To start, the offices are beautiful and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant. The first artist I met with suggested I meet with Chloe because she has more experience with mens eyebrows. Then I got a consultation with Chloe who was very patient, extremely knowledgeable and importantly, very honest about meeting my expectations given my situation. Patient, compassionate and no attempt to make a sale at all. Chloe suggested I have her office do a laser treatment to remove the shadowed remains I had from a microblading procedure many years ago. She wanted a clean slate and she was 100% right. Almost immediately following the short and painless laser procedure, all of the shadowing was completely gone, which in and of itself, looked much better. Onto the procedure. Chloe worked her artistry with great care and my eyebrows came back to life, even though she required a touch up 5 weeks later, after everything had healed. Today, I went in for the Touchup, talked about the area where the pigment had lightened slightly (which is completely out of her control, I have 70 year old skin) and then she carefully started the touchup. It was so relaxing I think I fell asleep, When she finished, she handed me the mirror and I was extremely happy with the results. Actually, I can't imagine a better experience. For the price and the short duration, I was worried I wouldn't learn enough--especially since many schools only taught a couple of techniques or just one service like brows or lip liner. Then I came across Brow Me Pretty Academy with Eveline, and I immediately felt like I found exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a program long enough to truly understand not only the techniques, but also the theory and business knowledge needed to start a career. I ended up getting even more than I expected. While I was comparing different courses, I also paid close attention to the kits they came with. Eveline offered two types of starter kits, and both included everything you need to begin practicing confidently. She even provides information on where to purchase additional supplies. Many other courses only offered a very small kit--or just a tattoo machine--which didn't feel worth the investment. For the amount of money you're spending, a good starter kit is essential. This was another sign to me that Eveline is incredibly detailed and genuinely cares about her students' success. The course is two weeks long, which I loved. The first week is online and comes with two detailed manuals--one for blading and one for shading. This is a manual microblading and shading course (not a machine class). The books are packed with essential information for beginners: when you should avoid working on someone, skin types and how they affect healed results, choosing the right brow style, mapping (including correcting difficult brows), color theory, color correction, and even guidance on starting your business. The second week is completely hands-on. You work side by side with Eveline as she walks you through the techniques and shows how the theory ties into real daily work. This week really helped everything click for me--I became confident with the tools and the process. We also shadow her and work on two models for our final, which was a big reason I chose this academy. Unlike other schools where students only get to do a couple of strokes on a shared model, here you get actual meaningful practice. If you're going to invest in your education, I highly recommend choosing Eveline's full program. Her academy is one of only two schools in Phoenix accredited by the education board, meaning you leave with a legitimate certification. That's so important--I'm truly grateful I found her, because I would have been devastated to spend my hard-earned money on a certificate that holds no real value. Mine is a story of 'buyer beware.' I have very fine eyebrow hairs and went to Julia for…read moremicroblading in the hopes of having beautiful, hassle-free eyebrows. The result is that I am emotionally distraught and aesthetically maimed with mis-matched eyebrows now because of Julia's work. I take responsibility for not doing significantly more research before deciding on someone to do my microblading, or I certainly would not have selected Julia. She lacks close-up photos of her work, has only 3 reviews on Yelp, and not many more on her website where she can cherry-pick the best ones. But shame on Julia for trying to convince me that her microblading on my brows looked great, and that what I was seeing in the mirror was "just a reflection" and not what my brows really looked like. Her analysis would be laughable if it was not so flawed and deeply upsetting. I last saw Julia about a month ago for a touch-up to the original work where she promised to "even out my brows and make them perfect." She did not improve the mismatched shapes at all, but only made them darker which I did not want. Since then I have had numerous consulting appointments with professional microbladers and have heard a consistent theme to date... that my brows are definitely mismatched with one having a high arch mid-way in the brow, while the other is relatively flat with a rounded arch at the end; additionally, I've been told the brows are over-saturated so that the individual hairs are not visible which is the whole point of microblading to achieve natural looking brows. I can only pray that my brows lighten and completely disappear over the next few years. At that point, if they have not completely faded, I will need to resort to time-consuming and expensive saline treatments to remove Julia's work before I can have my brows properly microbladed. In the meantime, each morning I must re-shape each brow with a brow pencil to get a closer match so that I'm not embarrassed to go out. Needless to say, the past several months have been emotionally devastating to me and I don't know what the future holds. Julia has offered to "fix my brows" if I come in for a third appointment. In my opinion I would be crazy to let her work on me again given the outcome of my first two visits. The damage is done. Buyer beware.
