So MOD (Made on demand) is one of these pizza places where you basically make your own pizza and it's ready in minutes. I've tried several other places in the area and being that I was craving pizza, decided to give it a try. I also saw that one of my Yelp friends had checked in here earlier. Great concept but this place is unable to deliver on cleanliness, speed, order accuracy, or customer service. Order online for pickup and they mess up the order. Go in person and wait over 30 minutes when the place is empty. I have gone in twice now (not during lunch or dinner rush hours) and it's empty and they just move at a snails pace with no dough prepped which completely defeats the purpose of this fast casual pizza chain. What's really disgusting is that I've seen the kids handle cash and then directly make a pizza with no glove change. I've also seen several people including the pizza cooker, not were gloves or wash their hands once coming from the back. MOD is an additional player in the fast-casual pizza assembly joint game. I came during their soft opening in which all items were an additional 50% off. The word was out and the line was long but everyone was nice and patient. Like other joints of this concept they have signature pies or a build your own. Something different is they offer 3 sizes for pizzas mini 6inch, MOD 11 inch, and Mega. The MOD is their signature size and for 7.95 you can add as many toppings as your heart desires. Another difference with MOD is they also allow patrons to build their own salad. You can create a salad a flat fee using as many toppings as you choose. For an additional cost you can have your salad served on top of a warm pizza crust- kinda the best of both worlds. I opted for a BYO as I always do. They had lots of yummy toppings and I usually go a little crazy especially in the veggie dept. This typically causes my crust to get a bit soggy from the moisture of the veggies. Not at MOD! not sure if they have a sturdier crust or maybe the over crips it up more- but unlike my BYO options at similar places crispy crust here! They have typical softdrinks and also a few draft beers. I didn't drink during my visit but they had Sam Oktoberfest, yuengling, and funky buddha floridian. MOD is a great new addition to the parkland/coconut creek area and I look forward to checking it out again soon. read more

Used to be my go to pizza place since it opened in Parkland. Ate there at least 2x per week. The last 2 times were horrible they obviously changed the dough recipe. Mods my dear mods, call it a modified pizza by yourself!. Yesterday went there with my wife, late night almost closed, and I received what I call the best customer service ever. Smile, jokes, even when we were customizing the pizza the staff was super nice to us. This guys were tired since they've worked all day long and it was just 30 min before they closed but still we got our pizzas fresh, perfectly crispy and with the ingredients that we loved. Amazing restaurant, that has in and out dine in. It such a great experience to get your pizza for 8/9 dolars (11" inch pizza) with whatever you want to choose on it. They also offer a soda machine from coca cola. Again what a nice customer service, it was just the best I've ever had in times. They even gave me a free Mod cake so I could try it (brownie with chocolate fudge that was amazing). Everything was clean as the bathrooms too. Usually, I don't go out for pizza often, but I'm glad I did! People say that MOD pizza is very similar to Blaze pizza, and I would have to agree. You can make your own pizza at both places, but there are some differences. Blaze pizza has more toppings and more meat options, but MOD pizza has two different size pizzas and more specialty pizzas. MOD Pizza's pizzas are much smaller than the pizzas at regular pizza places, such as Papa John. I tried one of their spicy specialty pizzas and it was amazing! It was not too spicy and very cheesy. For the small sized pizzas, the crust was pretty hard, but the crust for the regular sized pizza was fluffy and thick. Their pizza is pretty thin, but they do have an option for a more thick pizza dough. It was a perfect restaurant for get togethers with friends. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and it isn't busy at all on Sundays. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. The place was also clean! The place is also very kid friendly so it's perfect. If you choose to have beer or wine, Mod Pizza has 4 beers on draft. They are mostly craft beers, the only non-craft beer was Sam Adams summer beer. They also have some bottled beer and cans of house wine. Unfortunately, they didn't have any of my favorite beers such as Coors Light, Bud Light, or Miller Lite. They also have a selection of soft drinks and water. After you get to the end of the line, you pay your check and wait for your name to be called and you come and pick up your order. Oh Gee! It's MOD! Pizza Time! Pizza Time! Quality Fresh ingredients are a must for me when it comes to a 'build your own' style of any type of restaurant, and MOD takes care of this. From the fresh thin dough to the toppings of fresh vegetables, I was very happy with the assortment and the quality. The taste did allow me to agree with what I saw in the making process as well. From the first bite to the last, I was happy with the quality of the dough and the ingredients I hand selected. Quantity On my first visit I ordered the small size 'build your own,' and as I figured, this was perfect for me. I saw many others eating the larger 'medium' size and though I am sure I could have tackled such a beast, I left the restaurant satiated and well. So yes, quantity for what you order based on differences in sizes is there. If you opt for the larger size pies, you surely will receive a nice quantity. Value The value depends on the size pie you order of course. For me, ordering and enjoying the small size, for the price charged, I was mildly feeling it. A competitor restaurant that does the exact same 'build your own' style pizza, has a Tuesday special for a similar price and the quantity is much more. For this, I cannot fully agree that the value is there at MOD. I would say though that for the regular price of the larger pies, being able to build your own and add as much as possible atop the dough, would make for a great value. Ambiance The mood and ambiance at MOD in Parkland is about what I had expected. Part family friendly and part young and energetic. The music was an alternative buzz from the late 90s to mid-2000s and that was cool for me. The workers were fast, friendly and accommodating. I am a very picky eater and the workers had zero hesitation in modifying to make vegan pizza exactly as I wanted it Crowd The crowd was families, young adult and couples. This made for a nice setting and mood on a Sunday evening. There were not any rowdy tables full of kids and the volume was easy to carry a conversation over and with. The area of Parkland of course does bring out the best and this was apparent at MOD. Service As mentioned in the ambiance area, the service was top notch. Each guest is greeted as they walk in and the team of workers goes fast to keep the line moving. They are young, smiling and full of life teenagers and young adult working themselves up a sweat and ready to serve you. I tip my hat to folks who can stand for such a long time in a single spot as so many of these team members would be required to do. Parking Since MOD is in an attached strip mall, it is shared with a few other restaurants and businesses. This does not though create too much of a hassle since different business seem to peak at different times. I would think during a lunch rush parking could be an issue, but on a Sunday evening when I was with my family, parking was a breeze. Extra Though I would have to admit I would prefer the competition that I am more accustom to when 'build your own' pizza is on the mind, I did thoroughly enjoy MOD and when in the Parkland area, would like to try it again, to even bump up my rating. Having said that, all was well and the team did not do anything wrong, everything was well. I simply would prefer other options where perhaps the dough is a bit plumper and more of my liking.
