. This little section of the menu is a reminder that alongside all the visual and palate trickery and artistry, the kicthen can produce good basic cooking as well An optional cheese was offered but I was too full despite the tempting array of local cheese on the cheese trolley 17.Passion's Water Lilies & Tea http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#rBtXQVq22VGvHYeoHCq9fw The first of the dessert courses had passionfruit as a palate cleanser and was a little transition back to the magic 18. Inside you'll find what appears to be a catterpillar cocoon but is in fact marshmallow containing a sweet fruity interior 19. What does a cocoon turn into? A butterfly of course! Except this one has a chocolate twig on which is lying a cherry body and mango wings. Another dish which looked too good to eat 20. Choco Lagavulin Coffee http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#A5Gr9K2EYBD1mvBfz0rYrg A classic combination. The lagavulin was a liqueur 21. Checkmate http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#PKORuB-SoVWfN0xMgmoUWg The chessboard with edible pieces could refer to how full you'll be filling at this stage To aid digestion, a trolley with pots of fresh herbs was wheeled over. I had never seen melissa before, a herb with citrus notes but good for aiding digestion when taken as an infusion with my last course 22. The Wedding Cake http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#_VhEqpXURoNnh_GXMIihGg http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#kBXJltKS55_-4sZlUjUYiQ http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz_photos/acAngMsuCga6Ui5bbakE6Q?select=wKSQsTdUGAA7aeaAyzj0mA#yy-f8qv_d0gasRcMghb5gA The final course arrives as a large tiered wedding cake. The tiers are opened out to reveal the petit fours within. A most agreeable end to an unforgettable meal What a feast! My only slight negative of the evening would be the pacing of the meal, which was a little too fast. I was often still be digesting, both mentally as well as gastrically, the last amazing course when the next amazing surprise would be proferred. They didn't re-sell tables through the evening and so, this magical culinary journey could have been served and savoured more decadently and slowly After the meal, I was lucky enough to meet chef, get him to sign my menu, shake his hand and thank him for such a fantastic meal. I did spend awhile just watching his brigade at work, assembling those amazing creations As I stepped back out into the night air, the moonlight was just playing on Dani Garcia's name on the shiny sign at the entrance to the restaurant, which just served to re-emphasise the magical night I had just experienced I'm still dreaming of that meal now
