I got the mango mochi, vanilla chip, Salted Caramel and everything bagel. They offer ice for an additional $2 if you aren't going to eat it right away. They were also giving out free samples of an ice cream that was going to be on the menu. My favorite flavor was the Mango and my least favorite was the everything bagel. These mochi ice creams were delicious and so creative. I love how much flavor you can get in a bite. We got 4 of the specialty mochis making this a very pricey dessert at ~$20, but I think it's worth the splurge to try something different. All of the mochi ice cream I've had are the basic flavors with no toppings or anything, so I was surprised when I saw this spread. The ube was my favorite with marshmallow top, but I'm a little biased since I'm a sucker for all things ube. The other flavors I got were red bean, matcha latte, and strawberry. All of the flavors were very strong and came through with each bite. I liked how the premium ones had toppings to accompany the mochi ice cream. The mochi ice cream I was most pleasantly surprised by was the red bean which came covered in chocolate. The hard outside and chewy center gave a lot of different textures that worked well together. Finally got to try all the flavors and now I can finishing writing my review! This is a review is for my online order a week ago. I've been seeing their ads on Instagram and Facebook a lot lately, they secretly know I want to try some mochi ice cream so they've been following me! It's definitely working! I was a bit hesitant to order at the beginning since they have a minimum spend of $60 per order for delivery. Wasn't sure if I wanted to spend so much on getting mochi ice cream, but I still ended up ordering them since I wanted to try different flavors and they have a box that comes with a mix of all kinds of flavors. Their signature collection is $60 and comes with 12 flavors, 2 pieces each. I got 2 other flavors on the side, Milk Candy and Lychee that I wanted to try which wasn't part of the set. So out of all the flavors I tried, listing out the ones I liked in order of preference: Milk Candy, Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Black Sesame/Salted Caramel/Chocolate/Matcha are a tie. Lychee was a bit disappointing and tasted more like coconut mixed in, it's honestly skippable for me. For the price and the minimums, it does feel a bit expensive (the mochi size is pretty small), but this is great for sharing and I guess good for a gift if you're going to a friend's party. Some of them are pretty sweet so I wouldn't be able to eat a whole piece by myself (except for milk candy and passion fruit, those are so good). Shipping does come pretty quickly! I got the delivery in 2 days after placing my order! It came in a huge box with dry ice to keep it cold. I shared mine with my family and it's fun trying all the flavors, definitely some fancy dessert to treat yourself during this quarantine time! I recommend these flavors: Milk candy - rabbit bunny milk candy, it looks pretty too in blue! Passion fruit - one of my favorite fruits :) may be a bit tart for some people but I thought it was just right and not too sweet like some other flavors, this one is purple on the outside! A small detour after a Soho shopping run -- It was evening and our stomachs were just grumbly enough for this place to catch our eye and for us to ubiquitously agree to go inside. It didn't take us long to decide on a 12 piece combination. I chose lychee (vegan), PASSIONFRUIT (vegan), jasmine boba and black sesame for myself. The worker put them in a four piece to go box for us. Later, when we ate them, every single one hit. We brought them home on the metro so they were soft and tender and absolutely melt in your mouth. The vegan ones were just as good as the nonvegan ones. I have to say the passionfruit and the jasmine boba were especially standout. The texture and flavors of this place is honestly unmatched in terms of ice cream mochi for me. The mochi is soft and pulls nicely and has a bit of nice bounciness and the ice cream inside was creamy and flavorful. Received a box shipment of assorted mochi ice cream bites as a gift from Mochidoki. The 24 piece Signature Collection was shipped in a styrofoam container cooled with dry ice. The mochi ice cream bites were displayed in a plastic tray and neatly arranged in a box. Following the packaged instruction which requires freezing 2 hrs to temper the ice cream upon delivery, I decided to serve the bites the following day. The mochi bites were surprisingly soft and chewy. I came here because I saw it on tiktok and I absolutely love mochi icecream and I've never seen an actual dessert place that sells it as its only product. I've seen it sold in grocery stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joes but I wanted to try it from a place where I'd get it fresh and not pre-packaged. They are located in Soho and the interior is a pristine white and the mochi icecreams are on display as soon as you walk in. I ordered the bento box for $10 consisting of 4 mochi icecreams: the lychee, espresso, vanilla chip, and matcha. Be careful that the more decorative mochi icecreams (espresso and matcha) are a bit more expensive so my bento box came out to like $15 before tax. Unfortunately, I was walking around Soho with my friend so 4/5 of them melted and I didn't want them to burst as soon as I took a bite so I just put the whole thing in my mouth. Just think of it like eating a really cold soup dumpling at once - I wouldn't recommend if you have sensitive teeth. Anyways, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't eat the others whlie they were still frozen which is no fault of the place but at least I did try the lychee before they all melted. Lychee - sooo delicious. tasted like actual lychee and was tart and a tad sour at the same time. I love traditional mochi. I like mochi ice cream. Mochidoki is definitely good at offering a large variety of mochi ice cream for the masses but at what amounts to about 3-5 bucks per mochi, it's just so so for me. The flavor menu is pretty large - probably about 15-20 flavors but many of them fall flat. The Asian flavors like red bean, green tea, passionfruit and lychee were far better than their western counterparts (i.e. red velvet). On the plus side, they do package the desserts in a cold bad with dry ice for free which ensures that your purchase doesn't melt. Overall their product is just OK (although I don't know if anyone can make ice cream mochi all that great). For the price, I didn't think it was that much better than the ones you get from an Asian supermarket. If you want to try for the novelty, go for it but I don't know if it's worth going back more than once. read more

Visually stunning and they got some interesting flavors. We got lychee, passion fruit, kakigori, and apple pie. The lychee one definitely had a subtle lychee flavor which was nice. I was not a big fan of the passionfruit. The sourness of the ice cream didn't work with the mochi on the outside. The apple pie definitely reminded me of autumn. This place was great! Came here after dinner a few paces away and it was the perfect treat. They have several flavors of mochi covered ice cream. The ones that were the most interesting to me were the fruit flavored ones. The staff member there said the most popular ones were black sesame and cereal milk. We got the passion fruit and lychee; both were delicious. I do have to say that some of their popular flavors run out throughout the day (for instance, we came close to closing at 9:30p on Friday night and there were no more black sesame flavored mochi left). The items are also pretty pricey. Each one is $3.25, a box of 4 is $12 and a box of 12 is $30. Though there is this cool trick where you can buy dry ice for $2 to keep the mochi ice cream longer in the deep fridge (up to a month). Neat! I've had this place on my to go list for a long time. Winter is too cold and summer is too hot for it. Springtime 60℉ perfect timing to go. There was a short wait outside and there's a sign saying one group/person at a time. The shop isn't that big but can easily fit a bigger group. I got four pieces: strawberry, passionfruit, mango, coconut I originally wanted matcha but they didn't have it. Four has a discount. Overall I'm impressed at the texture and temperature of this. The employees constantly open and close the fridge to get orders for customers, but the ice cream and mochi are still able to stay the right consistency. Not all four flavors were of the same consistency and temperature but I was comfortable biting and chewing all of them. Mochi skin is thin and soft, but I wish it was chewier. I didn't inspect 360° but I don't see an obvious fold or opening in the skin. Good job for creating that smoothness. Also the powder on the outside was very thin, didn't bother me at all or leave a mark on my mouth. Ice cream is solid enough to safely stick a pick through but also soft enough to bite without numbing my teeth. It's also "strong" enough to not be all mushed or ugly after I bite. It lets me cleanly jump from one flavor to another without making a mess. People compare this place with supermarket single pack ice cream mochi, but simply the temperature and texture regulation is crucial enough for me to buy it here. All four flavors I tried were more mild than I had hoped. I was hoping they'd taste like a less sweet version of Häagen-Dazs but far from it. They say they use all natural ingredients which I appreciate and can taste the cleanliness. I still wish they can make flavors bolder. Passionfruit This is their #1 best seller. It's not as tart as I expected but it's one of the stronger flavors from the four I got. Strawberry For some reason I told myself this is a must try after reading Yelp reviews. It's much much more mild than expected. Maybe calling it strawberries and cream/strawberry shortcake would be more accurate. In that case I would want a more prominent dairy flavor esp when this one isn't vegan. Would adding dried strawberries or jam help with the flavor?? Mango This was the favorite of one of the employees so I chose it. It came out weaker and "greener" than expected. I was expecting something like dried mango. Can they literally add dried mango?? Coconut This is the only flavor with mix ins. There's toasted coconut bits inside. That helped a LOT with flavor without being too overpowering. It made the texture more fun too. I appreciate this place for selling a speciality dessert and doing a good job with texture and temperature.
